Alentejo, where you can spend pleasant moments in communion with nature. Watch the stars, hike the farm, watch the fauna and flora that surrounds it, refresh yourself in the salt water pool, read a novel in the shade of the orange trees or simply listen to nature !! We have 8 double rooms with bathroom and possibility of extra beds. We have a room with snooker, table tennis and board games; living room; dining room and kitchen; supporting bathrooms; terrace overlooking the countryside! On the other side of the hill is the orchard and the salt water pool, where you also have a seating area! We have bicycles to walk around, paddle a 20 minute drive from the homestead, Alamal River Beach, a 15 minute drive, where you can dive or go by boat :) There are 4 walking paths in the vicinity, for nature lovers. We have museums and Belver Castle to visit within 15 minutes by car and many other sites within a radius of 60 km to visit and savor the gastronomy!

Wonderful family holiday

Just wonderful for a large family holiday. The property is large, enabling all of us to be together under one roof for family activities and at the same time the bed rooms are separate, and also large, thus enabling privacy.

Perfect family venue

Spacious and self contained property, with large shared spaces and air-conditioned & well-appointed bedrooms; off beaten track but not far from shops and places to visit; our mixed age group loved the pool, local walking, the converted games-barn and generous sitting & dining rooms - which stayed cool through the heat of the days. Rita, who looks after the house for the owners was always on hand for advice and any problem-solving (which was minimal). Decor and furnishing is imaginatively rustic and complements the historic buildings .... THANK YOU

Un trésor au milieu de la nature

La Herdade de Maxuqueira est un vrai trésor. Nous y avons séjourné avec des amis et de la famille. Tout était parfait. Les lieux sont extrêmement spacieux et bien entretenus. Les chambres sont belles et confortables, disposant chacune de leur salle de bains. La cuisine est très bien équipée et la piscine et les espaces de convivialité (salon, salle de jeu avec billard, piano…) permettent de se retrouver. La communication avec notre hôte Sofia a été très facile et agréable. Nous avons passé un moment de déconnexion et de détente totale, au milieu de la nature. Merci Sofia!

MUY RECOMENDABLE. Sofia y Jose María nos han ayudado en todo. Tambien su hija, que se ha prestado a entretener y acompañar a nuestros hijos por su magnifico campo. Grandes espacios interiores y exteriores. Todo muy comodo. Muchos entretenimientos para los niños de distintas edades. Hemos ido 3 familias con niños y el lugar ha sido un acierto. Sin duda pensamos en repetir. Zona muy tranquila. Apetece permanecer en la casa sin salir a conocer nada mas.

Le Portugal de nos vacances

Nous sommes allés a Gaviao au portugal dans cette magnifique villa Herdade de maxuqueira. Une famille de 17 personnes, adultes et enfants se sont regalés de l environnement, piscine, grande salle avec billard, ping pong, baby foot, chambres individuelles avec sdb et climatisation. Positifs: cadre très agréable, au calme, espace piscine au top, chambres individuelles avec sdb et clim, grande salle avec jeux. Mais il y a qq points Négatifs qui ne sont pas acceptables vu le prix de la location : pas de machine à laver, les draps et linge de lit n ont pas étaient changer à la fin de la 1ere semaine, piscine non nettoyée durant les 15 jours, manque éclairage terrasse piscine, cuisine petite et mal equipee (table vitrocéramique dépassée, pas de friteuse etc...). Si vous voulez vous reposer l endroit est ideal.... Tres bon séjour, qq petits details que le propriétaire doit impérativement regler pour les futurs vacanciers.

Boa escolha para uma escapadinha em família

A estadia na Herdade da Maxuqueira foi muito boa num contexto de programa familiar com crianças! Conseguimos aproveitar a Herdade e piscina ao máximo! Ha pequenas melhorias que podem ajudar em grandes grupos fáceis de implementar: mais apoio de serviço de limpeza e cozinha, tornar a área de piscina e os espaços comuns mais confortáveis e integrar dinâmicas como moto4, passeios de cavalo, etc. A zona envolvente tem alguma escolha de programas mas o que mais gostámos mesmo foi de aproveitar o local. Quartos muito simpáticos e agradáveis.

fantastic countryside property in Alentejo

property beautifully decorated and cared for; lots of space both inside as well as outside; comfortable and spacious rooms with lovely bathrooms and with privacy; kitchen well equipped; spacious games room; bicycles on demand; staff always present in case you need them but discrete (you can ask them to bring you fresh bred every morning); plenty of space for large groups; lovely swimming pool with salted water; small grocery in nearby village (5 minutes walking) and supermarket at about 10-12 km. Owners are extremely friendly and provide tips for things to see in the surroundings; marked walking tracks nearby. The region of Alentejo where the house is located is superb. Highly recommended!
