We thoroughly enjoyed our Porto home. When we arrived, Luis kindly met us in town and accompanied us to the apartment. We loved the balcony view. The location was perfect. There was so much to do in the area, all within walking distance.
We couldn’t be happier with our stay. Luis was super easy to deal with and was kind enough to accommodate our exceptionally late (2:00 am) check in. You can’t beat the location!
It was everything we were looking for! Amazing view for our morning coffee/tea. Walking access to what we wanted to see. Luis met us at the metro stop to guide us to the apartment.
Luis is the host with the most! He met us at the train station and walked us to the apartment. He checked in the next day to see if everything was OK.
The location is amazing - a view of the water from the little terrace, overlooked the promenade, right in the middle of all the action.
Kitchen was well equipped, and a nice bedroom.
The building itself is old with a unique layout. You have to walk up several flights of stairs which was ok for us.
The view from the balcony was fabulous. Nothing like it. The location is great, next to tour boats, grocery stores, restaurants. Etc. Definitely a great apartment
From the get go Luis was an amazing host. The communication was top tier (we were ready to give five stars before we even stayed there). He also collected us from the train station and helped us find our way to the apartment. The apartment was AMAZING view was incredible and had everything we needed. Thank you for a great stay Luis!
Luis was so helpful. He met us at the bus station and took us back to his place, giving us a guided tour and lots of info. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the wonderful view and watching the world go by.
Luis is a great host! He was communicating with us long before we arrived and made sure we found the place and provided some great insights to the area. We were able to get the key and drop off our luggage early and go exploring until check in time. It is quite an interesting historical building and the layout was as we expected from the description and reviews. Had all the amenities we expected and just sitting and looking at the view was amazing especially at night. So much to explore close by and short walk to the train station.
Live like a local with the best view in Porto. What it lacks in glitz it makes up for in a million euro view and proximity to great restaurants, tourist attractions and shopping. Eight minute walk from Sao Bento and be prepared for the third floor hike. Luis provided excellent communication.
If you are looking for a convenient place to visit all that is Porto and Gaia, and you also want an authentic Portugese old time experience, this may work for you. It's clean, and is as shown in pictures. (UNESCO building) Luis is excellent to communicate with and helps you from metro station to the flat. We didn't need alot of space, and we loved watching all the riverfront activities each morning and evening after daytime exploring. Thanks also for all your tips and the map Luis!
The flat is exactly pictured. Amazing view from the balcony. Luis could not be any nicer, even before I met him! We were in Porto during the rail strike, but he helped us reach Porto from Lisbon efficiently and gave many great tips.

Unexpected
Having the unit in 3 rooms that are connected by a common hall was unexpected .
Simple accommodation with all the essentials and an epic view of the promenade, the river, the bridge and the major Port wine players across in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Mr. Luis is a hands on landlord. He picked us up at the train station and accompanied us to our apartment while informing us about all there is to know about the city of Porto and it’s surroundings.
Fantastic experience.
Thank you, Luis
The location and the balcony in the unit were awesome, but the apartment is on the 4th floor, hard to access, and the clogged or overfilled grease trap in the 1st floor restaurant gives a terrible odor, which cannot be escaped while at this location. The restaurant needs to have this trap pumped and/or cleaned. Despite the bad odor, I would stay at this location again.
Luis the host hospitality was outstanding! He met us at the train station and escorted us to his place! We we so appreciative of his attention to details and his ability to make us feel welcome. The location is right on the river and the place is clean and well run. The kitchen and bedroom have all the amenities and balcony both on the front as well as the back of the residence. It was private and obviously updated over the years. We highly recommend this place. Would come back again for sure!!
Our host, Luis, met us at the Campanha train station and helped us make the connection. He then walked us to the apartment telling us so much about his city along the way. The view is better than what the photos show. We spent a couple of evenings on the balcony which was so enjoyable. You will need to understand there are many stairs to climb to the apartment, but we were aware and did not find them at all difficult. The shower is quite small, and the hot water does not last long, but with care this is easily managed. We did not need to use the kitchen, but it appeared to have everything one could need. Porto is amazing. We hope to be back
Absolutely loved this place! It was truly amazing! I would absolutely go back! A couple of things that I wasn’t expecting was the kitchen and bath being separated from the room. It was the top floor so nobody ever went up but could feel less than private to some. I loved having the doors open for fresh air but at night could be a little loud. Bathroom is smaller than Americans are used to but I didn’t mind. Luis, the host, was great!! Overall I would definitely stay here again! The view was incredible!!! Best in the city after seeing it all!
The top floor flat is fairly described in the listing. View from bedroom is exceptional and bed is comfortable. Bathroom is tiny but functional. Stairs are to be considered. Luis is a wonderful host and came to meet us at Campanha train station and accompanied us back to Sao Bento and then to the flat, giving us useful information along the way. We enjoyed being located in the heart of the historic district and we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. We also took a bus tour to Braga and Guimares. Porto is a very interesting city but be aware that almost everywhere is either a steep walk up or down.
Good- Communication with owner, Luis was great.
He gave clear instructions on where to meet from the airport and took us to the apartment.
Water pressure in the shower was great.
Not so good- Apartment has an unusual layout with a common stairway that divides the kitchen from the bedroom/living room. The apartment in on the 4th floor with no lift. A lady and her child live on the 2nd floor and had no respect for others in the building. Lots of yelling and screaming at all hours.
The weather in Porto was poor with lots of rain and the apartment is not well heated. Fortunately there was a small heater that we could plug in to dry our clothes.
The towels provided were poor and need to be replaced with something decent.
The bathroom is tiny. Had to stand with one foot in the shower to go pee.
There is no night stand so no where to put anything like a book or light.
Overall - Location is great but needs some upgrades
My daughter and I loved our short stay in Porto! The building is right on the Duomo with a fantastic view!!
It’s an old building that’s actually an UNESCO world heritage site, so it’s not a 5 star, but everything works and I would stay again in a heartbeat. I think there are full time residents living below so if you stay, be respectful and party elsewhere. We wanted a quiet night on the (small) patio and this was the perfect setting.
It’s on the 3rd floor and the entire city is uphill so if you have mobility issues- stay inland a bit.
Luis met us at the train station and walked us there himself, which I thought was a special touch. He provided lots of helpful hints for our stay and our communication was great!
I would definitely stay here again!!
