Casale Fontanino lies at the bottom of the hills that from the Medieval hamlet of Montecarlo go down towards the plain of Lucca. For lovers of history there are various options, the Renaissance city of Lucca with its walls, Altopascio along the ancient Via Francigena. However, a special visit to the town of Collodi and villa Garzoni with its park dedicated to the puppet Pinocchio is a must.
