About this property

A river runs through it #1 - Waterfront Luxury Hot Tub, Fireplace & Firepit

Riversong is our newest and most luxurious cabin and is ADA accessible. It has a full kitchen including a dishwasher and ice maker, a separate bedroom with an extremely comfortable queen bed, a beautiful granite tile propane fireplace, and a cozy living room overlooking the river.

A queen Murphy bed with the same comfortable queen mattress as the bed in the bedroom is cleverly disguised as a bookcase. The beautiful window and door casings and trim were all handcrafted by the owner.

Outside, the covered deck overlooks a huge lawn sloping down to the river. Included on the deck are a gas BBQ and large Jacuzzi hot tub. There is a fire pit just for the use of this cabin just below the deck.

Wonderful cabin
Wonderful cabin. It's everything it said it is. Directions were helpful. Full kitchen was actually a full kitchen, there was coffee pot, of course, but also tea kettle, slow cooker and a blender. Plus all the pots & pans and things needed to make a real meal. Hot tub was fantastic. Lots of clean towels. Beautiful view. They filled up the bird feeder before we arrived so we had wildlife to watch. Everything was well labeled so it was easy to figure out what switch turned on which light. Everything was clean and warm and wonderful. They thought of everything and we had a wonderful time.

Serenity in a great location
This is our second time staying here and we cannot wait to return for a third…the location is a perfect spot from which to access so many beautiful and diverse parts of Olympic National Park, from the Hoh to Lake Crescent to the beaches. It’s an easy drive into Forks for groceries or supplies, but staying at the cabin itself is a tranquil treat. Our daughter loves reading down by the river, and we enjoy relaxing in the hot tub. It’s incredibly well appointed, has everything you could need, and has been immaculately clean both times. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here! Wish we could visit more often:)

Perfect in Every Way!
We loved this beautiful little cabin on the river! It's cozy, very clean, fully sticked kitchen and so many thoughtful little touches from the owners, such as soft clean throw blankets. I was worried that it wasn't secluded enough but that was not an issue for us at all; the back deck especially was very private. We also appreciated the owners quick and clear communications.

Beautiful, clean, a hot tub, and on the river - a must stay!
A wonderful getaway! A beautiful property on the river with a super easy check in process. The house has everything you need. Very thoughtful small details like makeup remover clothes and dog towels were appreciated. Having a covered deck with a hot tub and grill was amazing, especially staying in the extra rainy winter time. Great communication from the host was nice. We've already shared property information with friends. Thanks for a great stay!

About the host

We are Ted and Brenda Connely. Brenda grew up in Forks. Ted moved from Nebraska to Port Angeles is 1976. We were living in Port Angeles when we found this property. A friend mentioned it might be available. It had an old house sadly in need of love. A garage looking like it would go over in the next strong wind sat where Riversong sits today. We spent several years fixing up the old house, which is now our Cedarbreeze cabin. We burned down the old garage before it fell down and had a garden in its place one year. One spring morning the next year, Brenda told Ted she had arranged for a man to come with a tractor and rototill the garden space that day. When she got home a foundation had been dug instead. That tractor had a backhoe on it. Ted said I need a shop. Brenda said we don't even live here full time. He said, well, we might. And he was right. A couple of years later Brenda came home from work in Port Angeles packing Sam the cat and said to Ted, 'We live here now, we're always here anyway.' So the house in Port Angeles was sold and we all lived happily in the old house on the river, and Ted enjoyed his shop, but after several long wet winters we decided to buy a larger home closer to Forks. Still on the river but not as special. We couldn't bring ourselves to sell the Riverside place, so we started renting the old house and the guest room we had built above the garage as vacation rentals. We had so many bookings we decided to turn Ted's former shop into another cabin. And that is how Riversong came to be.

Why they chose this property

Even though the property was all grown up with weeds and brush and the old house was very run down, we knew at first sight this was our place. The sparkling river running along the edge of the yard, the golden light coming through the trees, just the peaceful feel of the place. Many guests have used the word 'magical' to describe their feeling about the place.

What makes this property unique

We originally bought this property for our own vacation home with no thought of its potential as a vacation rental property. But not only is it a beautiful, relaxing, welcoming spot to stay, it is very handily located within an hour's drive of nearly all the attractions of the northwest section of Olympic National Park. Many guest comment on what a great base camp it is for seeing the park. We have often heard how nice it is to come home to after a day of hiking and exploring to sit by the river, BBQ on the deck, soak in the hot tub, build a fire in the firepit, and sleep in the very comfortable beds.
