The Sea Biscuit Cottage is a renovated beach/fishing bungalow built in the early 1940's. Originally located on the corner of South Anchor and Station Street, this little gem was salvaged from the progress of the island and relocated onto the property of the main house, The Sea Bean at 509 South Station. Once planted, The Sea Biscuit was creatively renovated and given new life. Sea Biscuit Cottage sustained significant damage from Hurricane Harvey in August of 2017, this prompted a major renovation and allowed for some modern amenities and upgrades to be added while still keeping what could be salvage of the old cottage we love. The renovation was complete in 2019.
The property features a wonderful fenced yard, gas grill, outdoor dining set, outdoor shower facility and private parking for 2 vehicles.

10/10 the BEST VRBO we have ever used! So well stocked, immense charm & comfort, location just perfect. We fully intend to stay at the sea Biscut again & again.
We loved our stay. It’s a small place but perfect for us and my son. My dogs loved running around the garden. The cottage was nicely decorated and we would definitely come back again.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay here! We brought our two golden retrievers who enjoyed the private yard. Multiple sweet touches for dog lovers. Great location, very clean, and felt like home!
This was our second visit at the Sea Biscuit in the past year. We love the cottage, Port A and all the beach activities. I haven't doubt we will be back!
It was such a pleasure to stay at the cottage. The garden is a delight. We also enjoyed the tiny cactus garden at the side of the house. We hope to return.
Cottage was very clean and super cute. Owners left clear instructions and had helpful tips about the area. Very nice yard and we loved the outdoor shower.

So glad you were able to enjoy the outdoor shower! We hope to have a nice dog washing station completed soon! We appreciate your nice compliments and hope that you will stay at the Sea Biscuit on your next trip to Port A.
Seabiscuit Cottage is heavenly, quirky, beautifully designed (house and garden), perfectly appointed. All of us, including son and two little dogs, felt at home in this haven. Port A over the 4th of July weekend was lovely, but sitting in the garden relaxing was our favorite activity of all. Thank you and we hope to be back very soon!

Perfectly appointed
A perfectly appointed get away from the city. The cottage is beautifully and thoughtfully kitted out without being cluttered. The location is close to everything but also really quiet. And Heather is an incredibly helpful and responsive hostess.

Great location!
It was great to stay right in the heart of the town! We were able to walk and bike all over town. The beach was about a pleasant three block walk. The dogs felt comfortable in the yard and we felt that they were safe. The cottage was clean and had all the amenities you might want. It was decorated with a real artist's eye.

Lovely Cottage!
We loved our stay at the Sea Biscuit Cottage! I love taking my girls for walks to the local stores and it was a short drive to Corpus Christi as well! We enjoyed the many activities Port Aransas has to offer, and the surrounding community as well! We loved that we could take our dog, Aspen, with us as well! It was her first step on the beach, and she loved it! Thank you SOO MUCH!

Just what we needed

We had a great time although too short staying in your cottage.

Thank you, Gregg! We are thrilled that you guys enjoyed your stay.
First overnight road trip with our dog, and we all loved it! The guest book in the cottage is like a novel, describing all the wonderful family adventures - everyone who has stayed here clearly loved it. Convenient - walking distance from just about everything you would want to do, but also so quaint that it is enjoyable to sit in the garden/yard which is fenced in, so it was perfect for our dog. Super clean, and the host was accommodating with our questions. Our careers were in the hotel industry, and we would choose this cottage over a hotel any day!! Great value! Helpful hint - rent a golf cart to drive around town and on the beach - keeps your car clean, and the golf cart is a fun part of the adventure. You will be very happy here! We will be back!

Modern and clean
A perfect place for a getaway. No Aztec prints or dried flowers everywhere. Thank you! Clean, modern beach style, wifi, and close to everything. Brought our bikes and never got in the car except to go back home. You won't be disappointed.

More than I dreamt it could be
My month long stay (and my dog) was wonderful. I needed peace and calm and that's what I found in the Sea Biscuit. The cottage is adorable and filled with Heathers decorating touches. I did not want to leave. I did a lot of cooking, but every meal eaten out locally was delicious (shrimp pizza @ Stingrays). Also stop by Heathers adorable store, Saltwater Gypsies. Yosemite & I walked the beach daily, and some restaurants were also dog friendly.

