***Starting with the summer 2021 schedule, D2Cabin is moving to a Friday to Friday rental week. This only affects June, July and August. All other dates are available for any check in day with a 3 night minimum.***

D2Cabin is located just west of the Northern Highland State Forest in Arbor Vitae which allows plenty of public hunting opportunities. Caywood Shooting Range is about 1 mile away. Private snowmobile access to the groomed snowmobile trail. This cabin has a living room, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, bathroom. Outdoor deck, fire pit, grill and private lake access across the road. A screened gazebo allows bug-free outdoor dining. Private pier with boat and oars provided. Large wooded property with no homes on either side. Satellite TV and Wi-Fi included. Natural gas heat, super insulated to keep cool in the summer. Basement with shelving for coolers, fishing gear, snowmobile equipment,etc. Washer/dryer included for your use at no charge.
This cabin has been totally remodeled with your safety and comfort in mind as of May 2014.

Felt like home

From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were home! First of all, the whole house is super clean and uncluttered. It has all the basics and everything we needed. There was even room to store our things in the closets in the bedrooms and the bath room. The water pressure was great and and hot. We loved the manicured backyard and spent many hours sitting outside. We didn’t have any problem with mosquitoes. We did some bike rides, which was easy from the property. Not even a mile away is the Northern motel and café, which serves breakfast most mornings. Even though the dock is across the street from the house, it was easy to walk to and we enjoyed paddling on the lake with the loons and eagles. In the middle of the lake is a buoy which marks a shallow sandy spot and is fun to get out and swim. Fishing was good, plenty of northern and largemouth were caught.

Unexpected Fishing Trip

This is our fourth summer staying at D2 Cabin, but our first time bringing our fishing boat. Our vacation turned out to be a fishing trip with a few outings for ice cream. We ended up catching bluegill, crappies, perch, and walleye. It was enough to have a couple of fish dinners. The Ninja blender was something new for us to try, and we ended up buying one when we got home. As always, we enjoyed our stay and appreciate the cleanliness of the rental and its property. We look forward to going back again next year!

Super clean and well-equipped cabin

This was our third stay in D2 Cabin and once again it provided all that we needed for a tranquil week "up north." Easy lake access, pine trees all around, quiet road, well-equipped kitchen, fire pit, outdoor picnic table, separate screened-in cottage, plenty of closet and storage space, fabulous shower. Close enough to Minocqua for grocery shopping yet feels like wilderness. Exceptional value for money.

Great cabin with wonderful hosts!

The cabin is exactly as described on VRBO. We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and will be going back for another future vacation. There were loons on the lake, bald eagles flying overhead and deer walking in the woods by the cabin. The panfish were abundant off of the dock and we enjoyed a fresh fish fry. The hosts are wonderful and took care of a small issue within minutes of being notified. Overall a definite 5 star experience.

Another year and another great vacation at the D2 cabin. Clean, comfortable cabin, beautiful scenery, great fishing ( better than last year, at least! ) and super friendly people. Thanks Dave and Debbie for another awesome vacation!

Winter retreat

The cabin is very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped. Love the new Ninja Blender, could use some sharper knives. The location is midway between Minocqua Winter Park and Winman ski trails. The bathroom and shower are wonderful. It is very convenient to have a washer and dryer in the basement and a nice entry way to take off and store coats, boots and equipment. The cabin is perfectly set up as a good place to stay when pursuing outdoor activities.

Labor Day Weekend

This was our third summer back at D2 Cabin. We always enjoy staying at Dave and Debbie's cabin. It's always clean, organized, and has everything that we need. However, this time the weather was unseasonably warm. I was wondering how it would be without A/C, but it was actually pretty cool inside! We kept the windows closed during the day and opened them during the night and it was still comfortable. We're looking forward to our next trip up north next year.

Great Get Away in the Woods

This was our second time to stay at this beautiful little cabin in the woods. It has everything a person would need and then some. It is very comfortable, cozy and inviting. It is in a good location, is very clean, kitchen is comfortable and well supplied, and has a nice tv for those who like that. The beds are very comfortable and we liked the bedspread so much that we came right home and ordered one. We enjoyed the location and had fun fishing from the dock. We hiked, went to Lake Placid for breakfast and Four Seasons for a fish fry. Both places had good service and delicious food. Deb and Dave are easy to talk to and made sure our stay was comfortable. You can tell that this place gets tender loving care. The knotty pine throughout is beautiful and makes the place cozy and homey. Thanks for the use of it.

Great stay

Nice lodging and clean all you need is provided. Great neighborhood and lake it is very quiet. A plus is a fish cleaning station in the woods near the back of the house.

Lakehouse home

This home was well taken care of with everything a person needs. The hosts Debbie and Dave are super hosts and they are just a phone call or short walk away. Had the best time here and the girls loved the kayaks and the lake. The lake is very clean and fishing was good. Looking forward to coming back next year and we will be able to bring our fur babies which will be nice. Just want to give a big THANK YOU to Debbie and Dave for hosting this home. Excellent place to stay

This is our second time staying at D2Cabin and it was just as nice as we had remembered. Very clean and homey. Debbie was very welcoming to us and our puppy. She was also very helpful in offering suggestions of things to do while we visited since the weather wasn’t favorable for snowmobiling.

Two and half weeks at D2Cabin

The cabin is conveniently located between Minocqua Winter Park and WinMan park for cross country skiing. It is clean and well kept, also very cozy. The bathroom is to die for! The kitchen is ample for most needs and well stocked with cookware, etc. Since I do more cooking than most, we found the kitchen a little small for the length of our stay. The basement laundry is very handy. The property is quiet, nestled among trees but not far from the highway.

Cozy cabin

Awesome place to stay. Location is great with access to the lake. Great ice fishing. Owners are wonderful and was there for anything we needed. Place was spotless and has everything you need. Lots of wildlife. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect Getaway

This was the ideal spot for our four day break in this beautiful area of Wisconsin. Well equipped, comfortable and peaceful. Debbie (who lives next door) met us at the warm property on arrival, and Dave was quick to react when we needed assistance at one point. Excellent shower! Highly recommended.

We love Little Spider Lake for the beauty and convenience of the area. We enjoy seeing the deer, fox, loon, eagles, ducks and fish on a regular basis. A short ride to Woodruff or Minocqua offers unique shopping and dining opportunities.

What makes this property unique

Most of the time, we enjoy staying by the lake to take advantage of the relaxing atmosphere but also enjoy being able to walk, bike, swim, boat and hike. We are also on the snowmobile trail so winter is a fun time too.
