About this property

Chazelles Castle from the 17th century in a park with swimming pool.

The French village of Avèze, in the middle of the beautiful Auvergne countryside, is an ideal base for an active holiday. The region offers a whole range of activities for families and other groups. Whether you prefer hiking, skiing or playing golf, this magnificent traditional region of France has everything.

The castle has characteristic rooms which have their own bathroom; so privacy is guaranteed. Both the castle and the manor house have a number of communal areas and a kitchen. We rent rooms with breakfast but can also provide for your lunches and diners. If you are with a large group you can rent the whole castle as a groupshouse, even with the other house on the propertie; la Maison de Chazelles (up to 15 persons)

The country estate with its own swimming pool in the village of Avèze is easy to reach and provides a convenient base for a pleasant holiday in the enchanting French countryside. Discover the Auvergne region by climbing the Puy de Sancy (1864 m), admiring the many waterfalls of the Dordogne river, visiting the adventure park Vulcania or walking the ancient pilgrim path to Orcival. The possibilities are endless.

Our cy ling group had a fantastic week in the mountains and gorges. A big kitchen makes catering easy. The gym looked great, but we had enough exercise cycling.Charles is very responsive to any issues.

Très bon séjour, petite déception sur la piscine qui est en réalité partagée

Très beau château, propre et bien aménagé. Les chambres sont spacieuses avec chacune sa propre salle de bain. Le propriétaire qui loge à côté est sympathique et disponible. J'ai tout de même retiré une étoile car l'annonce ne précise pas que la piscine est partagée avec le gîte d'à côté (gîte de 12 places).

Séjour top dans un magnifique environnement. Le propriétaire sur place est hyper disponible et très sympa. Location idéale pour un wk en famille ou entre amis. Seul bémol pour nous la piscine n’était pas encore ouverte Je recommande vraiment cet hébergement

Du potentiel non exploité, hygiène à revoir

Cadre sympathique, grand château avec un beau potentiel ….mais ….. location non livrée à l’heure 1h30 d’attente à l’arrivée , hygiène de la cuisine déplorable (frigo, four, vaisselle…), hygiène des sanitaires du bas non faite ( taches d’urine au sol et cuvette non nettoyée ) tonte de la pelouse par le propriétaire un 15 août à 13 h alors que nous avons du monde à déjeuner, mutualisation du barbecue avec le gîte alors que non notifié dans l’annonce et sans nous demander si nous en avions besoin !, balançoire des enfants dangereuse car faite avec un vieux pneu donc présence de tiges de fer qui ont blessés les enfants, les extincteurs ne sont pas aux normes dernière vérification en 2019 !!! Manque de place de parking pour un château de 20 personnes et un gîte de 12. Seulement les chambres étaient propres. Dommage car le cadre est sympathique

La vie de château à la campagne... endroit très tranquille, non loin des gorges d'Avèze (qui méritent d'être vues), chambres spacieuses et propres, cuisine très pratique quand on est un groupe, grand parc avec de beaux arbres. le propriétaire est vraiment charmant, il fait tout pour que ses hôtes passent un bon séjour ! un grand merci pour cette belle semaine !

Une expérience de « la vie de château » dans un cadre exceptionnel

Château magnifique dans un cadre incroyable, salles communes et entrées impressionnantes, grand style mais adaptées aux enfants , avec grande cuisine suréquipée, chambres bien isolées, une salle de jeux avec fitness, tennis de table et salle de théâtre dans une grande dépendance séparée, Propriétaire sympathique et efficace à proximité. Nombreuses ballades possibles le long de belles rivières durant lesquelles on croise de belles vaches. Le seul bémol fut la piscine où un problème ou un changement de filtrage rendit l’eau sablonneuse et opaque.

Grand calme et adapté à une grande famille avec enfants

Adapté à un grand groupe et avec une salle de bain dans chaque chambre le château permet à la fois de s'isoler et de se retrouver nombreux autour d'une table aussi bien à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur. Environnement paisible et fermes à proximité. Possibilité de suivre une visite de la fromagerie pour découvrir la fabrication du bleu d'Auvergne et de la fourme d'Ambert. Grands espaces permettant aux enfants de se défouler. Accueil serviable.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour entre amis (8 adultes et 10 ados) au château de Chazelles. Chambres très confortables avec salles de bains, literie de qualité, cuisine bien équipée, extérieur très agréable. Très bien situé, nous avons profité de la regions lors de plusieurs super randonnées. Cornelie et Charles sont des hôtes sympathiques et à l’écoute.
