About this property
Traditional stone cottage in La Molineta with private gardens, dip pool & views
Organised all on one level La Cuadra has an open plan living space comprising of a fitted kitchen, with nespresso coffee maker and the lounge with a smart TV and Netflix for entertainment. The lounge includes the benefits of a traditional cast iron log burner open fireplace for heating in the winter months. From the lounge is a large double bedroom with 1 large fitted wardrobe and reversible Air Conditioning and heating. The bedroom then leads onto the very well proportioned separate bathroom. The bathroom again has lots of storage space, a full size bath tub with overhead shower, WC and a double aspect with two windows.
Throughout the property are beautiful high ceilings with beams, lots of windows creating a bright living space and a very attractive traditional Fajalauza floor tiles. All these elements add additional charm and character to the cottage.
The kitchen opens onto a large covered terrace, with a large private garden, and a brick built barbecue area. The upper terrace to the side of La Cuadra is a plunge pool surrounded by paved terrace with table chairs and sun loungers, which is perfectly placed to take advantage of the sunshine and privacy offered by the property, one of only four properties to the left side of this wonderfully private hamlet.
The gardens surrounding the property are beautiful and well established over many years, to include beautiful sea views with trees bearing almonds and fig. From the boundary of the property a pretty pathway sweeps throughout the garden under decorated archways and meandering steps until you reach the covered patio and the entrance to La Cuadra.

About the host
Hosted by Niall Garner

A busy company director who stumbled upon La Molineta in 2008 and was immediately captivated by the area. Having rented La Cuadra for 5 years as a vacation stay, I was delighted when it came up for sale, and could finally call it our holiday home.
With that decision was whether or not to rent it out, and I felt it deserved to be shared and for others to derive as much pleasure, inspiration and relaxation as I had whilst there.

Why they chose this property
It's the privacy and tranquility you simply can't get in Frigiliana or Nerja. The footprint of the house is one third of the garden space, and whilst the steps you climb passing the three properties to reach ours feels challenging at first, you soon appreciate that is where the steps stop and La Cuadra's private garden starts, and whist many have conveniently tiled and terraced their outdoor spaces, ours remains green, a rarity in the area. Simply put, uninterrupted, splendid isolation! (though clearly, I'm biased).
What makes this property unique
It's 300 years old, a rare example of authentic Andalusia, that made it from Donkey Stable to home. The provenance of Sir Peter Wakefield buying the entire ruined hamlet in the 1960's then spending the next 40 years creating a legacy carries with it a unique heritage and love for this hamlet that you can feel the moment you enter. The more you learn and experience, the more you love if you embrace it. I felt it when renting, and I feel it now more acutely as an owner, as I'm now entrusted to ensure our guests are afforded that same amazing experience.
