Little Gasparilla Beachfront Gem; Sleeps 4
Little Gasparilla Vacation Rentals
About Little Gasparilla Vacation Rentals
We have lived on the island for 30 years and we started renting our own home many years ago when we traveled. Then our neighbors asked us to handle rentals for them also -- and now we offer vacation rentals in a variety of price ranges and locations on the island...from dramatic beachfront homes to cozy interior homes with lots of privacy. Our homes are painstakingly cared for...we want you to feel like you are vacationing in a friend's home rather than a sterile "rental unit". So relax, kick off your flip flops, dig your toes in the sand and enjoy the island lifestyle!

Why Little Gasparilla Vacation Rentals chose Placida
Hibiscus House has a fabulous upstairs sundeck that has lots of privacy and some of the best views on the island. It not only has a screened porch but an open-air porch for outdoor sunning. Inside, the home is beautifully appointed and has one of the most well-equipped kitchens you will find in a rental home. Guests love how comfortable it is, how well-stocked the home is, and its proximity to the beach.

Nice property on ocean!
Very nice property on ocean!
We were looking for a hidden island that we could do in the US first before going for an overseas one later. There is nothing romantic or relaxing about being on most crowded American beaches. This is perfect for a quiet romantic getaway, or even if you are just looking for quality time with a family, or even solo. Quiet, safe, relaxing, nice beaches and water. The house itself seems way above average compared to others. This property has nice beds, great kitchen (we got groceries on our way and brought them and cooked everything so we wouldn’t have to leave and get the most of the place we paid for), good bathrooms, and the entire house had a beautiful view and was open with everything from living to dining/kitchen, lofts and bedrooms. Being in the house felt just like sitting on the beach with an entire wall of doors that open onto the screened in protected porch and beach. Lots of games, and cable TV as well, and you could get internet as well. Chairs and umbrella provided. Grill. AC and good water temps too. Washer dryer. Nice private additional sundeck on highest level. Pet friendly. You are going to see an occasional ant or something being on an island even in the most maintained homes, and I considered this very well maintained with no bug issues or fleas being pet friendly. Very clean. The company itself was so wonderful from checking in, to arrival, and being available, and “Brett’s taxi” golf cart and the water taxi ferry. All very easy and wonderful people! Will definitely come back to this house in particular. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
Hibiscus house was awesome, very clean, lovely decorated. The kitchen was perfect
We were very happy with this property, the view was gorgeous. We had a really bad situation the week we stayed at the Island, RED TIDE. The beach was fully infected by dead fish. It was very depressing, we saw a turtle laying eggs one night and next day was dead on the shore line. We saw hundreds af dead fish, we saw groupers, snuk and other type. The smell was so strong that we were not able to breath.
We were not able to get in the beach the whole week. I was dissapointed at the Property Management that rented the house to us, this situation was going on and even if we were communicating regarding water taxi schedule, and othe stuff they never ever mentioned what was going on in the island.
We are sorry that you were not able to experience the island at its best....but glad that you felt the house lived up to your expectations. Unfortunately, we have no control over weather conditions or red tide. We understand how disappointing it is to come to the island and not be able to fully enjoy it. For that reason, we actually sent emails to everyone scheduled to check in as soon as we determined that the red tide was going to be bad. We can't control it, but we did try to let everyone know what was going on. We offered to reschedule guests that had already arrived and we allowed guests that were already booked to cancel and obtain a refund. We even hired a crew to bury dead fish on the beach. I am not sure what more we could have done given the fact that it is something that we have no control over. We did our best to make sure that the house was clean and perfect for your arrival. But beach conditions and weather are just out of our control. Again, we are very sorry that you had a bad experience. Nobody likes red tide -- especially those of us who live on the island full time -- but the state and federal government are really to blame here, not us or the property owner.
Perfect beach house!
We loved the Hibiscus House!
This was a great place for our Fall Break. We loved the simplicity of the island, the weather was beautiful and the water the perfect temp. The home felt easy and comfortable, with everything you need for cooking and simply being. And, of course, beautiful sunsets at the end of every day. It was a scrapbook vacation. Thank you.
Exceeded our every expectation!
We had high expectations for an island getaway far from the maddening crowds of summer on the albeit beautiful but overrun beaches along Florida's Gulfcoast. LGI and Hibiscus House exceeded them all! We were concerned that the week before the 4th of July even LGI would be packed, but there seemed to be only a few other families on the island. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with most everything you may forget from condiments for meals to a great library with selections for every reader and a ton of board games and beach trappings for the family. Laurie did a great job of helping coordinate everything from boat and golf cart rental to the concierge to get our bags and groceries from the dock to the house. While the TV and internet access is a plus, we didn't use them or miss them the entire time we were there (not even the kids)! Nothing but lovely long walks, finding tons of sharks teeth and beautiful shells, swimming with manatees and dolphins (yes, literally swimming with them in the Gulf), encountering a sea turtle looking for the perfect spot to nest on the beach in Don Pedro State Park, napping, eating, swimming, gorgeous sunrises from the dock on Placida Harbor (literally with silhouettes of dolphins breaching the surface in the channel -- postcard perfect) and even more stunning sunsets from the porch and beach out across the Gulf (one evening after a 10- min. afternoon thunderstorm there was a double rainbow at the southern tip of the island while the sun sank into the Gulf -- truly fantastic). Really I don't think it couldn't have been a more perfect family vacation. We are definitely planning on going back. A week was not long enough, but it was truly the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation we have had as a family in a long, long time. Believe what the literature and the comments say, you don't need to bring a lot of stuff.. literally t-shirt and shorts (to lounge around the house and take walks), and your swimsuits, bug deterrent of some sort if you plan on spending anytime inland or on the dock side (less breeze=more mosquitoes -- not too bad on gulf side due to seabreeze), sunscreen and groceries. The beauty of this island, house and vacation is that less really is so much more. Not having any place to be or schedule to follow other than the sun, the moon and the nature around you allows you to disconnect from work and daily obligations in order to finally relax and reconnect with what is truly important. THANK YOU!