Thank you for staying at the Sea Biscuit Cottage! I must say that you and Yosemite were the most delightful guests and I was really sad to see you head back home! We welcome you both back anytime.
The outdoor shower is perfect. I highly recommend using it when coming from the beach. The inside of the cottage is exactly what the pictures look like and is very cozy. I loved looking at all the artwork, especially the pictures in the bathroom! The master suite was very cool and comfortable. I stayed upstairs in the loft, and, despite the fan on, it was warm, but eventually it cooled during the night. The ladder to the loft is very vertical, but sturdy. Very cute & cozy beach cottage!
I decided on a me-cation to just unwind and decompress and chose the Sea Biscuit. And I am so glad. From the yard with the seating so artfully arranged, the outdoor shower and the doggy bowl full of water, it offered just a smidgen of what was to be expected inside.
Once inside, I immediately began relaxing. It was perfectly furnished, tastefully decorated and nicely cooled down. And yes, even the bed was incredibly comfortable. If you needed something and didn't immediately see it, just open up the cupboards and cabinets, it was in there. There wasn't anything I didn't LOVE about this place except I didn't reserve it for longer.
Thank you Heather & Jon for a lovely stay!

A True Coastal Charmer
Sea Biscuit was home to us for almost 2 weeks and wish it could have been longer. From the white washed plank walls to the authentic claw foot tub, the cottage welcomes you with a sense of nostalgia. Owner's pride is definitely apparent in this cottage as everything is well maintained and I must admit that the cottage was cleaner than I keep my own home. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample dresser and closet storage. Internet access was great which was important to us as both my husband and I were working remotely during our stay here. Parking is very convenient, about 15 steps from the cottage door, which made hauling luggage, groceries and beach items very easy. The kitchen is small, but very functional. We cooked most of our meals at the cottage and found the kitchen to be very efficient. (I must confess though that my meals are fairly simple such as spaghetti, tacos, casseroles and salads.) It was wonderful having a fully fenced grass area for both letting our dog run and for us to sit and enjoy the beautiful days and evenings. On our 2nd or 3rd day at the cottage, my husband jokingly said to one of the owners that we were only going to give the cottage a 4 star rating due to not having a cheese grater nor an ice cream scooper....both were delivered to the cottage the next day. I can't say enough about this great little cottage and plan to return for many more stays.
Response from VrboOwner on 29 Mar 2020
Thank you, Charlotte! We are delighted that you and your husband enjoyed your stay at the Sea Biscuit Cottage. I believe the kitchen is now complete since we've added the ice cream scoop! ps...we may even add an ice cream maker for your next stay!
Very cozy cottage located walking distance to the beach! Very clean and we had everything we needed Especially liked the fenced in yard for our fur baby! Would definitely recommend!
This is a lovely property, well decorated and in a good location for restaurants and shops. The yard is lovely with lots of plants and grass great for pets. The property was good for me, my girlfriend and her son. Three fit well in the space, but it would be a stretch to try to have five people stay here. There are lots of bugs which may be normal for the area. When we arrived there were roaches in the living room and bathroom, and when we came home on the third day silk bugs all over the living room lamps and tv. Don't leave any lights on when you leave in the evenings. Also, the mosquitos were brutal. Without the bug issues I would give a top rating for this place!
Will definitely come back. The cottage was exactly as pictured. Clean, neatly decorated and close to everything. Beach, shops, restaurants. We had a cart and there was plenty of room for a couple cars and the cart. The back porch had lush foliage and Tom of privacy. Surprisingly quiet as this was off the main drag but still close to everything. Will definitely look at staying again. Thank you for helping on a great family vacation!

About the host
Hosted by Heather
The voice of the sea speaks to my soul! Almost 11 years ago, my husband, youngest daughter and I, set out traveling the Texas coastline in search of the perfect retreat. We found Port Aransas and fell in love! With caution to the wind, we left the fast paced city life of Houston and settled here in 'Old Town' Port Aransas. We busy our free time with fabulous fishing, shell hunting, bird watching and lazy beach lounging. Over the years, our family vacations have always involved water and sand...we are so happy to be living our holiday on a daily basis.
Along with our vacation rental, we are also self-employed...the creative side of me loves color, decor and gardening. I get my fix via my ladies boutiques that I own here on the island...Saltwater Gypsies and Tippy Toes. My husband is a technology guru and thrives on it...he owns and manages an electronic security company in The Woodlands, TX and also here on the island. We've been married 33 years and have 3 kids...Our oldest daughter is a recent graduate of SCAD and is pursuing her freelance illustration career in Houston, TX (see some of her work in the cottage)...We have a son who has recently served in the USAF, stationed in CO (with his girlfriend and our two totally scrumptious grandsons)...and we have our youngest daughter that is entering her junior year at St Edwards University in Austin, TX.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I enjoy good food and laid back entertainment. There are some wonderful venues on this little island. You have access to the freshest seafood, diamond-in-the-rough dining experiences, music and entertainment attractions, boutique shopping and our quaint little beach bungalow, right in the heart of Port A.
