About this property

Authentic Italian house with spectacular views of Lake Como and private parking

Welcome to Casa Fitzcarraldo: our 8 person family house which we (a Dutch family) own and cherish since the year 2000.

The house is over 100 years old and offers a wonderful rustic atmosphere. It lies circa 100 meters above the lake in an old 'borgo' without traffic. The house has modern facilities and provides everything you need. It does have various stairs so is a bit less suitable for guests who have difficulty walking.

Centrepiece of the house is the huge terrace with magnificent views on Lake Como. A long stairway provides direct access to a little beach at the lake.

We have a reserved parking spot at 100 meters distance from the house.

The region around Como has a lot to offer. Enjoy the lake's refreshing water in summer. Visit the many nice villages (also by ferry), the famous Bellagio or the city of Como. You can also drive into the mountains for hiking and beautiful views of the Alps. Of course there are many good Italian restaurants and agriturismos. And cyclists can make fantastic rides and must visit the Madonna del Ghisallo church.

Really nice house in a quiet village. Excellent walking and hiking at your back door. 15 minite drive to Bellagio. Beautiful views from 2nd floor balcony and 3rd floor bedrooms. Easy check in and check out, thoughtful and hospitable hosts. We loved it!

A great stay in an authentic Lake como village

We had a great stay for just about a week in early June. The apartment was great, peaceful and near great outdoors activites for hikes, trail runs etc. Definitely will come again.

Beautiful Place With An Amazing View

We spend 4 days at the house from family de Kraa.The house is a beautifully place in a small peacefull area at lake come.The house with his four floors is a very nice place to spend time at lake como. Everything was nice and clean and enough space for the 7 people of us.We really enjoyed our stay. We spend hours at the terrace. The view is so beautiful, the whole day.We used the canoes down at the beach, just a few minutes from the house.Family de Kraa was so nice with us. They shared a lot of informations and tips. Thank you so much. We had a great time.

Hidden Gem on Lake Como

We loved our stay in Lezzeno. The place exceeded all of our expectations. It was warm and cozy. Well equipped and had tons of character. We loved everything about our stay. Easy lake access, good restaurants, great place to cook in and enjoy the amazing views.

Beautiful house and views

Truly enjoyed staying at Casa Fitzcarraldo. All amenities were as described and the lake views are outstanding. Maybe a little tough to find depending on mode of transportation or for travelers not in the best of physical shape. The homeowners were easily accessible to answer questions and their suggestions for touring and restaurants were excellent.

Wonderful discovery of Como lake near Bellagio

Really a great time spent with our family. Such wonderful views on the lake from the house and the beautiful terrace!! We loved it. We will remember the speed boat tour and the nice restaurants ! The host made our stay agreable, with the help of the friendly neighbour :)

Loved every minute of our stay!

The location is wonderful. We were glad we didn’t stay in Como. Bellagio was wonderful and we loved Crosso del Misto Hotel and Restaurant and pool Just across the street. The house was clean, comfortable and well laid out. It was perfect for 2 couples. I would not recommend for a larger group if you are coming in the summer as the 3rs floor is very warm.

Beautifully renovated home on Lake Como

Our family of 6 loved staying at this renovated home in Lezzeno, on Lake Como. Your leg muscles will get a good workout walking the steps to the lake, but it is absolutely worth it. We used the two red kayaks that came with the home every day and found the kitchen wonderfully full of all the things one needs to cook a meal. Located approximately 15 minutes from Bellagio, we loved the location and the view of the lake is lovely.

Beautiful house, beautiful neighborhood

We had a lovely stay! However, we did arrive after 20+ hours of travel, not realizing how remote it would be. No chance of finding groceries (thank goodness the local restaurant had a table available and served delicious food, but still nothing for breakfast the next morning- the bakery was closed). We did have difficulty finding it as well, as our phones were not connecting to service properly (completely not their fault- another victim of our long travel day!). Overall, I would highly recommend this beautiful house, but not as the first place you head to after a very long travel day!

The authentic Italian rural experience.

If you want an old home with modern amenities like USB ports to charge your cell phone, a great stove, and large comfortable beds, and an amazing view, this home is for you. It is not an easy stroll to restaurants or grocery, but we did not care. We cooked our own meals every night and sat on the patio to eat and drink wine and stare at the views. The supermarket Migross in Bellagio has great selections of meat and breads, but is not open on Mondays. The small mini market in Lezzeno has a few things in a pinch. You need though to buy dishwasher soap, and shower soap. None was provided. Also buy toilet paper and paper towels. We were out on adventures during the day, and back for the evening. Luckily, we always found a parking space. The bath towels could have been bigger, but showers and toilets worked well. There is a walking path just outside the door that leads to Nesso if you want to hike a little. This wonderful house is rustic and out of town, so a car is necessary. It was our kind of relaxing vacation. The lake was warm but the walk to it and back is not easy. Many steps. Good cardio workout. Our group of two couples would definitely stay again. We love Lake Como.

Das Haus hat eine tolle Lage mit einem fantastischen Blick über den Comer See.Die Ausstattung ist gut, allerdings haben wir das Haus komplett gemietet, haben 3 Personen angemeldet und es waren nur 2 Betten bezogen und das auch nur mit einem Laken, obwohl es nachts schon sehr kühl war.Der Grill war im Gestrüpp eingewachsen und somit nicht zu verwenden.Es fehlten diverse Glühbirnen und wir reklamierten den lockeren Toilettensitz am ersten Tag, der bis zuletzt nicht repariert wurde.Das Haus Ansicht bietet alles was man für einen schönen Urlaub benötigt.Die Gastfamilie antwortete sofort und sehr nett auf alle Anfragen. Die Sauberkeit Ansicht hätte etwas besser sein können.

Wunderschönes und Charme Haus

Das Haus ist toll und hat viel Charme, da es zu den klassischen Häuser an der Küste rund um den Comer See gehört. Dazu gibt es direkt vor dem Haus zwei große Terrassen, auf denen wir die Abende zu Sechst (8 geht auch locker) genießen konnten. Terrassen, Küche, innerer Essbereich, WC sind ebenerdig. Waschmaschine auch. Hier hält man sich meistens auf und hat alles, was man braucht. Küche, Geräte, Geschirr etc ist gut ausgestattet. Und den Kugelgrill haben wir auch genutzt. Wohnzimmer im ersten Stock und die Schlafzimmer auf der 2. Etage (wo auch das Bad ist sowie ein zweiter Eingang / Haus liegt am Hang wie alle rund um den See) und unterm Dach. Zudem ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass es einen Parkplatz gibt!!! Ca 150m entfernt, aber man kann deutlich näher sein Auto ent- und beladen. Passt also wunderbar. Zum See kommt man über besagte Treppenstufen und unten kann man über einen Steg direkt reinspringen. Kanus liegen quasi griffbereit daneben. Ein Mini Market ist in 7 Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Ein Bootsverleih in 10. Restaurant beim benannten Steg. Pizzeria 15 Minuten. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war top!!!Wir empfehlen das Haus zu 100%!

Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung

Die Ferienwohnung war wunderschön und der Ausblick auf den See war Unbezahlbar. Es war alles sehr sauber und gepflegt und die Ferienwohnung ist ausgestattet mit allem was das Herz begehrt.Die Leute vor Ort waren wahnsinnig Hilfsbereit und nett und vor allem sehr kinderlieb.Das einzige Manko ist die Infrastruktur vor Ort. Es gibt keine Supermärkte in der Nähe (der nächste große Supermarkt wäre in Como gewesen wo man 1h fahren muss).
