We warmly welcome you to the Altstadt Quartier in Schotten! We are Jasmin & Kevin, Katrin & Christian. Between October 2021 and March 2024, we lovingly renovated, ecologically remodeled, and expanded this 200-year-old half-timbered house across from the Liebfrauenkirche. If you appreciate charm and a little more comfort than is typical in group accommodation, you’ve come to the right place!
Our seven rooms can accommodate up to 23 guests. There’s something for everyone: double rooms, twin rooms, and shared rooms. The larger rooms have an en suite bathroom, the medium-sized rooms have a bathroom down the hall, and the two small rooms in the attic share a bathroom.
In addition to the rooms, we offer a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, as well as a dining room and a foyer with seating areas that are available to you around the clock. In the attic, we have a spacious lounge. Here you’ll find cosy sofas, a large table, a foosball table, a play area for children, and our snack bar. Books and games for guests of all ages are available for free use and invite you to enjoy a cosy get-together. In the summer, we also have outdoor seating in front of the house. You can store your bicycles in our ground-level bike room, which is equipped with plenty of outlets for charging your batteries.
The Vogelsberg volcanic region captivates visitors with its tranquility, diverse opportunities for relaxation and outdoor activities, and its natural beauty. In half an hour on foot, you can reach the Nidda Reservoir, which is perfect for swimming and other water sports in the summer. The highest point of the Vogelsberg, the Hoherodskopf, offers various recreational activities such as a climbing forest and a treetop trail, a summer toboggan run, or mini-golf in the summer. In winter, it’s a wonderful place for cross-country skiing. Hiking is a pleasure in every season!
Right in Schotten, the Vulkaneum offers fascinating insights into the region’s volcanic history. Or you can visit the Vogelpark, which—contrary to its name—is home not only to birds but also to many other animals and great adventure playgrounds. You can also rent a barbecue area here.
Its central location in the heart of Germany attracts visitors to the local towns and villages year after year. The Vogelsberg is attractive and popular with visitors of all ages, both in summer and winter.
