The hosts were very communicative. Property was perfect for hosting a gathering of family with the different room types. Location is hard to beat with its proximity to the ocean and other getaway staples like a grocery store and a brew-thru!
This property was great for our trip. It was close to the beach, restaurants, grocery stores, and retail shops. We had 6 adults and there was plenty of room to spread out... The hosts were very good communicators, spelled out all of the property specifics clearly, and left no questions unanswered. We will be looking this one up to see if it's available on our next trip to OBX.
The property was exactly matching to the listing. Everything was clean and well-kept. There was more than enough room for myself and guest mates. I would definitely stay at this place again if I were to visit Nag's Head.
Came to enjoy the 4th of July weekend. Plenty of rooms for our family. We had a great time. There are plenty of restaurants shopping grocery stores. A little bit of a walk to the beach so bring a wagon to carry stuff but know you’ll have to carry over steps at the beach access.
Great place and location! Walkable to the beach (5 min) and right behind Ben Franklin (our favorite souvenir shop). Comfortable for our group. Well stocked kitchen and big sectional couch so we could all fit in the family room. Note the downstairs rooms are not connected to the upstairs rooms (need to use the outside stairs) — which worked for our group.
We originally planned on having the whole family down at one time, but we all know things change. We did end up having time with all the family just not all at once. This house is perfect for a family because of the two levels, some of the smaller familys can have their individual rooms on lower level with their own access. Location was amazing and you also have a nice yard area! One of my new favorites and the property managers were fantastic at helping out with all our questions. Seriously, great place and great location!
The house was great! Great location and we could walk to the beach. I think it was great communication with the owners when we had questions. We used four of the five bedrooms, and the house overall was was very charming and pleasant.
This property is very well maintained. Everything was clean, everything worked well, and everything listed in the details is accurate. Hosts are also quick to respond to questions.
My friends and I traveled to Nags Head to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We had a great time. Cottage was close to the beach and a reasonable rate. We had a little trouble with the internet but the owner responded quickly when we reported it. Otherwise we had everything we needed for this trip.
Everything went really well. Walking distance to the beach and more than enough room for the 10 people. The only thing that was an issue was the internet. With more than a couple people on it, it became unusable. Cell phone service was good though so it wasn’t really an issue. Overall, great place and great stay.

Unfortunately the internet provider had significant connectivity issues after a series of powerful thunderstorms in the outer banks mid-June and into early July including a lightning strike that damaged our cable modem and router. We replaced the equipment working with the service provider; however, we continued to experience internet connectivity issues. As a result, we put a service ticket & the issues have since been resolved.
DO NOT STAY HERE. The down stairs had mold to the point you could see it on the piece of paper that was on the fridge . Our bedroom had an insulin needle laying on the floor so OBVIOUSLY no one comes to clean between visits. As well as the sweltering heat upstairs made it unbearable to even sleep in the bedrooms( no ceiling fans). When we tried to set the AC to a normal temperature so people upstairs could sleep, at the end of the trip the owners sent us a $720 bill from their own AC company to “re-program it” when it was already re-programmed back to their original settings. Your view is an auto shop and a super far walk to the beach if you are carrying anything. The house is extremely out dated in every aspect. Scam artist at their best.

DO NOT RENT TO THIS PERSON. This traveler showed no respect for terms, conditions and house rules during this rental. As for the comments above we respectfully respond as follows:
First, the cottage is thoroughly cleaned between each rental and to our knowledge there is no mold in the downstairs bedrooms. Additionally, upon day of arrival it is customary for owner to message traveler via VRBO message portal to confirm they were able to gain access to the cottage and inquire whether any issues were noted (we ask each traveler to perform a walkthrough and notify immediately of any issues to facilitate timely resolution). The traveler’s response to this inquiry for their rental was “Everything is great thank you! The only thing we noticed is the under the car port that light doesn’t work but besides that all is good.” Response to traveler noted carport light is motion activated and does not run during the day. Beyond this, the traveler never contacted owners during their stay about any issues with the property (e.g., as traveler noted diabetic needles & mold) nor has any evidence been provided in support of this claim except for it being reported through this review.
Second, HVAC issues noted above by traveler were never reported to the owners as required through pre-check-in instructions to allow for timely remediation. Instead, the traveler (as noted by their own admission above) re-programmed thermostats shortly after arrival to allow AC to run as low as 65 degrees for both the upstairs and downstairs HVAC units, although the claim refers to the upstairs having a “sweltering” temperature. This action in and of itself violated the terms and conditions of the rental as noted in house rules/policies on the VRBO website. Re-programing the thermostats involved removing the thermostat from the wall bracket, entering installer set-up mode, which contains settings beyond temperature limits affecting operation of the HVAC system. Thermostats are programmed by owner with limits on temperatures for heating/cooling to protect the HVAC equipment as well as provide adequate cooling and heating levels during traveler’s stay. The owner, who is a licensed heating and air professional, traveled more than 5 hours round trip to ensure no additional settings were tampered with during the travelers’ “re-programming” that could affect a future traveler’s stay, or could impact operation of HVAC system. This is the reason for charging the traveler (which is also covered in house rules). Finally, we want to note no one has ever reported an issue with the property’s HVAC equipment.
On a final note, we take great pride in making efforts to ensure every traveler’s stay is as enjoyable as possible by providing home away from home experience. It is very unfortunate this traveler decided to take matters into their own hands for a property they were renting and also to use this review forum to vet issues that should have been timely communicated to the owners.
6 years ago my family decided to have a family reunion each summer since we live in VT, CT, NC and FL. Everyone agreed agreed on the OBX for this year's reunion. The house had plenty of room, was clean, in a short walking distance to the beach, plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby. Our hosts were great in communicating with us and suggesting about places to go, etc. It's centrally located on the OBX which makes it convenient to so many places.
The house was very comfortable for the whole family. Very close to the beach, and restaurants. Perfect for our vacation! And the property owners were very easy to work with. Thank you!
