About this property

Private modern cottage with stunning scenery and direct water access

Our Nature's Haven is an attractive eco-compact home sitting on a lush property in Ste-Brigitte-de-Laval within a short drive of beautiful Québec City.

THE NATURAL SITE
This contemporary house boasts forest views at every turn. Right from the house, you'll have direct access to a free flowing river with crystal clear water where you can swim or fly fish for small native brook trout or simply enjoy family time, right at your doorstep.

Yours to enjoy are a very private nature footpath and stream, landscaped lawn and river views. Lots of room outside to run around, even to put up a kiddie tent. Although secluded and private, the home is not isolated and sits within an 8-minute ride to town for your daily needs and shopping: IGA supermarket, Familiprix drugstore, gas stations, SAQ wine & liquor store, carwash, café-boutique, restaurants, convenience store, etc.).

THE HOUSE
The house’s striking modern design in such a serene setting offers modern amenities and wonderful indoor-outdoor flow. The three bedrooms on the second floor offer sleeping arrangements for a maximum of 6 guests (4 guests sharing two double beds + 2 young children in two single bunk beds) and give access to a bathroom equipped with in-floor heating. The bathroom on the first floor features a walk-in ceramic shower and also in-floor heating. Airy and inviting, the kitchen has modern amenities. Note that the BBQ is available in summer only. A dedicated workspace with high-speed Internet connection (150Mbps download/20Mbps upload) provides flexibility for remote work.

For quiet time, step out onto the screened porch only feet from the river or lounge on the upper deck overlooking the property.

THE ACTIVITIES
There are plenty of attractions and activities nearby to keep you busy for days. Just minutes away sits Québec City, one of the most beautiful cities in the world named as one of the World Heritage sites from UNESCO. There are museums, the Château Frontenac, gourmet restaurants galore and a thriving cultural scene.

And lots of other fun and nature outings are nearby. The breathtaking Parc National de la Jacques-Cartier is a short day trip from the property, don't miss it! Also worth a visit are the Indian Reserve Huron Wendat, the Montmorency Falls and Ile d’Orléans.

Our local hiking trails are very popular and only a few minutes away from the property. Right here in Sainte-Brigitte sits a beautiful 18-hole golf course The Alpine Golf and Country club. Also, Sainte-Brigitte offers a sports complex and several playgrounds with swings and outdoor amenities for kids.

Everything we hoped for in a vacation property!

Five stars all around! This property was so unique - such cool architectural and design features. A very special home. Beautiful, comfortable, well equipped. The flow of the river made for some of the best sleep we've had in a long time - and a great fly fishing location for our son. The screened in porch provided hours of reading time during the rain. And the location was perfect for us to take day trips to Quebec City, Montmorency Falls, and Jacques-Cartier National Park. Last but certainly not least, Murielle and Jean were exceptional hosts. They showed us around, made sure we had all we needed, and then gave us complete privacy.

Enveloped in nature

From the start, Murielle provided information on an impressive number of things to see and do in the area. Even with our late arrival, Jean and Murielle’s warm greeting quickly made us feel at home in their beautiful light filled home. The river and the nearby Jacques Cartier Park provided wonderful explorations in nature. We loved the spots of wildflowers and strawberries around the property. We enjoyed relaxing in the house, listening to and swimming in the river, reading, playing games, and watching movies. The kitchen is fully stocked, with everything you could possibly need for times that you cook. As well, we enjoyed the ease of getting to Quebec City to try out restaurants, see some exhibits at the Musée de la Civilisation, and explore the city. We plan to return! There are so many things we still want to explore in the area, and had such a wonderful stay!

Family summer vacation to QC

The warmest of welcomes from Jean and Murielle set the stage for the best vacation! Their home is beautiful, immaculate, fully equipped with anything one would need, and the location by the river cannot be beat. With a short and easy thirty minute drive to Quebec City, we explored the city, visited museums and enjoyed fantastic food. We can recommend this property with great enthusiasm! Thanks so much Jean and Murielle!!

