Needs to be cleaned
Beautiful location and gorgeous views. Great pool and kitchen. The house needs a deep cleaning and regular quality housekeeping. The refrigerator and freezer had pink mold however using a gallon of bleach and we were good to use them. Mold and algae need attention. There is water damage in the downstairs master room. The day room/4th bedroom reeks of something foul. Even when opening the windows and running fans we could not get rid of the smell. The couch in the living room needs to have the upholstery cleaned. The air vents have not been cleaned in a long time. The outdoor shower was wonderful after we bleached it. Pool toys and discarded pool equipment need to be tossed out. We would have preferred a higher quality of bed linen and towels. The outdoor furniture is rusted and is definitely past its prime. However, if these things are addressed and rectified the experience would be everything you could hope for.

We had a good time at the beach, Caswell Beach is very relaxing and mostly quiet.
We have stayed here before and it was much better. This trip the WIFI didn’t work and they gave us a jet pack which was very slow and couldn’t handle more than one connection. Not great for two adults who were working while on vacation. There were bugs, we did call and nothing was done. We didn’t get to check in until 4pm. When i emailed my concerns to Kimberly I did not receive a response. The guy who came to fix the WIFI said the owner was unavailable to approve a change. While we love this property normally we may have to find a different rental company with better customer service.

Amazing stay
I stayed at 2 cool this thanksgiving with my family and some friends and the house was even more beautiful in person. It was beautifully decorated and had everything you need and more. The location is absolutely stunning. Will definitely be in my plans to come back.

2/10 Terrible

Amanda S.

Comfortable home, unpleasant overall experience
This property is managed by a separate company (I'll call it XYZ), so VRBO is the “middle man” here. That created some problems for us since the information that was listed here on VRBO about the property was not what was listed on XYZ's site. For example, the VRBO listing said pets were allowed and that linen fees were included. We were able to get them to waive the linen fees, but they charged us a pet fee twice, when we had already paid the $150 pet fee when booking through VRBO. Not to mention the hassle of getting a phone call in the middle of our vacation from Donna at XYZ saying that we had booked a property that was not pet friendly and that we were essentially in breach of contract. Donna was pretty rude and did not seem to care that the VRBO listing said that this was a pet friendly property and that we had already paid the fee. There was also nothing in the contract about the specific property not being pet friendly and when my husband called XYZ to confirm the booking no one took the time to walk him through the details, otherwise they would have realized the information on VRBO was incorrect. XYZ is clearly not managing their customer communications very well. Pointing out the obvious here, but if a property is not pet friendly, then it should not say “pet friendly" in the VRBO listing. And if you make that mistake, you should be apologizing to the customer, not charging them more money. To top it all off, the house was not in the best of conditions when it comes to cleanliness. The floors were dirty with dust bunnies everywhere, there were even cobwebs and spiders in some parts of the house. The small room attached to the living room had a terrible smell (we thought mold - and we are allergic). Last but definitely not least, we found dead and live cockroaches every day we were there. We saw them walking on the kitchen counters. It's clearly very unsanitary and made us a little grossed out when cooking. The furniture and home itself is comfortable and the stay would have been exponentially better had the home been taken care of a little more diligently and the communications better managed by BBR. We have photos of everything mentioned here, the cockroaches found, the dirt, cobwebs, and the screenshot of the VRBO listing saying that the property is pet friendly and we're glad to share them with the owner.
