About this property
Little Cabin in the Woods: Spectacular Views, Location, and Space!
Little Cabin in the Woods is a dream come true! Nestled on a mountain side close to the Buffalo National River, our cedar log cabin invites relaxation, rejuvenation, and lots of fun! Everything you need to make your get-away enjoyable is provided.
Come on in through the custom-made door that features a stained glass waterfall! The inside of the cabin will take your breath away! Drink in the cedar smell! This spacious cedar log cabin is an architectural jewel. The cozy great room features a fully-equipped kitchen, a conversation area built around a beautifully designed native field stone propane fireplace, and a roomy eating area. Completing the main floor is the Laura Ingalls Wilder bedroom with its queen-sized bed on a cedar bed frame and a large bathroom with the laundry facilities contained neatly behind hand-built folding doors.
Climb the stairs to the peaceful loft that features a king-sized bed with a private bath that includes a Jacuzzi tub for two! The view from the loft is stunning!
The cabin is approximately 2100 sq. ft. with two bedrooms and two baths, a full kitchen, and great room. With 5-8 guests, a third basement bedroom with a queen bed, bunk beds, an antique rope bed, and bathroom is available. With four or fewer guests, owner permission during the reservation process is required to use the third bedroom and an additional $30 cleaning fee is assessed.
A huge wrap-around deck for enjoying nature, dining outside, napping in the sun or enjoying conversation with loved ones gives added value to your cabin experience! The cabin is fully furnished with a refrigerator, range/oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, clothes washer and dryer. All utensils, dishes, glasses, towels, and bed linens are provided.
We know you'll want to spend most of your time on the deck, but just in case you are inside, we provide wireless internet and a variety of DVD movies for your use. And. . . you'll want to revisit your childhood with a rousing game of dominoes.
During your visit, please read our cabin journal and add your thoughts about the time you spend in our Little Cabin in the Woods.
PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT HAVE CABLE TV AT THE CABIN, BUT WIRELESS INTERNET IS AVAILABLE. The Smart TV has Roku capability ready and has streaming if guests have their own streaming service.

About the host
Hosted by Bob and Pam Hankins

Little Cabin in the Woods is the result of two couples dreaming of the ideal get-away. Rod and Anita, both educators, and Bob and Pam, a lawyer and an educator, are long-time friends who dreamed of owning a cabin as a home-away-from-home. Now retired, we enjoy traveling, grandchildren, the St. Louis Cardinals, corgis, and spending extended periods of time at the cabin. In 2022, Bob and Pam took complete ownership of the cabin. As we look ahead to the future, we see many more years of sharing our dream place with other like-minded folks who love the Buffalo River Area and all its amenities
Why they chose this property
Little Cabin in the Woods was not purchased---it was designed and built by the owners! With the assistance of a Mennonite father-son team, the cabin took form over two years of persistence and hard work. Our 'fingerprints' are all over the cabin. We painted and hung the cabinets, laid the hickory hardwood floor, made and hung the curtains, and decorated.
Little Cabin in the Woods is a labor of love for us. It provides a get-away and a place of solitude that is unmatched in one of the most beautiful best-kept secrets in the US----Newton County, Arkansas.

What makes this property unique
We created the ambiances you will enjoy! The cathedral-like windows that stream the outdoors in, the wrap-around deck, the jacuzzi tub, the handcrafted cedar bedstead, the photos, the stain-glass window in the front door are among the unique features of the cabin.
Little Cabin in the Woods is remote enough to give you the feeling of solitude yet close enough to Jasper to allow you to run into the grocery story to pick up that forgotten item.
