Type of building: Detached house. size of property: 85m². year of construction: 1630. Experience historical ambience combined with the luxury of our time. The KAISEREINS flat, built on its foundations around 1630 and later extended to become a warehouse, has been sustainably restored and furnished by us and offers you an unforgettable stay. Located in the bustling centre of the UNESCO World Heritage town of Quedlinburg, you can reach the train station, organic food shop, bank, post office, market square or the collegiate church of St. Servatius on the castle hill in just a few minutes on foot.
The friendly organic food shop directly opposite provides you with fresh produce from mainly regional cultivation, a bakery 100 metres away supplies you with fresh cerials every day and the Postbank and Commerzbank in the immediate vicinity provide you with the necessary banknotes through the slot.
The furnishings consist mainly of restored or high-quality handmade furniture in traditional wood construction. A small hallway welcomes you on the ground floor, from where a quarter-turn staircase winds elegantly up to the first floor. Once there, you enter the living area with an open-plan kitchen and cosy seating area, which is perfect for an evening game or two over a nice drink. The comfortable couch with recamiere creates the perfect feel-good atmosphere with an exciting film in front of the flat screen TV or a captivating book, optionally from our small library. Minimalist, abstract works from the "Straka workshop" opposite the Kaisereins flat emphasise the harmonious design concept of the rooms. A ladder staircase typical of the construction period leads to an intermediate corridor on the 2nd floor, which provides access to the 2 separate bedrooms and the bathroom with WC and shower. The bedrooms are each furnished with 1.60m x 2.00m double beds. Natural down and feather duvets ensure a good night's sleep in the cold and warm seasons.
Quedlinburg, situated on the Romanesque Road, is the ideal starting point for excursions to the numerous sights of the Harz region, for example the neighbouring Thale with the hiking area around the wildly romantic Bode Valley, the collegiate church in the Quedlinburg district of Gernrode, one of the most important Ottonian architectural monuments in Germany. Unwind and enjoy the beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Quedlinburg and its surroundings. Taxi, bus station and railway station (also departure of the Selketalbahn partly steam-powered) approx. 5min. Parking for loading and unloading possible in front of the front door, locked car parking 250m away is offered by me free of charge.
If you are travelling with a small child, a baby cot can be provided free of charge on request. We supply our house with electricity from 100% renewable sources through Greenpeace Energy. A modern wall heating system, which is operated by a highly efficient and low-emission natural gas condensing boiler, provides cosy warmth. The clay plaster used in all rooms contributes to the natural regulation of humidity and thus to a healthy indoor climate. By using organic building and insulation materials, we have contributed to the sustainable refurbishment of the building.
