this the perfect place for a girl's trip!!! The host went above and beyond to accommodate us!! This place was absolute perfection, and I could not recommend it more highly.
We loved out stay! The cabin was so lovely and nicely decorated. The grounds were absolutely beautiful! Susie was so helpful and responsive to questions. Walmart and Publix 10 minutes away. Would definitely stay again!
An immaculate old cabin in a peaceful sylvan setting. Beautiful grounds with lake views. Close to amenities and downtown Birmingham. Very accommodating and responsive owners. Perfect for traveling with dogs.
Our family (6 adults) rented the property for a weekend wedding event. It was a nice getaway in between events and provided much-needed downtime. Be sure to take your fishing poles and get ready to enjoy some peace and quiet.
This was an excellent weekend getaway with family to unwind and relax! The property looks even better in person than in pictures. The cabin was very clean and had plenty of room, and the outdoor space with the pond was the perfect spot for our kids to explore, play and fish. The owners were extremely accommodating, nice and responsive. We hope to visit thia property again next year!

Cozy. Relaxing. Amazing.
I stayed here for one night in April and I wish I could have stayed forever. It is so close to town, but you feel like you are away on a retreat. Fishing in the pond is so relaxing and sitting on the back deck rocking is great! The entire place just makes you want to live there. Would recommend for all ages - kids to adults!

Thank you again for choosing our place for your special time! Please come back soon!
We were looking for a unique property for our long weekend while we attended the Barber Vintage Festival. This property was so exceptional that we hated to be gone all day during our stay! Fortunately we enjoyed a couple hours of daylight to fish in the well stocked pond (catch and release) and let the kids visit the horses, chickens, longhorn steer and the occasional deer. This is a quiet, serene property that is perfect for a peaceful getaway. It’s a working property so plan to be respectful of your surroundings. We absolutely loved it! (Susie was extremely professional and accommodating)
We had the BEST time at this cabin!! Luke the caretaker for the property was amazing and helped our youngest boy find the best spot to fish and even got him two to reel in! The teens loved the fishing and exploring of the property - they enjoyed having their own room and bathroom. They have horses and cows roaming and cute chicken coop - we lit a fire in the cowboy cauldron with firewood provided. Very few electronics were used this weekend because a good time was had by all - the uniqueness of the cabin is unmatched. We will definitely be visiting again!

Wonderful cottage exceeded expectations
This historic log cabin is spacious, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The cabin is set within a stunningly beautiful rural landscape, but within easy driving distance to Birmingham. Longhorn steer, goats and horses stroll peacefully in the distance as you look out the windows at the picturesque views. The owner is friendly and helpful, and replies promptly to queries. The cabin is appropriate for short or longer stays and can comfortably accommodate a family; excellent for special occasions. You will be charmed and delighted by this unforgettable property! Highly recommended!

Amazing property, gracious host and a perfect stay
I cannot say enough good things about our stay in Wilsonville, Alabama! This cabin was absolutely perfect – a true hidden gem. The moment we pulled up, we were struck by the peaceful beauty of the property. The cabin itself, built in the 1800s, is full of historic charm and character but still has all the modern comforts you could need. You can really feel the love and care that’s gone into preserving its authenticity. One of the highlights for us was the setting – we woke up to the sight of cows and horses grazing nearby, which added such a special, serene touch to the whole experience. It felt like stepping back in time, in the best way possible. The atmosphere was calm, relaxing, and ideal for unwinding. If you're looking for a cozy, unique, and memorable getaway surrounded by nature and history, this is the place. We’re already talking about when we can come back!
We try to find quiet neighborhoods when renting properties and this cabin fit the bill. Other than some coyotes howling the first night, the property was very quiet! One downside for us is that our dog needed to stay inside the property fence due to the long horned cattle on the acreage. Also, the bath adjacent to the kitchen needs deep cleaning or replacement of the shower curtain liner. At least I can now check off staying in an 1800’s log cabin!

Thank you for your comments! We recently replaced the liners, but will order more :) Thankfully, the cabin has a really large yard for pets to roam where the cows cannot get in. Thank you so much for your stay!!
I found this property just looking for a place to stay for a wedding in Birmingham. It was more than advertised!!!! The atmosphere there was very laid back and relaxing. I looked forward to returning there each evening to relax and unwind after a busy day. The mornings were wonderful. A cup of coffee on the back porch was very nice (we had all our meals out there also). My 3yoa grandson had a wonderful time and went each morning to look for the Mooeys (cows), the horses, the pony and the chickens. He also had a great time exploring and fishing. No need for any kind of electronics to keep him happy and occupied. I think we watched about 2 hours of TV the whole week we were there. I can't reccommend this place enough. LOVED IT!!!

Perfect Month!
I stayed in this amazing cabin for a month. It was just perfect. I loved sitting on the screened-in porch in the mornings watching the birds go to work, and then in the afternoons watching the longhorn cattle come around. The pond is beautiful--my son swam in it, and he and my husband fished. Didn't catch anything, but maybe that's because some people brought their horses over for a swim, which was fun to watch! The setting was ideal, right in the middle of a horse farm, and the cabin itself was very comfortable and pleasing to the eye. I was thinking that maybe Susie was going to have to call the Sheriff to get rid of me, but then I sucked it up and left on my own! It was a golden time.

Can you come back next year??? Please??? We loved having you!
Gave cleanliness a 3 star because of the Oreo cookie on top of the picture frame in downstairs bedroom and cobwebs. Entire front wall “cried” from tv to front door when it rained, and stairs going up to 3 beds were also wet when raining - this just added to rusticness. Loved the house and atmosphere. It was dark even with the many lights and lamps on which was challenging for a vision impaired person in our group. Would recommend you mark the step-downs clearly both inside and on deck. We are not familiar with a built in air fryer instead of oven so that too was limiting. Yard was perfect for children and dogs. Enjoyed the daily visits of livestock and the large screened deck. House overall was fun to explore and discover its secrets. I would return, loved the “character” of it, but had some in our group who did not like it at all. Would warn any extra guests over eight is charged extra (despite listing for 10) and need to bring your own sleeping arrangements for them. As previously reviewed your constantly washing silverware to have enough for everyone. Impressed with quality of kitchen dishes.

Thank you for your feedback! It is indeed a more rustic cabin since it was originally built in 1812. I wish I had known that there were any cleaning concerns, as I would have sent my cleaner there right away! We do our best to keep cobwebs down and the home clean, so I would have made sure it was right for you! I checked in several times and was always told that everything was great, and that you guys were “in awe” of the property. I hate that you felt it needed only three stars. We always strive for five stars in all of our properties, but do understand that an older cabin with all of its history isn’t suited for everybody. Thank you for letting me know about silverware. Nobody else has mentioned this ( but we typically don’t have such large groups stay ) I will order more right away! I will also change the number of people allowed to the number that can sleep on beds to avoid any confusion in the future. Thank you again for your stay!
