Vacation home for 2 guests with 57m² in Osterrade (308281)
Would you like to recharge your batteries in peace, either alone or as a couple? Then the Kleine Oase is the perfect place for you. This old thatched cottage, built in 1861, has been renovated with great attention to detail. As you arrive, even the first glance across the property and at the cottage reveals why it’s called the Kleine Oase. Old trees and newly landscaped flower beds, adorned with artefacts from the past, come together to create a welcoming atmosphere. You enter the property via the driveway, where you can also conveniently charge your electric car at the EV charging station for a fee. A cobblestone path leads you through the garden to the thatched-roof holiday home. Welcome to the Kleine Oase! Here you’ll be greeted by a pleasant atmosphere and earthy colours. Natural materials were used primarily during the renovation. The walls were plastered with clay over wood-fiber insulation and partially painted white with a breathable clay-based paint. All of the house’s original beams were lovingly exposed through meticulous work and restored with linseed oil. The combination of wood and clay creates an earthy ambiance that instantly puts you at ease. The colours of the interior design bring nature into the home. The sandy clay plaster and the green accents of the decor, together with the wooden beams and the handcrafted oak window sills, come together to create an oasis. The floor in the living and kitchen areas is tiled and heated via underfloor heating. There is also wall-mounted heating behind the comfortable corner sofa. Especially on cold days, this gives you the feeling that a stove is cosying up the apartment while you perhaps wind down your evening with a glass of wine in front of the flat-screen TV. The wall lighting illuminates the room with a warm glow. Despite a ceiling height of 2.17 m or 1.92 m under the ceiling beams, this small cottage impresses with its spacious layout. From the living area, the space extends into the open-concept kitchen. The white kitchen cabinets are paired with tiles featuring subtle ornamentation that serves as a reminder of the house’s age. The inviting dining table connects the two living areas. Right next to the front door, behind a sliding door, is the bathroom. The small bathroom with underfloor heating offers everything you need thanks to its clever layout. The door and the sink are one-of-a-kind pieces custom-made for the cottage by the host. The same is true of the steep, narrow staircase that leads you up along the open gallery to the attic. From the gallery, you can look down into the living area. You are now in the bedroom with a small dormer window. You can store your belongings on the shelves and in the nightstands. Depending on your needs, you can choose between the bright ceiling light or the rustic wall lighting behind the skirting board, which also frames the 1.80 m x 2.0 m bed. The bed was custom-built for the Kleine Oase using traditional craftsmanship with mortise-and-tenon joints made from oak that is over 200 years old. This is where your dreams come true. If you’d like to spend your holiday days free of activities, the green garden landscape of the Kleine Oase invites you to linger. It opens up to the south. There are plenty of spots to relax and take a deep breath: Under the walnut tree, whose essential oils soothe both mind and body, a bench invites you to linger. Or you can take a break on the lawn beneath the weeping birch, whose long branches spread out like a green canopy. The fenced-in garden is additionally framed by a holly hedge, so you can feel completely nestled within it. The 1.20 m high metal fence protects dogs from unexpected escapades. A newly built 30 m² terrace, facing southwest, adjoins the cottage. Here, too, there are several eye-catching features that charmingly reflect the house’s historic character. Of course, garden furniture and a barbecue set await you in the newly built wooden shed with a thatched roof. You can also store your bicycles in the lockable shed and charge your e-bikes. With its central location in the inland region of Schleswig-Holstein in Osterrade, your holiday home offers ideal conditions for day trips to the North Sea (e.g., Büsum or St. Peter-Ording) or the Baltic Sea. Alternatively, you can enjoy nature on bike rides along the Kiel Canal and through the Geest and moorland landscapes. [nbsp]
