Perfect! Cozy, secure, and comfortable

This studio flat was perfect for our stay in San Francisco, with all the amenities available, and the public transport at the doorstep. A very comfortable, welcoming place for a home base, right in Noe Valley, within easy walking distance of the local shops and restaurants, plus the J line right outside. We could not have asked for a better place, with a private garden, clean and tidy, a well-supplied kitchen, and a bright and clean bathroom. Communication with the host was fantastic, prompt responses whenever we had questions, and polite, helpful, and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Perfect place to stay

I was looking for somewhere that felt like “home” so that I could trek, work and cook at home. I wanted an outdoor space too and being able to see the bougainvillea and have my morning squirrel visit was lovely. Chez’s place was perfect for me and what I needed. It was as described. Chez communicated well and instructions for access are very clear and easy to follow. Lots of small thoughtful appointments and fittings. Right on the MUNI, close to BART and coffee and food. Lots of Lyfts available. Walked everywhere as much as possible. I’m yet to check out and don’t want to. It is one the best places I have stayed at in terms of location and size for what I needed. I shouldn’t compliment too much or I will never be able to book again! And yes, the shower. Don’t underestimate this after a long day trekking !

Overall, this was 4 & 1/2 stars. The entrance gate was unusable due to the wooden gate/door being swollen from the recent rain. We were provided with a garage door opener that allowed us to access the apartment. It was just perfect for our needs.

Staying at this Olive's Gate property was an excellent experience. The information was accurate and Chez was very responsive. The neighborhood is safe and not far from the central parts of Noe Valley and the Mission. Checking in and out were simple. Quiet at night. Comfortable. Great water pressure! Any issues? My wife prefers a softer bed. Great place/stay/experience overall.

Perfect SF getaway

Great location near shopping on 24th street! Also, incredible water pressure, best shower of my life. Chez was accommodating and helped getting us a parking pass prior to our arrival, made parking the car stress free.

Great stay at Olivia’s Gate

Perfect little studio apartment in Noe Valley. Everything was as described. Great neighborhood and location for getting around the city. J Church Muni stop only a block away and BART to the airport is only a 15 minute walk. No need for a car! Will definitely stay again.

Chez was a wonderful host. The unit was well equipped. The shower was fantastic! We do recommend that the heavy wooden door to the street be shaved down at the top. The door was so heavy that I could not pull it open as it was stuck to the frame. My husband could.

Olive's Gate was a wonderful place to stay for our first visit to San Francisco. The apartment was comfortable with all the right amenities, a fantastic shower, and was surprisingly quiet. There is a private outdoor area to relax in and a great neighborhood to walk to. It is the perfect spot to come back to every evening after full days of exploring the city.

Lovely flat in a great neighbourhood

I reallly enjoyed my stay at Olive’s Gate! Great studio with a kitchen and a lovely yard. Chez is very welcoming and flexible on any requests. The flat is very well located, with the train J around the corner and Dolores park at 5-10 minutes walking. I highly recommend it!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Overall OK. No washer/dryer in the unit— listing misleading. Unit itself is directly connected to a garage which contributes to the musty odor of the place. Question about location of washer/dryer not answered by the owner for 4 hours. Owner said we could use the washer/dryer in the adjacent garage— but not until the next day! Certainly no hot tub that was in the listing. No tub at all. Bizarre note left by the owner informing us that we must vacate on time because someone coming in right afterward. Unit itself was clean. Everything worked. Neighborhood was quiet and safe. Owner could have been a bit more courteous. He never called to explain the issue with the washer/dryer. Just a curt text.

Why they chose this property

When I bought this property it was run down and in a good location. There are vistas, city sized gardens and the ability to spend time outside. These seem like luxuries in a city but are prized by me.

Noe Valley is a wonderful neighborhood. It is safe for walking and located with easy access to the surrounding area. Walkscore gives this neighborhood an 86 score that says, very walkable.
