About this property
Casa Do Caseiro-Near Santiago de Compostela
The symbol par excellence of the Galician secular society, of the "lords of the earth" and their noble status, until well into the nineteenth century, was the pazo, an austere and sober building attached to a tower.
Among the varied adjective dependencies of the pazo, which make up a typically Galician architectural ensemble, is Casa do Caseiro, a house destined to house the family that was in the care of the hacienda of the lord who, in general, did not usually live in the field.
The Casa do Caseiro de Beca villa is located within this exceptional environment, for which its primitive location was taken advantage of by a successful rehabilitation and adaptation of the spaces to current needs.
Its nearby environment (1.4 km) is marked by the remains of a Roman road, a medieval bridge, a Gothic crossing (the oldest in Galicia), the Castro Lupario and the Portuguese Way (next to Santiago (8 km).
