This is a great property, well located, with all the amenities we needed. We had some difficulty connecting to the wifi, but that may have been a problem on our end. I would definitely recommend this property to others!

Absolutely wonderful property!! Houston responded quickly and was extremely helpful. We would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a nice, quiet place to stay that is just a short uber ride away from most of the tourist attractions.

Great stay @ Olive's Gate! Comfortable, clean studio & lovely garden space. Clear communication regarding logistics. Chez, the host, also graciously helped us with a request. For this SF trip we decided not to rent car. Restaurants and Whole Foods are close by. It was easy to use BART & MUNI to traverse the city & travel to/from airport. (Get Senior Clipper card ahead of trip fares are 62.5% less!) Enjoyed attractions in Golden Gate Park, (deYoung Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, botanical garden & Stowe Lake) but the highlight was the SF Love Tour in a 60's VW Van, SO fun! We would definitely stay at Olive's Gate again in the future.

Wonderful location!

Perfect SF getaway

Great location near shopping on 24th street! Also, incredible water pressure, best shower of my life. Chez was accommodating and helped getting us a parking pass prior to our arrival, made parking the car stress free.

Lovely low key spot

Peaceful places with good access to food and transportation can be difficult to find in SF but this place nails it. Comfortable apartment with a great shower and a lovely little outdoors space.

Quiet spot in a pleasant neighborhood

I've stayed at this property a few times and always enjoy it. There's a little outdoors deck and the space feels private and relaxing. It's a short walk from more happening neighborhoods so you can easily go get some food or drinks and come back to get away from all that. Owner is pleasant and accommodating as well.

An Enjoyable Visit

This is a very nice place. Decent-sized we’ll-appointed kitchen, great shower, private deck and garden. No noise issues. Served us well for a two-week stay.

nice stay in SF

Staying at this Olive's Gate property was an excellent experience. The information was accurate and Chez was very responsive. The neighborhood is safe and not far from the central parts of Noe Valley and the Mission. Checking in and out were simple. Quiet at night. Comfortable. Great water pressure! Any issues? My wife prefers a softer bed. Great place/stay/experience overall.

Noe Valley

My Daughter and I stayed here to receive medical treatments nearby. We were pleased with the location and how easy the checkin process was. I noticed that even though it is on the first floor the upstairs noise was very minimal. Very well stocked kitchen, and a really cute private gated front garden. We will be back, Thanks Chez!

Clean and convenient

Olive's Gate was perfect for my wife & I. Not only is the cute Noe Valley neighborhood nearby, but the J line downtown is just a block away. There is also the 48 bus which will take you straight out to the beach. And if you don't feel like making breakfast, Chloe's Cafe down the street has terrific food & coffee. The rental itself was comfortable and clean, and (as others have mentioned) the shower is amazing. Great water pressure, no wait for hot water. Perfect after a long day of walking. We didn't get much of a chance to sit outside in the back garden, but it is a great private outdoor area in which to relax and smell the flowers.

Wonderful Noe Valley location - Remodeling almost finished!

My husband and I have visited San Francisco many times in the last eight years and have often stayed at VRBOs. This one-bedroom apartment is the perfect size for visiting the city as it is slightly larger than a larger hotel room and offers a private patio, which allowed us to open the blinds and enjoy the greenery. The apartment is well-located for visiting many areas of the city as it sits on a bus line and is easily located using any ride share app. The updated kitchen had a full size refrigerator and dishwasher although the later did not work. The kitchen was well stocked with important amenities like coffee, tea, sugar and creamers, and lots of dishes, glasses, and silverware. The queen bed mattress, itself, was a bit saggy in the center as noted by other reviewers and I was glad to have brought slippers because the carpet dingy. The bathroom, was immense, had fantastic water pressure, and had great towels and a nice array of soaps, shampoo and conditioners. We will definitely stay again after the mattress is replaced and carpet removed or replaced. Moreover, Chez was welcoming, amendable to our after-midnight arrival, and responsive to my questions and requests throughout the rental process.

Not for everybody

We live about 3 hours away from San Francisco and I was having surgery at UCSF so I needed somewhere to stay for a few days after surgery to heal a little before the drive home. I told the host this was the reason we were booking when I made the reservation. Upon arrival we realized this property would not work for what we needed it for. The apartment is located on a street with a 22% grade (I got dizzy walking down the sidewalk it was so steep), there is only street parking (it is very limited, most likely not going to get a spot right by the apartment, which would mean walking up or down the very steep hill right after surgery) and during the day you cannot park in one spot for more than 2 hours. I feel like these are things that could have been mentioned by the host. A couple other minor things, the TV is very small and not a SmartTV that we could see and there is no freezer for ice. We spent the night before my surgery and checked out the next morning. I messaged the host to let him know we were checking out early and the reasons why. I did not get any reply.

This is a beautiful apartment located at owner’s home. Located in a nice area of San Francisco. My only difficulty was checking in, because at 72 old eyes only see things marked with good lighting. One of the cleanest and nicest rentals that I have visited.

Olive’s Gate is a very nice private space. Beautiful garden. Privacy fence. Walkable neighborhood.We have stayed here previously. Hopefully we will get a chance to stay here again. The shower is awesome. The living space is very clean. Communication with our host has always been very pleasant. It was great to be able to do laundry, very good machines.

I have lived in Noe Valley for decades and have watched it blossom into a vibrant, friendly neighborhood. I love it in Noe for the warmer climate and the ability to walk to many things from here. The neighborhood gives me a sense of community which is important to me.

Why they chose this property

When I bought this property it was run down and in a good location. There are vistas, city sized gardens and the ability to spend time outside. These seem like luxuries in a city but are prized by me.

Noe Valley is a wonderful neighborhood. It is safe for walking and located with easy access to the surrounding area. Walkscore gives this neighborhood an 86 score that says, very walkable.
