About this property
Close to trails, streams, river and downtown Decorah.
The cabin is located roughly 5 minutes from downtown Decorah. The private yard and minimally traveled road makes the cabin close enough to downtown to enjoy local shops, restaurants, trails and streams, yet just far enough away to have campfires, yard games and more. Twin Springs Supper Club is also located within walking distance to the home as well as the Trout Run Trail, Pulpit Rock Campground, Twin Springs Park and the Upper Iowa River.
**Now with an EV Charger on site. A 14-50 Nema outlet has recently been installed for guests. Just bring your own cord, and feel free to plug in and enjoy!
The home features a large covered porch with lots of seating, a grill and ceiling fan. It is a great gathering place in the mornings and late evenings for many guests. Lots of cards games and cups of coffee are typically held in this area!
The main level of the home has two private bedrooms, each with a queen bed, dresser and nightstands. There is a large open kitchen and living-room on the main floor with all the space to entertain while cooking and enjoying each other's company. The private sunroom is a quiet space to read or watch a movie. It features a pull-out couch for extra guests. The large bathroom contains a tub/shower and washer/dryer, plus an indoor sauna!
The upper level of the cabin is an open loft concept, housing two queen beds, two twin beds and two dressers.
The roundhouse or earth-home concept in carried throughout the home with its refurbished materials and natural woods and stones, its definitely something to see! The home naturally stays cool in the hot summer days and warm/cozy during the winter months. The gas fireplace is definitely a crowd favorite, warming the large living-room and kitchen area with ease.
Decorah and Northeast Iowa have much to offer. Some of the best trout fishing in the state of Iowa is just down the road. Turkey, deer, and the occasional pheasant are popular hunting attractions in the area. The Upper Iowa River is nearby and offers fishing for many species. During the summer months kayaking, canoeing, and tubing the Upper Iowa is incredible and we can nearly guarantee a bald eagle siting!!
Decorah attractions include the Porter House Museum, Luther College campus, Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, Steyer Opera House, Decorah's Fish Hatchery, Malanaphy Springs, and Decorah's Historic Architecture Tour. The newly completed 14 mile bike trail circumnavigates the entire community!
Check out the Fort Atkinson Preserve, Bily Clocks Museum, Seed Savers Exchange/Heritage Farm, the Winneshiek Wildberry Winery or the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Burr Oak, IA.
This cabin is non-smoking.

About the host
Hosted by Stephanie Fromm

Zach and Stephanie Fromm, both graduates of Decorah High School, loved growing up in this scenic part of Iowa. They've enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, fishing, biking, camping and hiking in the Decorah area – Their passion for the outdoors is pretty obvious when you set your eyes on this beautiful cabin, located just past Twin Springs Park.
After taking ownership of Twin Springs Lodge in late November, 2014, they were off and running with ideas on how they wanted to share their 'home away from home' and give families the opportunity to adventure, relax and enjoy Northeast Iowa's 'Driftless' Region.
