About this property

Small finca in Lepanto near Jicaral in the province of Puntarenas in Costa Rica

The property is approximately 5,000 square metres and is located directly on the Rio Lepanto. The finca is shaded by tall trees, which ensures that it is not exposed to intense sunlight.

The plumbing work was performed by an American plumber, so the sinks have traps to prevent wastewater from entering the house—a problem common in most homes built in Costa Rica.

There is a large garden with many shady trees, jungle vines, and plants from all over Costa Rica.

The house has approximately 50 square metres of interior space, consisting of two bedrooms—one with a double bed and one with two single beds (all with built-in closets)—a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and an open floor plan for the living room, which features a seating area with Wi-Fi and a smart TV, a dining area, and a kitchen equipped with a coffee maker, toaster, and electric kettle.
A four-burner stove with an oven is also available, as well as a microwave and an iron.

The ceilings are high and made of teak; large ceiling fans are installed in all rooms, and there are three fans in the living/dining/kitchen area

A 1.5-meter-wide covered porch surrounds the house, with the rear section next to the kitchen enclosed by a steel barrier that houses the washing machine.

The air conditioner in the living/dining area and the American-style refrigerator with a large freezer are regularly maintained. All rooms have large fans.

There is a separate garage with a storage room attached to the side.

The backyard features a large covered outdoor cooking and dining area with an adobe pizza oven, a grill, a wood-burning stove, and a sink.

There is also a well on the property for watering the garden.

Lepanto is a small town with two cafes, two restaurants, a butcher shop, a football field, and a Catholic church; a supermarket is within walking distance.

There are good beaches within a 10-km radius on the Gulf of Nicoya; Playa Coyote and Playa Blanca are perfect beaches that aren’t overrun by tourists, featuring a long, curved shoreline that wraps around the bay, with palm trees providing shade.

The plants in the garden have been collected from all over Costa Rica, including two breadfruit trees from Limón. There are two old rainforest trees standing next to the river; we don’t know how old they are, but they’ve been standing there together for so long that their roots have intertwined. They have a substantial root system that prevents the soil from being washed into the river when it rains.
Notes:
A gardener keeps the property clean and is also your point of contact—he lives nearby,

This is also the territory of howler monkeys, so it can get a bit noisy at night.

Household trash (black Olympic Grandes No. 9 bags) fits in the dustbin in the kitchen and should be placed in the metal bin to the left of the property gate on Thursday evenings.

When you leave the finca, always remember to lock both screen doors (the front door and the kitchen door) (because of the monkeys); all keys will be handed to you.

This is a non-smoking finca.

The ferry from Puntarenas to Naranjo Beach ( https://coonatramar.com/en/ ) runs up to 5 times a day; transport to the finca (approx. 20 minutes) can be arranged.

Rates: $70 per night, $400 per week, $1,300 per month; Wi-Fi and internet for $25 per week (the password will be provided to you).

If needed, the car (Nissan Murano, 4x4, V6, 256 PS) can be rented along with the accommodation for 55 dollars a day, $ 350 a week, and $ 1.250 a month.

Three ladies in our 50's stayed one night on our way from the ferry to Samara, cute little property and house. Beds were comfortable, I would recommend.
