We had a fabulous time here. The place is just as advertised, beautiful with great views and clean. Beautiful trees and flowers and a large back yard, very private.The pool was really nice to have and we used daily. We walked to the close by beach and watched the surfers. We also walked over to the beach that was approx. 10-15 min walk over the hill. Nice beach with very shallow water.The kitchen is well stocked and the place has everything you would need. Communication with the property was very good and they were helpful with any thing we needed. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home We loved it!

I could go on an on

The house is in a magical setting and it was a truly beautiful experience to be there. The beds and bathrooms are comfortable and luxurious, the pool and veranda are luxurious, the view is spectacular, the landscaping is very "Versaille", and the location cannot be beat. I especially loved the easy access to great walking trails right out the back gate. The supermarkets are close and convenience, as is St. Francois, with all of its great restaurant options. We stayed 7 days and never lost that WOW feeling the whole time. We are hoping and praying that we can return some day soon.

Within the sound and sight of the surf

We loved the stay at the house. The house itself was spacious, but also indoors blended into the outdoors. Beyond the well-tended property was the view of the ocean. What more can one ask for on vacation?? Thanks for your hospitality, Alain.

Our stay at Villa les Goelands was absolutely wonderful! The house and property were perfect especially with two young kids. WiFi was good as well. Everything you need was provided. Alain was very helpful and very nice. I would recommend this villa to everyone.

Home away from home

We loved this house and its location. We were greeted by Alain- the owner, who walked us through all the intricacies of his property. The house is on the top of the cliff, short 2 minute walk from a surf beach. My husband is an avid surfer so this was perfect. The sandy beach was also not too far- 15 minute walk on a nature trail. The sunsets at the house were stunning. We had all the comfort we needed and more! Perfect spot for a family or few friends. We hope to go back again!

My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with both the island of Guadeloupe as well as the beautiful home in which we stayed. There really is no way to describe the beauty of the place but to say that it is enchanted! The garden is lit beautifully at night and during the day, the view to the surfer's beach is extraordinary. It is possible to access this beach by footpath from the villa, continue to the beach and up the side of the hill where beautifully maintained and shaded trails await. Alain, you are a fantastic host and we look forward to seeing you again someday soon!

Magic house and location!

The house fulfilled all our high expectations. Our family of two adults and two teenagers loved this house because of the location with a few meters down to the surf spot, 10 min walk to the wild beaches of Bois Jolan and the calm location (only sound from birds, waves and palm trees). In addition, a magic garden with palm trees for well appreciated shadow, beautiful flowers and overlooking the ocean. Great pool and pool area, BBQ corner for out-side dinners and three bedrooms with bathroom which made teenage family life very easy. The two outside hammocks were also very used during the stay. The garden side of the house is an opening (no fixed wall), making inside and outside nicely connected (the opening is closed by shades in the evening). We would love to come back!

It would be hard to imagine a more perfect Caribbean getaway. Not fancy, but classically laid out in the open Antilles-style, the house is well-appointed and wide open to the warm breeze and sounds of the surf on the beach below. The large yard, centered around a singularly beautiful flamboyan tree, was gorgeous, as was the view over the ocean towards Marie-Galante. A popular surfing beach is steps away and a long hiking trail is accessible just below the house, as well. Alain and Patricia were responsive and very friendly - both before our stay and during. Because there are no screens and the house is open unless you are away, you're sure to encounter some bugs, but they were never much of a nuisance. We would absolutely love the chance to stay at this beguiling home again.

Special post exams family holiday

This is an amazing property. It is spacious and brings living outdoors in. There are three bedrooms each with their own bathroom which worked really well for us with a teenaged boy and girl in our family. The kitchen is very well equipped, there is a laundry room and efficient air Conditioning in the bedrooms. The gardens are beautiful with mature trees, and lovely areas to relax including a hammock under the trees. There is a lovely pool to cool off in. Just below the property (only a two minute walk) is a surf beach which was one of our main reasons for booking as my husband and kids surf. The beach is not great for swimming as it’s rocky and the waves are quite rough, however there are plenty of other nearby calmer beaches for this, Alain and Patricia were extremely helpful, replying very promptly to any questions we had both before arrival and during our stay- great hosts! Overall probably the nicest villa we have stayed in anywhere!

Stunning views all day long and a beautiful light show at night in the backyard!

