Why Luisa Manenti chose Perugia
Perugia is the city of the my husband's family, e where one of our sons lives currently. I loved immediately this apartment because of its spectacular views. We restored it with love and sacrifices. I live in the apartment nearby and I am renting this property to finance the studies of my daughter.

Wonderful views in stylish apartment
The apartment is a short walk from the old centre of the city. It is in a quiet residential area. The apartment was spotless, comfortable and well equipped with wonderful views. It is one of the most attractive apartments I have stayed in. It is on the top floor up numerous steps and there is no lift, but we are both 60+ and had no difficulty at all. The bathrooms are well equipped although one has an odd elevated shower - but I used this without difficulty. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and with double glazing there was no noise and we slept well every night. There is a bar below the apartment, but this is not noisy and did not disturb us - they also do nice food and drink. There are a couple of places to eat nearby and a supermarket at the end of the road(this is easy to miss so do ask for directions). This is the second time I have stayed in this apartment and when I return to Perugia I will stay there again!
Fabulous apartment. Lovely hosts. Excellent location with breathtaking views. Very sorry to be leaving.
Enchanted Spot in Perugia
The photos don’t do this place justice; it’s a spacious flat in a modernized, exquisite medieval building with amazing views (of old town or the green valley below) out every window.
Within the Centro Storico, walking distance to the historic sites, with cafes and restaurants around, but in a peaceful neighborhood, away from the tourist hordes.
The hosts, Lucia, Rubens and their son Fabrizio are extremely kind and helpful; they picked us up at the train station and insisted on driving us to the station when we left.
We plan to return!
A great place to stay in Perugia
The view only would be reason enough to stay here, but this apartment is perfectly located and has all one would need. Thank you, Luisa and Rubens!
The appartment is beautiful and the view is magnificent. The host is very nice and helpfull.
The appartment is perfectually situated naar the ancient center of Perugia. The loft is on the third level with views on the hills and churches. All facilities are present and Ruben and Luisa are very helpfull.
Perfect Perugia stay
My husband, daughter and I were traveling through Italy in early July and wanted to get away from the bigger tourist destinations. Luckily, we decided on Perugia, and luckier still, we found this lovely apartment for our three-night stay. It was very spacious, with two bedrooms separated from the living space. It was clean and bright. Two bathrooms with decent water pressure. A well-appointed kitchen that had everything (including fruit, tea, and biscuits). A good cafe and restaurant right below the apartment, and a rich cultural history at our doorstep. But the highlight was the large living room and the incredible view of rolling Umbrian hills, with the historic town of Assisi in the distance. We got to see a sunrise, a storm and perfectly lit evenings from its many windows and balcony. Actually, the other highlight was our smart, kind and generous hosts who went above and beyond our expectations to make us comfortable. I only wish all apartment rentals were so perfect!
The house is located in the historic center of Perugia, near the door of St. Peter, in that "neighborhood Borgo Bello", adjacent to the Borgo XX Giugno, both fashionable and rich services, shops, boutiques, restaurants, pizzerias. In the immediate vicinity are the Abbey of St. Peter, with the medieval botanical garden, the Basilica of San Domenico, with one of the largest Gothic windows in Italy, and the National Archaeological Museum of Umbria, rich in Etruscan remains. A little further away and always within walking distance, well worth a visit: a) the surprising Rocca Paolina, a sixteenth-century fortress that has incorporated and then preserved a portion remained intact of the original medieval city, unique in Italy; b) the Fontana Maggiore (1275), a masterpiece of Nicola and Giovanni Pisano; The Palazzo dei Priori, built in stages between 1293 and 1443, home of the National Gallery; very well preserved from the third century BC Etruscan Arch A., one of the two most important in Italy; the mysterious and hidden Temple of Sant'Angelo.
Sports: The tennis club is one step away from home, is also nearby the beautiful and renovated pool Pellini and a few kilometers away is the golf club. Out of town, you can venture on a mountain bike, or deal with interesting excursions in the Apennines chain, relying on the local headquarters of the Italian Alpine Club. From Mount Subasio (Assisi) take flight enthusiasts of paragliding and hang gliding.
A stroll on and around Perugia: Perugia is at the center of the most beautiful part of Italy, rich in sweet and beautiful landscapes, ideal location for short trips to Lake Trasimeno, with a variety of sports activities, and unforgettable and precious towns like Assisi, Todi, Gubbio, Spello, Trevi. Just more distant, but enjoyable day, Spoleto (with dizzying walk on the Ponte delle Torri), Orvieto (with the superb facade of the Duomo), Norcia (with the wonderful Plain of Castelluccio) and Cascia. Each visit will remain in the memory for the peculiar medieval town planning, and for the colors of the houses, alleys, hidden streets. Get lost with your car or motorcycle in the country lanes, it means enjoying the best views of our country. And what about the microscopic jewel of the Concordia Theatre, 99 seats awaits you in Monte Castello di Vibio? Further afield but worth a trip are the waterfalls of Marmore, near Terni.
As for religious tourism, Umbria is unrivaled in Italy: St. Francis, St. Clare, Santa Rita and San Benedetto will take you on a mystical experience and intimate.
If you love good food, from April to October festivals abound in every little village in Umbria, where you can enjoy the dishes prepared by chefs and cooks who respect the tradition of using local raw materials. If you love wine, you will find the original Wine Museum in Torgiano, but also the tastings at the companies that produce the Sagrantino di Montefalco and Torgiano Rosso Riserva, the most famous and recognized regional productions.
Enjoy an instructive and relaxing holiday, including simple and quiet people, in a region on a human scale.
