Good location, well equipped but......

The set up is great for families and close to nearby attractions. Short walk to an excellent pool. But there is no local property manager and the owner hasn't seen the place in 3 years. So, if there are maintenance issues he relies on a local contractor. It might be weeks (in our case) before items (such as ceiling fans and smoke alarms) are addressed. The neighbors are friendly and if you bring your dog he will love it, but be aware that dogs are not allowed on the beach, even leashed, unless you drive to Delmar.

We're sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay at our home. As I discussed with you on the phone, Covid-19 travel restrictions have prevented us from traveling to Carlsbad, something we hope to be able to do very soon. We do have excellent contractors who work with us to keep our house in top condition but unfortunately two of the issues you mention, the smoke detectors and the ceiling fan, took more time to get remedied than we would have liked. As I explained during our phone call, the fan was only discovered to need replacing upon inspection by our handyman during his repair visit, and was promptly ordered. Unfortunately we don't control the shipping times. The smoke detectors were working when you arrived and when you let us know they were not working were specially ordered so they could be hard-wired into the electrical system and updated to the latest building codes. Both of these items were resolved during your stay and we gave you a partial refund for the inconvenience. We always promptly reply to all of our guests' concerns and do our best to get them remedied as quickly as possible. Again, we apologize that this took longer than normal during your stay.

Comfortable & Convenient

We stayed for the month of December and enjoyed Sean's house, the dog-friendly trails, and pool/hot tub within the gated community. The house is conveniently located near the beach, several shops/restaurants, the highway, and the Coaster. We visited Chandler's and the Camp Store multiple times on foot with our small dog. The house was very comfortable, and it was handy being able to park in the garage. The WiFi was fast and reliable, allowing us to work remotely. We were only disappointed that the fireplace wasn't working while we were there over the Christmas holiday, which Sean tried to remedy for us. The kitchen is well-appointed and has updated appliances; we were grateful for the electric kettle. Sean was very responsive in all communications before/during our stay and worked to ensure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful experience!

My family and I stayed here and had such a great experience! Sean was the perfect host; always very helpful and attentive. The home was a great fit for our family (2 adults, 2 young kids and 2 cats). The neighborhood felt very safe and friendly. Great location, especially if you enjoy the beach! There is also a beautiful pool area in the neighborhood, that we visited almost everyday with our kids. This is a great spot and I would highly recommend it! Thanks for a wonderful stay, Sean!

Great place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a 6 week stay Sean, the property manager was easy to reach and responded quickly. We had fun exploring the area and it’s close to the beach and great shopping and restaurants. It even has a dog door. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a vacation in the Carlsbad area. Carole Quirk

Outstanding home and location

Very well maintained, fully equipped and comfortable. It has all the amenities we needed and is just minutes from the beach. We have used VRBO on several occasions and Sean is the best landlord by far. Very, very responsive and helpful.

Great Location

We rented this house for a month while our new home was being finished. We had 2 adults, 2 teenagers and two dogs and there was plenty of space for all of us. The owners made the process very simple and were very accommodating. The house is decorated nicely and completely up to date. The neighborhood is very friendly and felt very safe. We enjoyed all of the amenities as well such as the pool, tennis courts and volleyball court. The beach and shops are all within walking distance. We highly recommend this property.

2 Month Summer Stay

This home was a home away from home for us. We stayed here for 2 months starting in the middle of May with our two young boys. There was more than enough room for our family. I highly recommend this house and neighborhood for families with kids. We enjoyed having a pool a short walk from the house as well as a short walk to the beach. Sean was very easy to work with. The house was very neat and clean when we arrived. We hope to visit again soon!

Lovely Home with many amenities in a quiet neighborhood

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious, comfortable, well-appointed home. It was immaculate, had lots of space and had everything we needed for our extended stay. We enjoyed walking to the beach (about a seven-minute walk) and viewing the ocean every time we left the neighborhood by car. The owners were great to work with.

Great Rental, great owners!

We stayed at this rental for two months. The rental was very clean, organized and well stocked. The owners were very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any questions. We loved the location...close to the beach, easy acess to Encinitas and Carlsbad. The complex was gated and everyone was very friendly. We had young children and they enjoyed riding bikes. We used the pool often, it was wonderful. We will definitely be back if we need a Carlsbad rental again! Thanks so much Sean!

First class

The ideal rental is to have all the comforts of your own home and this owner delivers in every way.We are retired and travel regularly so have numerous experiences to compare and this one rates on the top of our list. It is exceptionally clean and has all the necessary home amenities. The location is great with a short walk to store conveniences and also about a 10 minute scenic walk to the beach. The location also has convenient access to all the tourist opportunities of the San Diego area. The owners are very accommodating from your initial inquiry and booking and during the duration of your stay. We would be very excited to return to this location.
