Lake Como gem

This has been the best property we’ve ever stayed in. Our family of 6 (4 children ranging from 10-18 years old) could not fault anything. The house, the views, and the lovely walk along the greenway to Varenna made this a very special experience. Thank you Marco and Daniela.

Beautiful Views

Perfect house with access to Lake Como for swimming. Mesmerising views and can walk into Varenna. Retreating back to Fiumelatte was fabulous as Varenna was very busy. Road noise was a bit invasive but we where there in peak holiday time. We were well looked after by our host

Stunning views of Lago da Como

We had a wonderful 3 days in Marco and Daniella's apartment. The view across to Bellagio and Menaggio was stunning throughout the day. Made use of the private path to the beach for a daily swim and a lovely half hour walk into Varenna. The accommodation was great and as described and the hospitality topped things off. A great place to get through jet lag at the start of our Italian holiday.

Perfect Stay

We absolutely loved Lake Como and the apartment just outside Varenna was perfect! The view was stunning, the apartment was extremely comfortable and very clean and our hosts were delightful. We loved all the extra home-made treats and the champagne on arrival. We couldn't fault the place and we would love to return one day. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great spot to enjoy Lake Como.

The best location for a holiday on Lake Como

This was a perfect location for the week we spent on Lake Como in July-August. Marco and Daniela were excellent hosts and the property is immaculate. Rooms are large and airy, it is recently renovated and there are thoughtful touches like colour coding the various keys to the property. The views over the lake are beautiful and you never get tired of just sitting in the garden watching the changing surface of the lake and surrounding mountains. There is a private beach accessible from the property and we swam each day. Varenna is about a 5 minute drive away and having our 2 cars in the locked garage below our apartment was very welcome. If we come back to Lake Como this property will be our first choice for accommodation.

Perfectly beautiful outlook onto the lake

We felt at home as soon as we walked in. Very warm welcome. Town is about 2.5kms walk away - easy walk and beautiful so not hard!! Lots of places to eat great food and drink Spritzs. We’ll definitely be back, thank you

Top Notch!

This was the perfect property for my sisters and me to enjoy a week in the Lake Como area. It was roomy and well-appointed and very clean. The outdoor space and the view were magical. Though the owners were living upstairs, it felt like we had this house all to ourselves. When home we spent a lot of time in the sunroom that is all windows on two sides. Ate breakfast there each morning and played Scrabble. The kitchen has everything one would need and we made dinner on two nights rather than going out.We rented a car rather than taking the train to Varenna from Milan and were glad we did. It allowed us to go to the grocery store in Mondello and get food and wine for the week. It also was convenient for traveling to Varenna and other towns. Parking in some places is challenging, but we always seemed to luck out. The property has a garage for a car, so that was convenient. Small car is best.Note - the property is in the hamlet of Fiumelatte within Varenna. The center of Varenna (with ferries and restaurants) is about 3km down the road. We liked being a little outside the busy part of town. We walked the Greenway trail one day into town, but mostly drove the car. We don't know how easy or hard it is to get a taxi.Marco and Daniela were great and greeted us upon arrival with champagne. They provided maps and information that really helped get us started on our adventure.

Breathtaking Views

Marco and his wife are fabulous hosts! We were greeted warmly and with chilled presence and homemade bread. It is a short distance to Varenna and you can walk the greenway into town. The apartment was great with a fabulous sunroom and outdoor patio overlooking Lake Como. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay near Varenna

My family of four adults (two couples) found this apartment absolutely excellent. The apartment is as pictured and is very clean, modern, and creatively decorated. The view from the large enclosed area off the kitchen is exquisite. Waking to see snow on the mountain tops was a blessing. The patio was restful with lounge chairs and seating. There is a private beach which provided nice opportunity to appreciate Lake Como. The owners/management were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Having arrived on Easter Sunday, the owners offered us a delicious cake, prosecco, and other treats to get us started on our four-day stay. Fiumelatte and Varenna could work toward extending the walkways, as the walk from the apartment to Varenna is a pleasant mile-and-a-half walk, but very close to traffic at times. Great to have a taxi service available. Marco Barili and Rita were great taxi drivers. Many nice Varenna restaurants, but we especially liked Hosteria del Platano in Fiumelatte. Thanks to the hosts of this beautiful apartment.

