Our listed farm from the year 1806 stands alone right by the North Sea embankment and not far from the little coastal village Bensersiel. After falling into ruin over the years, the gem was completed in 2016 after 11 months of reconstruction. During the renovation, great attention was paid to preserving the old building substance and charismatic details. The new lattice windows and doors are replicas of the 200-year-old originals. The façade was thoroughly cleaned, the grouting was removed and renewed with historically appropriate shell limestone.
Our terrace in the garden in front of the gable affords an unobstructed view of the adjacent bird and landscape reserve. Garden furniture, a parasol and a grill are provided. There are no immediate neighbours.
High ceilings, thick beams and large lattice windows characterize the appearance of the light apartment. Real wooden floorboards, modern furnishing, selected details and the paintings by the local artist Käthe Janssen complete the charm of the apartment. Cooking enthusiasts will enjoy the fully-equipped kitchen. Those who miss their coffee, despite East Frisian tea, will be happy with the Nespresso machine with a milk frother.
It is about 1km to the coastal village Bensersiel towards the east. The main embankment runs in front of the farm, affording a view of the tidal flats and the East Frisian islands.
