Nice cabin in a quiet meadow. Beware there is no internet on the island ! Be sure to download driving direcyions and code for lock box prior to your trip. Onlyb phone calls we could make ( with Verizon) were emergency only. We also could never get the tv or dvd player to work.

Relaxing Cabin Getaway

Ingrid is a phenomenal host! We have stayed here twice and are thrilled with our experience each time. The cabin is spacious, has great amenities (hello, hot tub!), and Ingrid is very communicative, helpful, and friendly. We love our escapes to Lopez Island and the cabin is the perfect home base for hikes and great food. We can’t wait to return!

Relaxing + Amazing

We LOVED our time here! Bret and Ingrid did an awesome job with this cabin. Our kids loved the open field, proximity to beaches and star gazing at night. My wife and I loved that we were close enough to Lopez Village and the nearby store for quick groceries, but far enough away that we could truly relax and read a book on the back deck while the kids played. Bret and Ingrid's attention to detail was perfect - helpful instructions on everything from the running of the cabin to in-town ideas. Ingrid was easily accessible and helpful with our questions. We had never been to Lopez Island before, but we'll be back. We spent hours at some awesome beaches, saw seals on our hike and everyone on the island is so friendly. If you are looking to getaway, put this cabin on your list!

You hear that?

That's the question I asked my wife after we pulled up to the cabin... She said "no", and I said, "Exactly!" Such a great, quiet and peaceful spot. The cabin is very comfortable and cozy. The bathroom and kitchen are fully stocked with the essentials, and the BBQ on the deck was very much appreciated. With Lopez being a fairly small island, the cabin is within minutes of everything, from kayaking and bike riding, to walking through the Saturday Farmer's Market, and Lopez Village. Ingrid recommended we have dinner at The Bay Cafe, and it did not disappoint. There were several other spots we plan to check out on our next visit! Ingrid and Bret are very responsive and have put together a great place to escape! With the bunk beds, maybe we'll let our kids come along next time... or maybe not.

Relaxing getaway

We enjoyed the coziness of the cabin, the lovely view from the deck, and the relaxing hot tub. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and Ingrid was easy to communicate with. They are in the process of building addition to the cabin, but no construction work was done during our stay. It was very quiet and peaceful the whole time.

Cabin on Lopez

The cabin itself was very nice and had everything the listing said. The living space is all open, including the sleeping areas, but as I was alone it was great for me. The kitchen was wonderful to cook in. The view from the deck is beautiful. The main problem: there is construction of a house adjacent to the rental - literally attached &15 or so feet from bedroom/hottub. This information isn't mentioned & doesn't really show in the photos - the last one of the hottub has a tiny portion you can see. The main sleeping area has french doors opening to the hot tub - which is right next to the worksite. No privacy when crew is there. My weekend was fine, but Monday & Tuesday morning the workers arrived at 7:30am and were there til late afternoon. They were courteous and respectful, but the noise and lack of privacy made a huge difference for my stay. If I would have known, I would not have booked a stay there at this time. It looks to me as if the project will continue on through the summer and beyond. Please encourage the owner to let potential renters know about this situation.

Wanted to love it

I was so excited for my stay and it started out great: Ingrid allowed me to check in an hour early. I realized I couldn’t find the hot tub control panel so I sent another message to Ingrid. I then started to notice how the place wasn’t clean. The remote was coated in filth and there were wrappers in the kitchen. I decided I didn’t even want to use the dirty (assuming) hot tub but wanted the option. I sent another message to Ingrid and never heard back. Like ever. I’m home now and still haven’t heard back from the hosts. Super disappointing for over 750 for two nights (250 being a cleaning fee).

Another amazing weekend at the cabin

This is our fifth stay at the cabin, which I think speaks for itself. We love this property. Hot tub is welcoming, kitchen is equipped for some cooking, and the towel warmers and heated floors in the bathroom are so nice this time of year. Perfect weekend watching bald eagles fly by from the hot tub, watching movies, reading while listening to the rain and venturing into the village.

Okay....but....construction zone & noisy appliances

It was an "okay" property, here are the details... The check-in notes stated that we could check-in early if the property appeared to be cleaned and ready, so we arrived about 20 minutes early. The property hadn't been fully cleaned yet and the cleaner showed up about 10 minutes later and did a reasonable job at trying to finish the cleaning - apparently the original cleaner quit cleaning halfway through (ill?). Not a big deal...but we ended up doing a bit of the cleaning ourselves (dishes). Next....they are building another building immediately adjacent to the rental house (like 8-10 feet away) and at 11am the following morning a big cement truck and a 4-5 person construction crew arrived and poured foundations for 3 hours... loud, dusty, invasive...definitely not a quiet get away....we were surprised by this whole crew showing up, using the house hose and essentially being all over the property that we thought we had rented....not cool. Last...the rental is essentially a large room with only the bathroom being a separate room. The dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer are all in the same room as the living space and they are very loud appliances....too loud to sleep through and you have to turn up the volume on the TV....so....if you stay here, plan accordingly.

Sweet Stay on Lopez Island

This was a great spot for a long weekend with a friend on Lopez. It was my first time in the San Juans and I can't wait to get back. Ingrid's cabin is the sweetest, cozy space. It was such a nice place to retreat in the evenings or when the rains came in. The hot tub on the deck was such a treat! As the description suggests and other reviewers have commented, there are not separate rooms. There is an area with 2 bunk beds (4 beds total) separated by a wall (but not closed off) from a queen bed. This could impact privacy needs for some but for us it was a non-issue. It looks like they're adding on some additional buildings to the property so perhaps that'll serve large groups? Communicating with Ingrid was quick and easy, she was so lovely in answering all our questions and giving us some local recommendations. 10/10 -- hope to stay here again on my next visit!

Great Place to Base for an Island Get-Away

My husband and I and our 11-year-old grandson stayed in this delightful little cabin while we attended a gathering of boaters and bicycled around Lopez Island. We loved the quiet location, the well-appointed living & sleeping spaces, the hot tub, and the blackberry bushes, just ripening in August 😊. I would rent this home again and, in fact, may look to reserve it for a ladies cycling group in the future.

Lovely cabin, pratical and convenient with nice amenities. Very comfortable beds. It might be a good idea to add blinds or curtains to the three large sets of glass doors to afford a bit more privacy.

Really nice cabin, not 2 bedrooms

The cabin is really cute, clean, private/ quiet location. The only downside is that it is listed as 2 bedrooms. They are more like sleeping areas. The entire cabin is one open space and the main bedroom is a bed that is pretty much in the living room. It has 3 walls but the missing wall (and door) is facing the living room. So if anyone were watching TV, or staying up later than you, then you'd have to try to sleep with the lights on and hearing their TV/ conversation noise. Same for the group of 2 bunk beds, they are separated from the other bedroom by a wall, but they are not separated from the kitchen/ living spaces in the house. They open to the living areas with no door. This didn't make a difference for my stay, as it was just me and a friend. But if I were traveling with my kids, or an elderly person who goes to bed early, it would've been problem. If I had a baby with me, I would have been disappointed to not have a door that closes to help eliminate noise from the house, and I basically would have had to turn all the lights off in the home and hang out outside if I wanted to stay up later with the rest of the family. So I just recommend keeping that in mind so you are not disappointed. I didn't use the hot tub. The kitchen was nice and stocked, the outdoor space is great, pretty bathroom. Altogether a great stay. Lopez Island was really pretty and we had a great time hiking, watching sunsets and hanging out in town!