Conveniently located between Sainte-Anne and Saint Francois with walking paths to Plage de Bois Jolan,(nice snorkeling) you can not go wrong with this choice. A leader price and bakery right down the road. Restaurants galore within an easy drive to Sainte-Anne and Saint Francois. We enjoyed Le Poivrier in Saint Francois and Koté Sud in Sainte-Anne(try the octopus appetizer). There are a couple of hotel restaurants, by the house, mango is the best, the bartender is excellent and the bar area is nice for an appetiser, Le Balaou is on the beach, the food is common, you need reservation for both and all restaurants. The pictures of the house are true and accurate. The actual view is better than the pictures. The internet works well, good connectivity in and around the house(in the hammock). A/C works wonderfully in the bedrooms. Open the house up and enjoy those trade winds all day long. Mosquito were not an issue for us. Alain & Patricia were excellent to deal with! Alain is from Bordeaux, I gave him a "wonderful" bottle of american white wine, I am sure he enjoyed it! Alain & Patricia had coffee and milk at the house for us, which was great since we arrived in the evening, merci beaucoup. If your thinking about booking a house in Guadeloupe, I would recommend this one, I think the rental price might be somewhat of a bargain, the hosts are wonderful, and the house is clean and neat with no problems. Many thanks to Alain & Patricia for sharing the house with us, it was a great vacation that my family will enjoy for the rest of our lives. Just stay away from AJ's hammocks as he has claimed both of them.

Superbe semaine en Guadeloupe

Un vrai paradis

Nous y avons séjourné 4 amis durant 2 semaines et franchement nous avons adoré nos vacances. Cette propriété bénéficie d'un cadre enchanteur, le paysage est a coupé le souffle. Idéalement située pour vos excursions, bien sur il vous faut un véhicule pour vos déplacement . La villa est équipée de tout ce qu'il faut pour votre séjour et les propriétaires sont vraiment charmants. Je recommande cette location sans hésitation. On espère y retourner. Une bulle de bonheur !!!!

Nous avons séjourné une semaine dans la charmante villa d'Alain et Patricia, en février, mon mari, notre fils de 17 ans et moi-même. Un réel moment de sérénité, de plénitude, bercer par les alizés et le bruit de la mer.... Une parenthèse enchantée !!! Nous avons pu profiter du calme des lieux, de la piscine fraîche et très agréable en fin de journée, après une journée sur la page de Bois Jolan, à un ¼ d'heure à pied, en passant par les chemins boisés, et de son jardin, face à la mer.! Pendant que notre fils allait surfer sur la page du Helleux, en contre-bas....Du bonheur !! On serait bien resté plus longtemps 😊 Merci de nous avoir reçus, En espérant vous retrouver prochainement sur cette magnifique île !! Fanny, franck et Tom

Le paradis sur terre

La semaine passée dans la maison d’Alain et Pat fut un vrai bonheur. Nous avons tout particulièrement apprécié le magnifique jardin arboré et fleuri avec une superbe vue sur la mer et la forêt. La maison est agréable et très bien équipée. L’emplacement est unique, à deux pas de la plage de Bois Jolan, au milieu de Grande-Terre. Nous recommandons vivement cette location.

Un petit coin de paradis

Merci à Alain et Patricia pour avoir partagé leur belle maison à coté de la mer. Nous nous sommes bien réposés pendant notre séjour. Il y a des belles plages dans toutes les directions ou on peut passer des heures relaxantes. La terrasse était parfait pour le café du matin et l'apéro (happy hour chez nous) le soir. La vue du jardin était magnifique. Nous avons bien appreciés notre semaine chez Alain et Patricia. Merci!

Beautiful and charming

This house is fantastic... very comfortable with all the amenities and charming as well. The backyard is the highlight with a salt water pool and landscaped grounds overlooking the sea.. with a short walk to the beach. We have stayed in 4 houses on Guadeloupe and this is definitely our favorite.

Séjour inoubliable

Très belle maison, très bien placé à proximité de deux belles plages: Gros Sable (2 min à pied avec école de surf) et Bois Jolan (lagon, 10 minutes à pied). La vue est magnifique, le jardin est splendide (éclairé la nuit) et l'équipement de la maison est tout simplement parfait. Nous avons passé un séjour en famille merveilleux. Un grand merci aux hôtes pour leur accueil chaleureux, leur disponibilité et leurs recommandations.
