Here we’d like to introduce you to our private holiday home in the heart of Gotteszell. Our lovingly and comfortably furnished holiday home is located right on the historic Klosterring. It was originally the monastery bakery of the monastery, which was founded in the 12th century. We call it our “Chalet am Klosterring.”
Over time, it was repurposed from its former use as a monastery bakery until it eventually came into our care.
This charming house, which is over 350 years young, captivates with its historic character and lovingly crafted details. It features solid walls and thick wooden beams on the ceilings, which create a particularly rustic atmosphere. Solid wood floors and doors lend many rooms style and character. Vaulted ceilings, curved elements, and exposed sections of wall underscore the unique charm of this old building.
In the small garden, a large terrace with a pergola awaits you. Here, the roof can be opened using a crank to catch the sun, and the side roller shades offer protection from light rain and wind. This invites you to linger, even when the weather isn’t ideal. Additional terraces on various levels, featuring lounging areas or seating, are also available.
You can forgive the house for its occasionally very low door frames and interconnected rooms that aren’t accessible individually. They’re part of its historic charm, a reminder of days gone by, and what makes this “chalet” so special.
Our holiday home offers ample space across 180 square metres of living area for up to 8 people. Two bedrooms and a sleeping area in the upper living room, each with a large box-spring bed, provide comfortable sleep. In addition, there are two more sleeping options in the adjoining room on the ground floor in the form of a sturdy bunk bed. Optionally, the large sleeper sofa in the lower living area can also be used as a sleeping arrangement.
What makes it special is that a sleeping area is cleverly integrated into the cosy upper living room. Please note that this room serves as a central passageway to the two other separate bedrooms. It is therefore particularly well-suited for families or close friends.
The apartment features 3 bathrooms, one of which is very spacious and includes a freestanding bathtub as well as heated floors. The other two, despite their compact size, are equipped with a shower, toilet, and sink.
There are two living areas, distributed between the ground floor and the upper floor.
The upper living room is designed to serve as both a living and sleeping area. In addition to a comfortable box-spring bed, this area features a recliner, a genuine leather sofa set, and a satellite TV with a soundbar. The illuminated exposed stone wall on the left and the solid wood wall on the right create a beautiful ambiance here.
In the lower living room, you’ll also find an illuminated stone wall, combined with thick wooden beams and a cosy, large microfiber couch that can be folded out into a bed if needed. Here, too, you have the option of using a satellite TV with a soundbar. There’s also a pellet stove here for the colder months. The adjoining room features a bunk bed, a large storage closet, and an infrared sauna that accommodates up to 4 people.
The spacious kitchen is also located on the ground floor. Here, beneath a vaulted ceiling, you’ll find plenty of space and a good selection of basic kitchen appliances. Large microwave, oven at working height, dishwasher, induction cooktop, large fridge-freezer, plenty of cutlery, plates, pans, pots, toaster, coffee maker, tray, and much more.
For us, however, the heart of the “Chalet am Klosterring” is the cosy dining room. Here, too, you’ll find an interesting vaulted ceiling, a solid-wood table for 6 people, a comfortable velvet armchair, ambient lighting, a small upholstered corner nook by the window, and additional seating for 2 people. There’s also a pellet stove here for the cold season.
The kitchen and dining room are equipped with underfloor heating.
Conclusion: For us, the “Chalet am Klosterring” is a special holiday home that combines historic charm with modern comfort. The thick, partially exposed walls, massive wooden beams, solid wood floors, solid wood doors, and vaulted ceilings give the spacious rooms a special charm.
Your hosts, the Otto family
