Gémenos, the pearl of Provence, is a tourist hub located at the crossroads of the French Riviera and the Côte Bleue, at the gateway to the hills of Pagnol, Giono, and Cézanne. A town of art, culture, and fine dining. Nestled in a lush green setting, this Provençal village welcomes you and invites you to explore its surroundings. Numerous excursions and walks start right from the house: we lend out our mountain bikes (for 2 adults). The new Gémenos aquatic centre, the tennis club, the renowned equestrian centre, and the Cultural and Sports Centre—all just 3 minutes away—and more.
Aubagne: Birthplace of Marcel Pagnol. The “Sentier de Pagnol” tourist trail; potters and santon makers just 5 minutes away.
Cassis: its beaches, harbour, and calanques, 10 minutes away. Marseille: the Old Port, the Virgin of the Guard, the Château d’If, its beaches, and calanques, 15 minutes away.... Aix-en-Provence: A city of art and culture, 30 minutes away.
Le Castellet: A medieval village with artisan shops. La Cadière d’Azur, the islands of Bendor, Les Embiez, and Porquerolles, etc.
Allauch: Its windmills and nougat, 15 minutes away. The Camargue, Arles, Les Baux-de-Provence, and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, 1 hour away.
Gémenos: at the foot of Sainte-Baume Park, a major centre of Christianity.

Summer festivities in the village: as every year, you can enjoy various activities and shows—some of which are free—at the Théâtre de la Verdure (Les Arts Verts) from July 2 to August 5.

Don’t miss St. Eloi, celebrated from July 29 to August 2; a full programme featuring the sounds of fifes and tambourines, a grand parade, a giant aioli, a craft market, games, and more.


The small loft is comfortable and quiet, move-in ready, and comes with a parking space. An important point: we take great pride in the cleanliness of our rental, which you’ll always find spotless upon arrival. The garden is enclosed and tree-lined, perfect for summer after-lunch naps. There are many Provençal markets nearby (Aubagne, Cassis, Carnoux, etc.). The Gémenos market is held indoors on Wednesday mornings in the village square. Farm stands are also nearby, where you’ll find beautiful, appetising fruits and vegetables. Gémenos, located 900 m from the property, has many shops (bakeries, a butcher shop, a convenience store, etc.). In addition, several supermarkets and hypermarkets are nearby (3 km away) for larger shopping trips. A doctor’s office, health clinic, and pharmacies are also available right in the village. Furthermore, the gourmet cuisine served at Gémenos’s various restaurants will delight your taste buds with Provençal flavours. The swimming pool (9 x 4 m), shared with the owner (1 person), is very inviting and will refresh you first thing in the morning or after a walk in the surrounding area—unless you’d prefer an invigorating game of Provençal boules while waiting for aperitif time.
Please note: In March 2016, we undertook renovations in our studio, which was completely remodeled and expanded to provide greater comfort for our guests. High-end features such as a walk-in shower, wall-mounted toilet, cement tiles on the floor, tile-and-wood flooring, etc., and a mezzanine was added featuring a 140/200 bed equipped with a new Epeda pocket-spring mattress with independent sleeping zones. (The beds are made upon your arrival). Please note: The mezzanine ceiling is sloped (1.70 m) at its highest point.
A BZ sofa bed is located in the living room, equipped with a very comfortable Simmons mattress. If you choose to use it, you can watch a TV show or simply a film on your DVD player for cosy evenings before drifting off into a deep, restful sleep.
