About the host
Hosted by Owner / Manager
We’re a family-run business based just outside Ely, Minnesota, with a long history of helping guests experience the beauty and solitude of the Northwoods.
For generations, we’ve shared our love of fishing, paddling, and quiet mornings on Moose Lake with families and friends who return year after year. Hosting gives us the chance to introduce new guests to the rhythm of the wilderness—slow mornings, sunset paddles, and time together that’s uninterrupted by screens or schedules.

Why they chose this property
Moose Lake sits at the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and looks directly into Canada’s Quetico Provincial Park. It’s remote enough to feel truly wild but still accessible by car.
We chose this spot for its panoramic lake views, quiet shoreline, and direct access to wilderness travel. Shorewood sits just above our main landing, offering easy water access while maintaining a sense of separation and privacy from the day-to-day outfitting activity below.

What makes this property unique
Shorewood is one of our largest and most versatile cabins, perfect for families, small groups, and reunions.
Its 20-foot vaulted ceilings, split loft, and screened porch overlooking the lake give it the feel of a true Northwoods lodge. What makes it truly special, though, is the balance it strikes between comfort and wilderness—you can sit by the fireplace one minute and be in a canoe heading into the BWCAW the next.
Many groups choose to rent Shorewood together with the neighboring smaller cabin for a multi-family getaway—gather together during the day, then retreat to your own space at night.
