The Shooting Lodge offers the most wonderful, relaxed accommodation and in conjunction with dry fly fishing on the River Frome its position as a holiday location is unrivalled.
Sitting high on the Dorset downs, set in a small coppice containing wild fruits and flowers, commanding spectacular views south towards the coast - this was the setting used by Thomas Hardy in his 'The Three Strangers'.
One mile from the nearest main road makes it remote and rural, but only two hours from London makes it easily accessible.
Bed linen and hand towels are all provided (but please bring your own large beach towels), as well as tea-towels and essential cleaning materials. A small supply of logs are provided, and additional logs can be purchased on request.
The lodge can be let on either a weekly basis, or at certain times of the year from a part week basis (either Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday). Changeover for weekly lets are on a Friday unless otherwise stated.
