About this property

River front, million dollar Mountain View Estate

Wildcat Estate is 50 private acres located on the edge of the Pocono Mountains and the Delaware River. Across the river are the NY Catskill Mountains. The Estate is ideally situated to enjoy the rustic advantages of Pennsylvania along with the cultural treats of the Catskills.

Food, museums, galleries, shops and sports are at your fingertips, or just sit back and enjoy the Estate in it natural splendor.

For the hunter-gatherer, there is a 1 acre food plot that supports a herd of 30 deer living on the 50 acre estate. Wildcat Estate is bordered by a 3500 acre protected state land and a private Estate of 2500 acres. You will see flocks of turkey, black bear and herds of young buck and doe. There are two impressive and elusive 9 pointers frequenting the property. For your gatherer side, wild berries are abundant throughout the property and state lands for your enjoyment.

Pennsylvania has no shortage of Ski Mountains; Wildcat Estate is located within an hour of three ski mountains, including Ski Big Bear. The trails at Ski Big Bear border the estate's property.

If fishing is your thing, cast a rod at the edge of the property for rainbow and brown trout, large-mouth bass, walleye and pikes. If you can’t catch a fish for dinner you just can't fish. The state lands, a walk down the road, provide excellent brook trout opportunities as well.

Kayaking and canoeing sites are accessible from the property or through any one of the many outfitters located in the area. There are two aluminum canoes on the property which are available to guests.

You can swim the Delaware or if you would prefer to hike your stress away, the property is an ideal place for it. At the foot of the property, river level, the elevation is 300’ above sea level, where the property meets the ski mountain it is at 900’ above sea level (yes we butt up against the ski mountain). This makes for a challenging hike. The property was once home to the Iroquois Indian. On the property you will find ceremonial stone structures, ruins of the home of Iroquois Chief Teedyuskung. Local legend says the sacred rock were the Iroquois Indian came out of the earth is located on the property. The natural sights include a waterfall in wildcat brook (where the estate gets its name) and an old rock quarry.

This is great horse country. If you own your own horse you can board 3 miles away. Trail rides can be arranged through a number of local equestrian ranches, including the stables at Masthope Mountain.

Farm to table, don’t bring groceries. Farmers markets with fresh grown and organic products are all a quick ride away. Most upper-end restaurants in the area use local grown ingredients. Take advantage of clean living with antibiotic and chemical free eating.

For the cyclist, Masthope Plank Rd is a beautiful state road that stretches through Game lands and private forest.

This is paradise, come stay with us for a week or a weekend and see why the local folks always have a smile on their face.

Fantastic
Great house, top master bedroom is spacious and comfortable with a screaming view and a great bathroom (with lovely bath). Exceptional property overflowing with wildlife, we caught the wild turkeys (and they are huge) admiring their reflection in the side of the car. Met the chipmunk family (momma and two babies - too cute). You can get to the river, just need a little courage to find the way. Can't vouch for the TV, we never used it. Every night was game night (with a beer or two). Most of the time was spent on the deck off the living room admiring the view, watching the wildlife (eagle, hawk, bluebirds, Pileated woodpecker, deer etc etc etc). Both David and the property manager (Joan) were great and communicated well to make sure we were comfortable. Thank you David for sharing your amazing property.

Haven for nature lovers
Due to covid, we brought a lot of what we needed for a 3 night stay. We did not want to have to go in/out too much for groceries nor to go out to restaurants or bars. The kitchen had enough pots and pans and dinnerware for our family of 4. Except for the house needing a few repairs (which I let the owner know), this place is awesome especially for nature lovers like my family. The view of the mountains and the river is jaw dropping. The sound of water flow in the brook is refreshing. We hiked a bit, followed the brook to the road. And then took the path upward to the waterfall and past that. So awesome! There were deer visiting once in a while. That was nice watching them watch us. I took a lot of pictures and videos but pictures can’t compare to actually being there and seeing with your own eyes. My two young adult kids enjoyed ski ing . Ski bear was only a few miles away. Our stay was a good mix of invigorating activities, admiring and appreciating the wonders of nature, and most important of all family bonding. We enjoyed our stay.

The vacation I have been needing!
It’s clean and that’s the way you should keep it. Animals are everywhere ( turkey, deer, bear, coyotes, foxes) treat them with respect and they will come back. Fishing is the biggest plus. It’s a hike down the driveway and back up and a mini hike game trail I found down to the river. Salmon, bass, trout, chubs, stripers, and last but not least catfish if you fish at night. I found wearing waders with boots is a good idea. Allows you to hit those deep spots where the fish hide in. Green worms from Walmart work the best for trout and bass. I bottom fished and found a few snags but with the waders it should make it easy to get out, if not bring extra tackle to keep your experience the best. Fire pit was awesome with wood on the property, or you can buy wood at the local gas stations or drive around and find bundles of wood being sold for 5$. Uber eats do not deliver here lol so learn how to cook healthy meals so your able to wake up fresh and ready to enjoy this beautiful property. Behind the house there is a trail to the right of the swing set going up to the waterfalls. I found frogs, salamanders , and snakes. The property is sacred, I can’t stress this enough please don’t mess it up for everyone. This property gave me the opportunity to love my other half and open up more about myself. I’m a combat veteran who suffers from ptsd and tbi. To get away from the media, the crazy stresses of everyday life, the peace , the happiness of being able to relax for once I can’t even put into words. There are spiders around the property but they will not bother you if you leave them alone to do there jobs. Night you can see how they build huge webs by the lights to catch there midnight snacks. Also when driving on the road to the house be mindful of the speed, there are deer and people on these roads every now and then. Just be vigilant of your surrounding. Other then that this was perfect and I will be coming back again and again and spreading the word that this property is key if your into fishing and hunting. Plan the trip ahead of time because it is a 30 min ride to Walmart or to the closest market. The bars are around but your better off drinking on the deck listening to the water and birds. Thank you David for the opportunity and your welcoming home. I truly am happy and miss this property already.

Relaxing getaway
The owner's home was spotless and tastefully decorated. The home is very private and has a great view from the top porch. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning and loved the fire pit in the evening. During our second day it rained non-stop and had water coming through 2 of the windows, thankfully there were plenty of towels. The wi-fi for our phones and laptops worked, but we were unable to use the TV as it was not connected to wi-fi. David responded to my text, but we were unable to fix the issue. This did not impact our trip as we did not come to watch TV. My biggest suggestion for David is to improve the cookware. There are very few places to eat without driving at least 5 miles and I cooked almost every meal. The kitchen had plenty of plates, cups and silverware but only one skillet that was useable. Also, there was no toaster that was listed in equipment. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the house is very comfortable. Again, I would make sure there is a FULL set of cookware.
