Beautiful Captain's house built in 1703. Old charm Nantucket history with all the right amenities. Renovated two years ago. The main house has six bedrooms, 1 king, 4 queens and 1 full with a total of 6 1/2 baths. Five out of the 6 bedrooms has an attached full bath one with a bathtub. The 6th room (BR 2) has it's own full bath located just down the stairs. Powder room located off back TV room. Two main family rooms with large flat screen TVs. Two dining areas. Newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms. Laundry just off the kitchen in the main house. WiFi, Central air. Two bedroom Cottage located in back of the main house, one room has a queen 2nd room has two twins, with a full bathroom, full kitchen and living space with lg flat screen TV, WiFi, window AC units, and separate outdoor space. Large yard between the main house and Cottage with a large cedar play area, dining area, fire pit, outdoor shower and ping pong table. Main house comfortably sleeps twelve and the Cottage sleeps 4. Plenty of beach supplies and beach towels for your use.

Our family currently lives in downtown Chicago. My husband is from the Lake Bluff, IL (suburb of Chicago) and I am originally from Iowa but made Chicago my home base after graduating from University of Iowa in December 1991, where I worked as an ICU nurse. I am currently a "stay Home Mom" of a 13 yo girl and a 9yo boy. My husband is a graduate of Lake Forest College and currently runs his own business.

Why they chose this property

The property, while originally was a ship captains home was converted into a bed and breakfast in the mid-1970's called the Stumble Inne, my husband having traveled to the east coast and worked there during his summer breaks during college wanted to make a change and run an inn. We changed the name to "la Ruche Inn" in 2003 and ran it as and inn for 3 years. Once my daughter was old enough to go to pre-school we decided to return to Chicago in 2006 and convert the inn back to a home, made structural changes and renovated the kitchen. It is now a home again that we rent out by the week and visit when we can.

What makes this property unique

The home is close to town and all Nantucket has to offer. The unique charm of the house reflects the islands charm. There is no other place like it.
