Welcome to our summer house on the island of Yxlan outside Stockholm—a newly renovated cottage built in 1911, surrounded by meadows and forest. The house has three rooms, a kitchen, a small bathroom, and two large wooden decks—one facing east and one facing west—as well as a lush garden with a big trampoline for children to play on. There are also a few toys in the house.
It’s just a 10-minute bike ride to a child-friendly beach, and there’s a small kiosk within walking distance.
By car, it’s about 1.5 hours from Stockholm. By bus, about 2.5 hours. By boat, about 3 hours.
A warm welcome!
The space The house is 65 square metres.
On the ground floor, there is a small entryway, a small bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, and a study with a sofa bed (which unfolds into a 160 cm bed).
Large windows on all sides make the rooms feel bright, cosy, and inviting. We have a cast-iron stove in the kitchen and a fireplace in the living room.
From both the kitchen and the living room, there are doors leading directly out onto the deck at the back of the house. It faces due west, and this is where we usually enjoy dinner in the summer. The second deck is at the front of the house, facing east, and is perfect for breakfast or lunch.
In the loft (with full standing height), there is one 180 cm bed and one 90 cm bed.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions at all.
A very warm welcome to Yxlan!
