Beautiful (newly renovated) penthouse apartment in the coolest doorman building in Soho/Little Italy. 3/4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, two terraces (can eat outside), lots of light (east, west exposures) and city views.
The apartment is close to many restaurants in Little Italy, Soho, Chinatown, East village. It is just two blocks from Whole Foods (on Houston and Bowery), and from the Chinatown YMCA with pool and gyms. The New Museum is around the corner; and you'll find jazz and rock clubs, theaters and performance spaces in nearby Lower East Side and East Village. Why they chose this property
Barry is originally from NYC and he always wanted to move back here which he did in 1989. I arrived in New York in the same year from my native Budapest.
What makes this property unique
The building has a beautiful inner courtyard; pretty rare in our neighborhood. It also has a beautiful public park, decked out with Italian statuary, called the Elizabeth Street Garden (elizabethstreetgarden.org) right in front of the building. From one of our balconies, we used to see the old WTC buildings - and now we see the just completed One WTC.
