Uhrenturm Holiday Apartment

The holiday apartment, renovated in 2020 (40 m²), is perched above the rooftops of the spa town Oberhundem. Located in the clock and bell tower of the main house, the accommodation spans three floors and offers you a unique experience as well as fantastic views of the entire castle complex and the picturesque town of Oberhundem.

Escape everyday stress and enjoy peace within the thick walls of Germany’s highest water castle, right on the Rothaarsteig. The library and clock tower offer unique retreats, taking you back to a time before digitalization. In our holiday apartments and in the picturesque spa town of Oberhundem, you experience relaxation far from city noise and busy roads, right in the heart of the mountains. In just a few minutes’ walk, you reach the hiking portal at one of the 12 treasure chests of the Rothaargebirge Nature Park. The premium trail "Auf Esels Pfaden – die Oberhundemer Bergtour" and many well-marked paths promise a true nature experience. The indoor pool and sauna are nearby and invite you to relax. Pets are not allowed. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Der Uhrenturm wurde zu einer traumhaften kleinen Wohnung mit 3 Ebenen im Mittelalterstil ausgebaut, ohne den erkennbaren Uhrenturm Ursprung zu verbauen.Durch moderne Heizungen und die dicken Wände bleibt die Wohnung im Sommer angenehm kühl und bei kaltem Regenwetter würd sie schnell gemütlich warm.In der Wohnzimmerebene hat man einen wunderbaren Ausblick in 3 Richtungen.Modernes Duschbad, TV und eine rustikale Küche (Kühlschrank, 2 Herdplatten, kein Ofen) bieten modernen Komfort.Die Wohnung war super sauber und das obwohl sie überwiegend aus Holz(zb Eiche) mit zig Verzierungen und alten Kronleuchtern besteht.Die 3 Ebenen sind durch 2 Treppen (1 Wendeltreppe) verbunden. Deshalb sollte man für diese Wohnung keine Bewegungseinschränkungen haben. Unsere Gastgeberin war super Nett und hat uns einen kleinen Rundgang, zu den uns zur Nutzung stehenden Bereichen, durch die Burg gegeben und viel historisches zu erzählen gehabt.Über WhatsApp kann man sie während des Aufenthaltes jederzeit erreichen.Wir hatten eine tollen Kurzurlaub und fühlten uns wie Burgherren ins Mittelalter zurück versetzt. :)
