Located on the waterfront, this apartment is in Ribeira, a neighbourhood in Porto. Porto Historic Center and Porto Cathedral are notable landmarks, and if an activity is on the agenda, check out Port of Leixões Cruise Terminal. Crystal Palace Gardens and Porto Botanical Garden are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with power boating and fishing nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with cycling and mountain biking.
The host was very welcoming and helpful. The apartment was as described - a bit rustic but with everything one needs. Yes, one walks from the bedroom across the stairwell to get to the other side of the apartment where the bathroom and kitchen are. The balcony offers an amazing view of the waterfront. We were thankful to have space heaters to at least keep the bedroom area warm as we were there end of January and the weather was raw. We loved the location with so many restaurants nearby.
Louis sent clear instructions of how to get to the station near to his apartment and kindly met us at the station and took us to the apartment, excellent check-in. We were on the 3rd Floor, steep steps - we did expect this. Wished we had had the opportunity of renting the 1st floor as there were two beds in the bedroom. View from the balcony is to die for. The flat was clean, everything is as stated in the listing. A little more care in the bathroom needed regarding the mould. At night, outside could be quite noisy but that was to be expected. You could not wish for a better spot to visit restaurants and bars and also catch a boat ride. You can watch the sunset from the other side of the bridge which is in easy walking distance from the flat. Louis kindly offered for us to leave our cases until we went to the airport but we eventually declined. Check-out, great.

Thank you for your comments. In fact this flat is at the top floor, excellent views. As it is an XVIII century building, no lift.
We are now installing an air extractor because of the humidity in the bathroom when you shower which provoques the mould stains.

Shelley and Cliff came to our flat after one week luxury cruise in the Douro valley.
They have been very nice guests.
Our flat, in an XVIII century building, cannot be compared to a luxury cruise but location of the flat and the river view is great, as Shelley recognized, so I just regret that the evaluation they have given is so low.
Luis was very welcoming . met us at train station and walked us to our room . Accomodations were small and irregular . request third floor for privacy .views and location were 10/10
We thoroughly enjoyed our Porto home. When we arrived, Luis kindly met us in town and accompanied us to the apartment. We loved the balcony view. The location was perfect. There was so much to do in the area, all within walking distance.
We couldn’t be happier with our stay. Luis was super easy to deal with and was kind enough to accommodate our exceptionally late (2:00 am) check in. You can’t beat the location!
This apartment made our stay in Porto phenomenal. The location, the views, everything was great. The owner was very communicative and welcoming. We hope to be back!
It was everything we were looking for! Amazing view for our morning coffee/tea. Walking access to what we wanted to see. Luis met us at the metro stop to guide us to the apartment.
The view from the balcony was fabulous. Nothing like it. The location is great, next to tour boats, grocery stores, restaurants. Etc. Definitely a great apartment
Luis was so helpful. He met us at the bus station and took us back to his place, giving us a guided tour and lots of info. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the wonderful view and watching the world go by.
From the get go Luis was an amazing host. The communication was top tier (we were ready to give five stars before we even stayed there). He also collected us from the train station and helped us find our way to the apartment. The apartment was AMAZING view was incredible and had everything we needed. Thank you for a great stay Luis!
Live like a local with the best view in Porto. What it lacks in glitz it makes up for in a million euro view and proximity to great restaurants, tourist attractions and shopping. Eight minute walk from Sao Bento and be prepared for the third floor hike. Luis provided excellent communication.
Luis is a great host! He was communicating with us long before we arrived and made sure we found the place and provided some great insights to the area. We were able to get the key and drop off our luggage early and go exploring until check in time. It is quite an interesting historical building and the layout was as we expected from the description and reviews. Had all the amenities we expected and just sitting and looking at the view was amazing especially at night. So much to explore close by and short walk to the train station.
The flat is exactly pictured. Amazing view from the balcony. Luis could not be any nicer, even before I met him! We were in Porto during the rail strike, but he helped us reach Porto from Lisbon efficiently and gave many great tips.
Luis is the host with the most! He met us at the train station and walked us to the apartment. He checked in the next day to see if everything was OK.
The location is amazing - a view of the water from the little terrace, overlooked the promenade, right in the middle of all the action.
Kitchen was well equipped, and a nice bedroom.
The building itself is old with a unique layout. You have to walk up several flights of stairs which was ok for us.
Luis the host hospitality was outstanding! He met us at the train station and escorted us to his place! We we so appreciative of his attention to details and his ability to make us feel welcome. The location is right on the river and the place is clean and well run. The kitchen and bedroom have all the amenities and balcony both on the front as well as the back of the residence. It was private and obviously updated over the years. We highly recommend this place. Would come back again for sure!!
If you are looking for a convenient place to visit all that is Porto and Gaia, and you also want an authentic Portugese old time experience, this may work for you. It's clean, and is as shown in pictures. (UNESCO building) Luis is excellent to communicate with and helps you from metro station to the flat. We didn't need alot of space, and we loved watching all the riverfront activities each morning and evening after daytime exploring. Thanks also for all your tips and the map Luis!