Excellent property in unique setting

We (family of four) inc two daughters(20 & 23) had a wonderful time at this fantastic property. The strong positivity of the owners, for the house, the area and genuine interest in welcoming guests was exceptional. Quebec City and surrounding countryside can be easily accessed(we did whale trip 3 hour run) and also Quebecs unique character can be absorbed. We strongly recommend this location, plus the local cuisine(poutine) and wine was great too!!

The Real Nature’s Haven

Hosts were wonderful and met us at check in to walk through the property and the house. The river was the main attraction, our kids, age 8 and 10. Loved the river, they were there in the morning and afternoon when we came back from walking in Quebec City. They were so excited to get back to the river. Hearing the river water from every corner of the house is just a great overall feeling. House and amenities inside also included everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. Nice chairs to just sit back and relax. This place is definitely Nature’s Haven, wish we could have stayed longer.

The Sanctuary of Zen

You can read the reviews or look at photos of this property but once onsite it will never prepare you for how amazing this getaway is. The sounds of the river, nature and the elimination of any tension comes immediately. The property is spectacular. The hosts are first class. The amenities cover everything you need from the kitchen, rooms with views and sounds of nature, reading nooks, chairs to drink and relax, games to play and most of all privacy without the sounds of a city. The location is minutes away from Quebec City. But regardless, you will rush back home to Natures Haven to soak up everything it has to offer. Bravo from Texas.

Ideal Quebec Experience

This home is beyond beautiful. It gives the perfect combination of access to activities and getting away from it all. The architecture allows the amazing outside to be brought in and the river is a constant presence in both sight and sound. Our kids enjoyed climbing the rocks in the stream and my husband and I read on the sun porch in the evenings. We experienced day trips throughout the area and the distance was very manageable. There is a family restaurant and a grocery store near by. The local trails in the nearby town are beautiful and well kept. We had a wonderful time and Jean and Marielle are amazing hosts.

The real deal

As others have written previously, this is fine retreat if you want peace and lots of surrounding nature. Very well put together, a comfortable house, trees, birds, the river — all close at hand — it was the decompressing experience we needed. The owners were great to deal with too. A genuine 5 stars!

Even better than its pictures show

We've stayed at many VRBO properties, but this one tops our list. The pictures of it are beautiful, but the reality is far better. It is a jewel in a perfect setting -- the river is within steps of the house, the house communicates constantly with the outdoor beauty, and serenity, creativity, and love are evident everywhere you look. We had a hard time leaving the property to explore elsewhere; just being at Nature's Haven is a remarkable privilege. The owners met us when we arrived to make sure we were well oriented to the property (a first in our experience), and they were beyond generous in showing us around Old Quebec a few days later. We have never encountered such a warm welcome before in our travels, and we now feel we have friends in Canada. If you have the opportunity to stay at this remarkable property, consider yourself fortunate! Merci encore une fois, Jean et Murielle!

We’ve enjoyed every minute of staying at this beautiful place! The house, setting, landscaping, views, location and serenity of the place is the best experience in our home -away-from home life. The hosts are amazing! They showed us the secret corners in the woods, welcomed us with French wine, made our stay unforgettable. We hope to make it next year and year after!

Idyllic Hidaway

Truly an idyllic hideaway Our hosts met us when we arrived and gave us a thorough orientation to the property as well as some helpful tips on the area. The grounds are tranquil and breathtaking. The children enjoyed wading in the river and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. The home was comfortatble and fully equipped. Perfectly planned and laid out with minimal maintenance. We cooked every night usually on the outdoor grill. The local fruits and vegetables were at their peak. It is an easy drive into Quebec, about 40 minutes. We met the owners there one day and they gave us a guided tour of the city and took us to a lovely restaurant overlooking the river. What a bonus! We hiked in the national park and another day visited the Parc Montmorency, both less than an hour away. Thank you for a perfect week!

Delightful home in a beautiful setting.

