Neustadt is a state-recognised climatic health resort (spa tax) and the climate is particularly suitable for respiratory diseases. There is a hotel in the town where oxygen treatments are carried out. There are several sights in Neustadt and the surrounding area. Noteworthy are the Romanesque church and the wooden Roland of Neustadt. A striking sight is the castle ruin "Hohenstein" (now also with an inn). In the immediate vicinity of the holiday property there is a public barbecue area with an open-air stage where choir singing, hunting brass bands and other events are held. Other attractions in Neustadt include a gondola pond and an idyllic outdoor pool. Hikes to the Poppenberg (steel observation tower) and the "Hohenstein" castle ruins are recommended. A trip on the Harz railway (from Ilfeld station) is also a must. A visit to the "Rabensteiner Stollen" show mine near "Netzkater" is an educational excursion. A visit to the marvellous half-timbered town of Stollberg should not be missed. You can also do something for your health, as there is now also a leisure pool. Other destinations include the Kyffhäuser with its monumental memorial and the Barbarossa Cave. The newly opened western town "Pullman City" in Hasssselfelde is a particular attraction for young and old. Everyone who visits the Harz would like to have undertaken a strenuous hike up to the highest peak in the Harz. For those who are not so keen on hiking, there is the option of taking the Brocken railway to the summit. Excursions further afield include Goslar in the western Harz or the "colourful town" of Wernigerode with its castle. Also the over 1000-year-old town of Quedlinburg with its half-timbered town centre, which has been declared a UNESCO cultural heritage site. The Bode Valley with the Roßtrappe and Hexentanzplatz near Thale should also be shortlisted. This includes the oldest natural theatre stage in Germany, which offers a varied programme in the summer months. If you want to relax in peace and quiet and not have the stress of the road on holiday, Neustadt and the surrounding area offer many wonderful hiking destinations for the less experienced and also the demanding hiker.other sports and leisure facilities : golf, diving (Nordhausen), hiking, cyclingGarden and outdoor facilitiesGarden equipment : barbecue
