The Year 1840 - Living Under a Thatched Roof

This charming thatched-roof house with oak half-timbering has been lovingly renovated and modernised in recent years. With its generous 143 square metres of living space, it offers a bright and inviting atmosphere and a well-maintained ambience. The interior design impresses with its high quality and thoughtful attention to detail. The glass-enclosed entryway lets in plenty of natural light and offers a wonderful view of the courtyard with its lovingly tended boxwood hedges, Danish cobblestones, and small outbuildings. In the entrance area of the main house is the inviting foyer with a stylishly coordinated dining table and chairs. The adjoining open-concept living area, comprising the hallway and living room, offers plenty of space to relax and unwind. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere on cooler days. Entertainment is provided by the TV and a CD radio system in the living area. On the ground floor, you’ll find two separate bedrooms with comfortable double beds (140 cm x 200 cm and 160 cm x 200 cm) and ample storage space. The bedrooms are equipped with blackout blinds. For the little ones, there is a travel cot and a high chair. The bathroom on the ground floor features two separate sinks and a built-in bathtub. On the upper floor of the house, there is an open living area with ottomans, a bookshelf, and a small sitting area overlooking the courtyard, from which you can enjoy the sunrises. There is also a comfortable double bed (180 x 200 cm) and storage space available. The second, separate bathroom on the upper floor is equipped with a walk-in shower and a toilet. On the ground floor, you’ll find a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. A fireplace in the living room rounds out the amenities and ensures relaxing moments even on cold days.

The spacious garden area offers seating on the 4 terraces at any time of day so you can enjoy the sun. The small, idyllic garden pond, with a maximum depth of 50 cm (not fenced in), blends harmoniously into the lawn. Garden loungers invite you to linger. The thatched outbuilding provides additional, lockable storage space for bicycles and other items. You can safely park your cars in the carport.

The immediate area offers numerous recreational activities, whether it’s a trip to Cismar Abbey, a visit to the Lensahn Museum Village, or simply bike rides through the picturesque landscape of East Holstein. Grube is also the perfect starting point for exploring the OstseeFerienLand, Holstein Switzerland, the lake district around Eutin/Malente/Plön, or the island of Fehmarn.
