About this property
Lemon Tree House In Malona<br>1476K91000412901
Located in the center of the typical Greek village Malona.
A wonderful opportunity to stay in a traditional Greek village stone house, this house have been renovated a few years ago using traditional and Eco friendly techniques and materials.
The Village House is situated next to the central square and the main church, only 5 minutes drive from the beach.
This rustic Greek charm that cannot be experienced on a regular type of holiday. The joy is in the independence away from the mainstream tourism areas of the island, you can choose when to join the hustle and bustle of other visitors to the island,
Here you will escape and explore the wilder, emptier parts of the island, happy in the knowledge that when you arrive back to your holiday home, everything you could need will be waiting for you.
Malona Village is easy to find among many great beaches. You can choose between the beautiful golden beach of Agathi, and the pretty harbor of Haraki. only 5 min drive
In Malona you will find almost what you need. There are little local shops covering your basic needs. In the main square there are some small traditional cafeterias where you can sit and relax, blend in with the locals and enjoy a Greek coffee.
Fresh groceries are passing with small vans by the local farmers on a regular basis. Waive your arm and make them a signal to stop. They will stop, smile and gladly show you what they have. You will probably find all kind vegetables and fruits you need.
The local fisherman's are also there, they are driving by every morning with their daily catch, where you can get fresh fish for your grill.
Bigger supermarkets are not far away, there is a big supermarket on the main road to Arhangelos on a 10 min drive. Arhangelos is the biggest village on Island. It has almost everything, Shops, Banks, Bars, Cafeterias, Restaurants and small emergency hospital.
Lindos the beautiful village with the traditional Greek white houses is just 15 min away. Over there you can ride donkeys with your friends or family up to the castle. Lindos has 2 amazing beaches on each side with golden sand and blue water. Lindos is the place you will find the really active nightlife, with roof top bars and nightclubs.
Take the bus or drive a car and visit the medieval castle in Rhodes town which is 45 min drive.
Are you driving towards Afandou or Faliraki don't forget to stop by seven springs to take a snack and walk through the 180 meters long tunnel with your family or friends.
Seven springs is an amazing place with a nice restaurant / café in middle of a forest. Clear water is coming up from the ground in seven places called seven springs making a small river through the tunnel ending to a green lagoon. A variety of birds like peacock and river ducks is to be seen everywhere coming close to you hopping you might give them some bread.
More beautiful places to visit is Monolithos over to the wilder areas of which we particularly like.
On a 15 min drive from Malona you can visit one of Rhodes notorious beaches. The Tsampika beach is 2 km long with white sand. Many small tavern as and canteens are built right on the sandy beach.
If you are feet enough take the 300 steps that lead up to the top of the mountain of Tsampika hill. Enjoy the panoramic view and forget to take your camera with you. The well known Byzantine monastery of Tsampika is dedicated to Virgin Mary.
