Thanks Stephanie for returning to our home! We’d love to have you back again!
This was a last minute change of plans for my family and friends to check out fall foliage in Virginia instead of NC. Everything was perfect and we wished we could stay longer. The house is spacious and with great view of the mountains. We really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you Stephanie! We are looking forward to hosting you again in a couple weeks!
We enjoyed our stay at Chestnut Springs. Our boys (10 & 8) had their first ski experience and dining out at the Wintergreen Resort and over at the Devils Backbone Basecamp were perfect for our family.
We'd definitely stay there again. But if we did do it again, we'd bring more supplies as the options are remote. Everything worked out as the convenience store was open when we needed it, but isnt always open, so we wouldve packed some more supplies to bring along with us.
Great communication with Jack and Isma that made logistics smooth. Thanks for letting us stay in your home.
The home was perfect. It has a set up with three Master suites, where each bedroom can have its own dedicated bathroom (perfect for multiple adults in a group). There are two living room spaces, one upstairs and one downstairs, so ample space for spreading out. The location is serene. Beautiful second story porch to relax with a morning cup of coffee and gaze into the woods and across the mountains. Nearby amenities including restaurants, market with groceries and household goods, and a gas station. The owner was easy to reach and very responsive, helping us to check in a bit early and receive a delivery while there. It was a perfect stay.
The hottube didnt work. Also mattressee in all the bed are not comfortable to sleep in. All three bedroom has fullsize bed and mattresses and not a queen/king size bed. If someone would have to stay longer than 2 nights then they may develop back issues as mattresses arent suitable for sleeping.
Otherwise house was fully equipped with all things you need

Hi Nikhil, we tested the hot tub and it worked fine. We will put instructions for guests for how to get the jets to work. The beds are all Queen size, and we have never had any guest complain about the mattresses. 2 of the beds have foam toppers. In fact, a couple of guests have stated how comfortable the beds are. Thanks for your feedback.

Sunny, Cozy and Perfect
This was a perfect house for three couples, two with young kids. We each had a bedroom with attached bath, and the two kids could sleep in the quiet bedrooms downstairs while the adults stayed up and talked on the main floor. The kitchen was well stocked with good quality pans, basic spices, and even tupperware for leftovers! Cooking for the whole group was easy, and because the kitchen was so open, the cook was never cut out of the conversation. The open plan was great for feeling like one big group even while we split into smaller groups to play games or sit by the fire... oh, and having the wood and firestarters included in the rental was great. We had a fire going within 20 minutes of arrival! I especially appreciated that there was a whole-house humidifier.
Being able to walk to the hiking trails made it easy to get out the door without having to worry about car seats and who would drive. We didn't ski, but had fun watching the skiers from a grassy side slope.
There were two very minor things... the sponges for the sink were not new when we arrived, and we never figured out where extra toilet paper and paper towels were kept in the house. Honestly, other than those two minor details, this cabin was perfect!

We're glad the layout of the house worked well for your group. This is one of the features that appealed to us when we bought the house. Our property management company should have left ample supplies, and we have reminded them to double check the size of the group when setting up the house. We have amended our check in document to include our personal contact information so we can correct things like this immediately for our guests. We're grateful to you for bringing this to our attention.
Great place in the fall in Va Close to UVA but surrounded by numerous other things to do Resort has numerous amenities and the area is chalk full of wineries cideries & breweries House is Hugh and in great shape
We loved staying in this beautiful mountain home and it was the perfect spot for us nestled in the mountains of The Wintergreen Resort surrounded by trees.
The kitchen was stocked and had everything needed to cook gourmet meals. It was very clean and felt like a home away from home!
Lovely mountain home in a very special setting .
Watching the sunrise from the large deck and listening to all the birdsong was magical.
Enjoyed the many walks/hikes and breathtakingly beautiful vistas.
The perfect place to make memories during our small family reunion.
This house exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, had everything we could have possibly needed, including a drawer of storage baggies. Switches were well marked. We had a lovely fire on a stormy Saturday night. Saw three dear right outside the back door but sadly no bears. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our dear friends. Thanks so much.
We had a great time at this cabin. Everything was clean and there was alot of thoughtfulness in the items supplied for use in kitchen, living space, and bedrooms. Loved the cozy couch and fireplace. Great views. This was our first time in mountains or a cabin and it was a wonderful experience. Thanks guys
Our vacation here was amazing. We stayed for two weeks with our children and grandchildren and we were all over the top happy with the place. We rarely left the resort because everything we needed was right there. The house is well furnished and stocked. The hiking trails are right outside your door. We will definitely stay here again.
My family and I enjoyed a lovely stay on this mountain home! House had everything we needed, was warm and cozy and easy access to great hikes which we enjoyed even in the rain!
The house is in a great location and each bedroom has a bathroom which was a plus for us. The kitchen is also well stocked with appliances, dishes and anything you need!
Jack and Isma were the perfect virtual hosts. Communication was frequent and timely. Everything was as described, and more. The kitchen had everything; we were a bit embarrassed at some of the things we brought with us that we’d not had at a rental before. And the second floor deck was used all the time except for sleeping. An enjoyable mountain respite from the summer heat of home.

About the host
Hosted by Jack Granger
Married (34 years) couple with a daughter. We met in New England at school (Boston University) and his Navy career brought us to Virginia where we've been ever since.
Why they chose this property
We are an active family who enjoys water and winter sports--Wintergreen reminds us of the mountains of New England. We've always wanted a post and beam home and had planned to build one, but instantly fell in love with this house when we saw it--and we hope you will too!
What makes this property unique
You will be dazzled with the upstairs living area of our home. There are an abundance of windows that offer gorgeous views of the mountains and spectacular sunrises. You can venture out to our balcony which is available along the front of the house to gaze at the wonderful views.
