Come and kick off your shoes & sink your toes in the sand or cast your line from the less-traveled, pristine beaches of Little Gasparilla Island at AfterDune Delight Cottage!

New air conditioner installed in Fall 2023 A true hidden treasure; Little Gasparilla Island is a bridge less, tropical barrier island just off the West Coast of Florida located midway between Tampa and Naples not far from the cities of Boca Grande and Englewood Florida. Unspoiled by seawalls and high rises, it has no roads and no car traffic, just white sand paths for exploring. Here you’ll find 7 miles of pristine white sandy beaches, fantastic fishing opportunities, an abundance of sea shells and prehistoric shark’s teeth to gather, dramatic sunsets and balmy tropical breezes.

You must take a water taxi to reach the cottage. There are no cars on the island but a car is recommended if you want to explore the mainland and visit local shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Your vehicle can be left at Eldred's Marina where the water taxi departs from daily for the island. Parking fee is $6 per day at Eldred's. Water taxi price is currently $20 for 2 persons each way and $10 for each additional person during daylight hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Water taxi is available outside of these hours with reservation but prices vary.

This rustic 2 bedroom has a cheerful vintage island style and has been nicely updated with granite counters in kitchen and bath and a new tiled shower. Cook your fresh catch of the day on the outdoor grill and dine with the double french doors to the deck open wide to catch the wonderful sea breezes inside, sip on your favorite beverage at the kitchen breakfast bar, read a book at the waters edge or hunt for fossils and shark's teeth, maybe soaking up some rays on the deck or viewing every sunset during your stay is in order? Whatever your choice, the cottage is the perfect place to spend your time.

This private and incredible beach location ensures you experience the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. At AfterDune Delight cottage you can relax and leave all your worries behind. Bring your groceries and drinks along and enjoy your meals looking out over the beautiful beach. Kayak and paddle-board rentals are available on the mainland.

Modern amenities are present including AC/heat satellite TV and WiFi should you choose to use them.

So cruise over to the cottage and enjoy one of the most beautiful islands on west coast of Florida!

Not for everybody

This was our first time to visit LGI. Our stay was for two weeks. We enjoyed the location and it's proximity to the beach and we found the locals and other visitors to be friendly and helpful. Parking at the marina is $8/day. You must arrange in advance for your transportation to the island and to the cottage from the dock which is on the bay side. There is no hot tub. Almost all of the activities listed are on the mainland, accessed by water taxi. The A/C window units are not sealed. The handle on the European style doors is not fastened and falls off when used to close the doors. The cabinets in the kitchen are low for persons 6 feet or taller (I am 6'5". Ouch). The stove is an electric cook top. The oven is a toaster oven on the counter top. The refrigerator does not have an ice maker. You take your garbage back with you to dispose of upon your return to the mainland. We cleaned the dog slobber off the windows and doors. Sand will inevitably get into the cottage. Being aware of these issues and planning for them may enhance your comfort and enjoyment of your stay.

Overdue vacation.

Folks were nice to work with. Few very minor issues but overall nice week. The owners could not help this but the island was still digging out from the hurricane. Lots of trash and old appliances all over the island. The next door neighbors were having roof and siding redone so their workers started a generator every morning about 6:30 am and blocked our entrance and exit to our beach house with their scaffolding. No sleeping in. Ha. Nice location right on the beach, great weather and allowed our dogs. Had everything we needed.

The Best

This was our second stay here and again, the house is perfect. It’s quaint, quiet, has everything you need, and couldn’t be in a better location. This is the perfect place for my husband and 2 dogs, and we plan to make it a yearly vacation.
