Pissouri Bay, just 4kms down from the village, has a beach that is the proud holder of a blue flag award and boasts a shoreline that extends for two kilometres. There are a handful of tavernas and restaurants that offer a selection of local and international cuisine here in the Bay plus mini-markets, a bank and diving centre.
Heading back towards the airport there is the village of Mandria that has a fine selection of local tavernas and a fish 'n' chip restaurant that is a must to try. The port of Paphos has everything one could want in a Mediterranean resort, from fascinating museums and archaeological sites to water sports and department stores and large supermarkets.
If you want to get back to nature then there are the spectacular Troodos Mountains to explore which are peppered with ancient monasteries and even, in season, you can try one of the the four ski slopes the range hosts.
To sunbathe and swim at the most photographed spot on the island, take the coastal road towards Limassol and drive for only 3 minutes and you will arrive at Aphrodites Rock (Petra Tou Roumiou - Rock Of The Greek) where classical mythology has it was the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Grecian goddess of love and beauty.
