There is much to discover on Föhr. The capital of the North Frisian island of Föhr is Wyk auf Föhr, with approximately 4,500 residents. Founded around 1700, this small port town—with its narrow alleys and thatched-roof houses typical of the island—boasts a kilometer-long beach of fine sand, beautiful parks, and year-round spa facilities. Numerous restaurants and cafés with ocean views treat their guests to Frisian specialities.
The green marsh island of Föhr is also home to 11 picturesque villages with their medieval churches. Thanks to its mild climate, the island boasts lush vegetation and is therefore often referred to as the “Frisian Caribbean.” Even the one-hour boat ride to the island from Dagebüll on the mainland, through the Wadden Sea Nature Reserve to Wyk on Föhr, helps you slow down
