Beautiful and Cozy!

Our family of four loved this cottage outside of Bayeaux. The owners were helpful and friendly, the location was great if you have a car, and everything was so peaceful. Would definitely stay there again!

Cute and clean little house, very comfortable.

We are quite picky with cleanliness and having all that is needed as if we were home. Nothing was missing. Great location a few minutes from Bayeux and close to the D-day beaches. We had a wonderful time.

Quiet, charming, peaceful

So much space and peace after a busy interlude in London. Very conveniently located to Bayeaux and easy to get to all places in Normandy. Marc and Carol were very responsive and kind. All things you might need are also available.

A few helpful tips

It is very well maintained, clean and wonderfully situated. The owners are charming and helpful. The property is not really suitable for 4. There are no instructions for the TV, oven or any appliances, which is unusual.

Ideally situated, a Gem to stay and make memories!

Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Carole and Mark, who took their time to show us around giving information and explanations on the lovely home and surroundings. Their friendly hospitality went beyond the expected with regional products to taste : homemade jelly, cider and butter cookies! A calm and peaceful spot with comfortable beds, closets, easy walk in shower, and an open kitchen living room area with beautiful stone walls. Gotta love that! We were 10mn to Bayeux and the grocery stores, 30mn to Omaha or Caen, 50mn to Utah Beach, an 90mn to Mont St Michel, very convenient. And to top it all, Caroles' masseuse wellness salon right there to sooth your legs after a long day of visits. We certainly will return.

Wonderful, peaceful cottage

It was wonderful for us to have a quiet, restful place between a busy tour of England and a busy tour of Europe, and to be near the D-Day beaches to learn about the sad and happy history of what occurred there. Our hosts were wonderful and friendly and very responsive when we called with questions. It was lovely to be out in the country, and yet so close to Bayeux, with its delicious galettes and crepes and the Tapestry, Cathedral, and more. The queen (?) bed and pillows in the first floor bedroom were ESPECIALLY COMFORTABLE, so we slept great. We spent 4 nights , so we had 3 days. We spent the first at Arromanches, the second in Bayeux, and the third out at Omaha Beach, Point du Hoc, and the American and German cemeteries, That was a good way to break up the trip. It was great to be able to come “home” to a kitchen where we could cook dinner and wash our clothes! Many thanks to Sarah and Marc!

Wunderbarer Ort in der Normandie

Wir haben 12 sehr angenehme Tage in diesem geschmackvollen Ferienhaus verbracht. Die Lage zwischen Bayeux mit vielen kulturellen Sehenswürdigkeiten und den Landungsstränden im Norden war ideal. Auch weitere Ausflüge in die Umgebung, wie z.B zu regionalen Erzeugern lassen sich von hier aus ohne Mühe machen. Es hat uns hier an nichts gefehlt und Marc und Carole waren aufmerksame und freundliche Gastgeber, die auch bei Fragen gerne weiterhalfen. Wir können diese Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Tolle Lage um Bayeux und die Landungsstrände zu sehen

Es hat uns sehr gefallen und wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Eigentlich gibt es nicht viel was man kritisieren kann. Saunerkeit war auch gut. Das einzige ist, man könnte auch mal die Spinnweben entfernen (u.a. unter dem Esstisch, bei der Treppe etc.). Aber das ist wirklich meckern auf hohem Niveau. Wir haben vor der Buchung gemerkt dass die Vermieter dort wohnen. Aber man könnte für die Genauigkeit des Inserats dies auch reinschreiben. Ich kann das Ferienhaus auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm, Haus sauber und einladend!!Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit!!Super Lage zu den Landungsstränden und Umgebung!!!Einzigstes wäre,eine Überdachung der Terrasse anzudenken,denn es regnet immer mal in der Normandie.Sonst alles Super!!!

Kleine Oase in der Normandie

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, gemütliche Unterkunft, sehr gut ausgestattet Ferienwohnung, auch an Kleinigkeiten wurde gedacht, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wirklich ruhig Lage, aber trotzdem zentral. Mit dem Fahrrad nur 10-15 Minuten bis zur Altsadt/Zentrum von Bayeux. Sehr gastfreundliche Vermieter, die jederzeit erreichbar waren. Wir haben uns super wohlgefühlt, die Wohnung und vor allem die schöne Terrasse genossen.

Sehr hilfsbereite, unkomplizierte und freundliche Vermieter. Ruhige Lage, nur ca 3 km nach Bayeux. Für 2 Personen perfekt. Das Geschirr und Besteck in der Küche war etwas veraltet und könnte z.T. mal wieder erneuert werden. Preisleistungsverhältnis etwas erhöht.

wij hebben dit huis geboekt om in alle rust de D-day stranden te kunnen bezoeken het huis ligt heel rustig op 5km van Bayeux het huis is keurig verzocht en van alle gemakken voorzien eigenaar is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam de badkamer bevind zich in de Hoofdslaapkamer dus misschien iets minder geschikt voor twee stellen ideale locatie om het gebeid per fiets te verkennen fietsen gehuurd via Loc Velo

Mooie woning, fijne eigenaren. Hartelijk en warm welkom gehad.

Ons verblijf was goed maar we hadden hier speciaal geboekt omdat er op de site twee badkamers vermeld stonden en die waren er niet. We waren met twee stellen en er was een douchecabine met wastafel in één slaapkamer. De eigenaar was zich hier absoluut niet van bewust. Het huis ligt heel centraal.

A lovely gite!

A seamless process from booking to arrival with great communications from the host. The gite and surroundings were wonderful and our dog really enjoyed the very large garden for playing ball. The gite both internally and externally had everything you could want for a relaxing holiday. It is well situated for all the Normandy D-day sites and Bayeux itself for shopping and eating out. All in all a great stay and we will hope to return.

centraal gelegen

De mooie woning is perfect gelegen om alles te bezoeken in Normandie is vlakbij de stranden , is ook gelegen in een rustige omgeving . Er was veel aanwezig in de woning nochtans als ik een tip mag geven aan de verhuurders misten wij wel een handdoekrekje ( wisten niet naartoe met onze handdoeken ) bij de douche en ook een gewone koffiemachine . Dit is het enige was wij wat misten in de woning verder was alles er dat je nodig hebt. Voor de mensen die de woning huren moet je oppassen als je boekt , je betaalt als optie 60 € voor schoonmaakkosten maar dat is eigenlijk voor het gebruik van het linnen , als je wil dat je zelf het huis niet moet schoonmaken moet je ter plaatse aan de eigenaars nog eens extra 80 € betalen en dat vind ik eigenlijk wat bedrog . Dus zouden ze best de website aanpassen om misverstanden te voorkomen .

Lovely

Marc and Carole were excellent hosts. It was a very nice property. Probably bigger than we expected from the photos. The location on the edge of Bayeux was excellent. In the quiet countryside but very near all the facilities. We spent a lot of time visiting the DDay sites but we’re able to come back to the Gite and enjoy the quiet with a glass or two!!
