RACE READY HOUSE for Leadville Race Series and more!
Lovely large home in downtown Leadville!
Plan a Reunion, Stay, Ski, Hike, Bike & Perfect for Race teams!
Whether you are visiting for Leadville’s historic landmarks, enjoying recreation opportunities, or in need of rest and relaxation, the Rugged Victorian is the perfect getaway spot. Built in 1888 during Leadville’s historic Silver Boom days the Rugged Victorian has had several additions built on to it over the years. The Rugged Victorian is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Leadville, in walking distance to all coffee shops and pubs, just a few minutes from Dutch Henry tubing/Sledding hill and 15 minutes by car to Ski Cooper.
At 1850 sq/ft this spacious fully furnished Victorian mountain home comfortably sleeps 9. Boasting high ceilings with skylight, new flooring throughout, large rooms, a wood burning stove, a fully equipped newly renovated eat-in kitchen, large living areas with wifi and Roku, and a deck with mountain view and fenced yard, this home away from home captures rugged mountain living at its best with all the comforts of modern living.
So go on, invite your friends and family, get away from the hustle and bustle and head up to the Rugged Victorian!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This is an old home (over 100 years old) with a layout reflective of its age.
1. This is a short term rental specifically for families. We do not rent to companies or businesses looking to house their employees.
2. We NO longer accept pets at this rental.
3. The two patio decks are less than 3 feet from the ground and in CO do not require railings. While we’ve never had injuries and the house is typically rented in winter when the height of deck to snow coverage becomes non existent ( you can walk straight out from deck to snow), we should emphasize that using the deck during summer months when it is less than 3 feet is at your own risk.
4. A detailed vacation rental agreement is sent out after your booking request is accepted. The agreement must be signed and returned electronically. This is not a hotel, it’s a home, our other home, so the agreement we send out helps ensure the Rugged home is not treated poorly by guests as it has been on occasion.

About the host
Hosted by Nawal and Thomas

I am an engineer, my wife is an educator and writer, and both working and living right here in beautiful Colorado.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I have both lived and traveled around the US and the world but there’s something about Leadville… it could be that I have strong ties because I was born and raised there for a short time or that many members of my family have at some point lived, worked and are buried in Leadville. My grandfather Doc Kehoe’s name humbly graces the plaque outside St. Vincent’s Hospital and my grandfather French managed and grew the Federal Fish Hatchery still operating just west of Leadville.
So I guess when the opportunity to purchase the Rugged came about, it was a no brainer. Though when we discovered the Rugged Victorian she was beat up, and in need of love and attention. From paint to flooring, blinds to bedding, we set up the Rugged as our home away from home and we are excited to share the Rugged Victorian and Leadville with you.

What makes this property unique
We love the high ceilings in the master suite, the bay windows in the first living area and the skylight in the main living and upstairs bed room. We walk in, and it instantly feels like home.