First Time in Lake Como

Relaxing

The view from the terrace is amazing! A wonderful and relaxing place to spend time on Lake Como. The location is very convenient to the ferry in Varenna. You can’t walk easily to Varenna but the drive is quick and parking was easy in the garage. If you are looking for beauty and relaxation, this is the perfect place.

Beautiful Property

We stayed for 3 nights and wished it was a week. The apartment was as comfortable and the view as beautiful as advertised. We did not have a car But it was easy to get to and from the lovely town of Varenna by cab. Marco was a very gracious and helpful host I highly recommend this property.

Loved our stay

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our 4 night stay at Marco's villa. The views from the apartment and patio looking over Lake Como are breathtaking. Apartment was very clean and well supplied. Marco was an excellent host. Treats and bottle of Prosecco gift from owner was greatly appreciated. We cannot say enough great things about this property ! Como are breathtaking

For a change, the property was exactly as advertised. Plenty of room, clean , incredible views and charming hosts. Hoping to return with friends. Suggest renting a car as taxi service is a bit tough.

Absolutely phenomenal

We had the best of time. Stayed for a month. The owners Marco and Daniela could not have been nicer. The home is a dream. We took morning dips every morning in the lake and walked 2 miles into Varenna every morning for coffee (and back).

Fantastic Views and Outdoor Space

We loved our stay at this charming property! The views are stunning. The outdoor space is so welcoming and comfortable. The easy lake access is unique and was really fun for our kids. Our family loved swimming in the lake then coming back to warm up on the turf. Daniella and Marco are fantastic hosts who kindly welcomed us with champagne and snacks. We did have to take a taxi to town each time, but the hosts provided drivers we could contact via Whatsapp. The taxis were a bit of a pain, but totally worth it to stay at this property. We loved it!

Lake Como

A beautiful house with a beautiful view. The A/C works great as does the W/D. The kitchen could use a few more supplies as we cooked every night. The photos don't show it but the house is on a busy road. The owners live upstairs and there is a renter downstairs. The walk into Varenna is difficult as there are few sidewalks. I recommend renting E-bikes for the trip into Varenna. Overall a wonderful place to stay with a small family.

Stunning apartment with amazing lake views and beach access

A fabulous apartment to share with family and friends. Lovely garden and sun room with lots of seating options to enjoy the incredible views of the lake. Marco is an excellent host and was really accommodating. The little tunnel down to the beach was a great surprise and it was wonderful to have such easy access to lake swimming. A wonderful place to just relax or to explore Lake Como.

Special place on the lake

There were four of us traveling (adults 45+ yrs old). The pictures are beautiful but being there and seeing the view was even better than what we were expecting! Marco and Daniella were incredible hosts! They were there to great us and explain how everything worked and gave us the keys. They even gave us a nice basket of goodies and a bottle of Prosecco. We had everything we needed and more from dishes and towels to wine bottle openers and toaster, the washer and dryer really came through for us as we were on a 12 day trip and needed to refresh items of clothing. We asked Marco about a cooking class that might be nearby and he suggested a friend who was a world class chef that could come to the home and teach us in private. It wound up being the highlight of the trip! The chef was very professional! He brought us all souvenir aprons and a book of the recipes we were learning. He thought us how to make Tiramisou, Gnocci and Padta Bolognese from scratch including the sauces (Pesto, Meat sauce). It was so much fun! We can’t thank Marco and Daniella enough for opening their home to us and allowing us the trip we will always remember!

Gorgeous

We loved Marco’s apartment!! We were in awe of the beautiful views from every room. The indoor/outdoor seating areas were perfect. The location was great. Some nights we walked to dinner and others we took a taxi. We loved staying here and would highly recommend it to anyone considering it.

Amazing View

We absolutely loved this apartment! The outdoor space and view can’t be beat! The apartment is beautiful and very clean. It is located about a mile out of town and it is quiet and peaceful. Be sure to arrange your taxis the day before. Marco was very helpful when arranging our airport transfers and the welcome package was a nice touch. Thank you for a beautiful stay!