Riverfront is a gorgeous spot. It is quiet and embedded in the natural beauty of the hills. The river provides a audio background that soothes, relaxes and clears the mind. A thirty minute drive has you in the heart of Old Quebec City with easy access to the sights, restaurants, and shopping. The home is well appointed, very well outfitted, and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy.

5 days in Paradise

Nature’s Haven is both beautiful and spotlessly clean. While the house is fantastic, it is the property and location that makes Nature’s Haven a stand out. Have I said “Wow” yet? The house sits above a roaring stream with breathtaking scenery all around. The grounds are meticulously kept with seating areas, paths and a fire pit. We were a party of 4 and enjoyed all of the above. We spent two days in Quebec City, and two days in Jacques-Cartier Park, each about a 40 minutes drive. Honestly, we Looked forward to our return to our own park. Murielle and Jean were perfect hosts. They provided us with all the information we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The photos do not do justice to this property! If you are looking at this property, just rent it! Look no further.

A little paradise in beautiful nature

We (a family of 4) spent 10 wonderful days at this place. To sit in the nice garden and listen to the sound of the river is so relaxing. The house is cleverly designed and contains everything you need for a fantastic holiday. It is situated in the middle of nature and still only about half an hour by car to Quebec city. Beautiful Jaques Cartier National Park is not much further. In nearby St. Brigitte you will find a good supermarket where you can buy everthing for a nice barbecue in the garden. The owners, Murielle and Jean are very friendly and helpful and they have every reason to be proud of their Nature' s Haven.

Magnificent!

This property is even more amazing than can be captured in pictures. The house is wonderful with many windows, and has an upper sun deck and a screened porch. In addition, the private trail leads to a secluded spot by the river, perfect for happy hour. We loved sleeping with the windows open, being lulled to sleep by the sound of the river below. To top it off, the hosts are warm and gracious. Couldn't be better!

Beautiful property!

Beautiful house and property! The house has a dappled (private) trail leading down to the river. It was unusually hot for Quebec when we were there: 90's, but we would cool off with dips in the water. It is an easy drive to Quebec City for the sights. There is also a supermarket right in St.-Brigitte to pick up fresh food for meals. The kitchen was well-stock with supplies to make relaxing meals at the house after an all day tour around Quebec. All-in-all, had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back!

Peaceful Nature Respite

Here is what you really need to know: The owners are absolutely amazing. The property is beautiful, safe, and includes water access, private nature trail, indoor/outdoor sitting areas, and all the worldly amenities of modern society wrapped up in a serene shell. Nearby there is access to grocery, gas, hiking, and a short drive from charming Old Quebec. Our experience was magnificent and we highly recommend staying here.

Don't miss this impeccable home set amidst native woodlands on a wild stream

Nature's Haven affords visitors the experience of serenity amidst architectural and natural beauty. The home is: + Conveniently located: 40 minutes from Quebec City; 45 minutes from Jacques-Cartier NP; 9 minutes from fresh baguettes; and 19 minutes from a lovely local trail. + Beautifully designed: The floor plan creates numerous indoor and porch spaces for rest and enjoyment. + Thoughtfully equipped: This house offers comfortable beds and pillows, cozy chairs, inviting tables for dining or playing games, and a kitchen with every convenience we looked for. It has the best cooking knives of any place we've stayed. + Meticulously maintained: Clean, clean, clean, and also easy to keep tidy as a guest. All that said, our favorite aspects of Nature's Haven involved its setting. The home's location amidst native woodlands creates its distinction: + The lawn area is large enough to provide a sense of openness and space and let the sun shine in. + The woodland trail beckons nature lovers of any age to breathe in balsam-scented air and exhale worries. + The stream is the exclamation mark of Nature's Haven. Its crystal-clear waters welcome you to dunk in, cool your feet or fish (licenses available for purchase in St. Brigitte). Its musicality sings you to sleep at night. Hosts Murielle and Jean are conscientious, attentive, friendly and helpful.
