Le Grenier at Pyron – Peaceful Gîte with Pool & Air-Con in the Landes
Escape to Le Grenier at Pyron, a bright and contemporary gîte set within a spacious, tranquil countryside property in the heart of the Landes. Surrounded by gardens, woodland and open skies, it’s an ideal retreat for couples or small families looking to slow down, relax and recharge.

Thoughtfully renovated and stylishly furnished, Le Grenier combines modern comfort with the calm of rural France — mornings by the pool, long lunches outdoors, and relaxing peaceful evenings under the stars.

The Accommodation
Le Grenier sleeps up to 4 guests and adjoins the far end of Maison Pyron, a former maison de maître and old farmhouse, now the owners’ home. The gîte has its own private entrance and garden and overlooks the pool, woods and grounds to the rear, offering independence and privacy.

Really Nice Gite with Excellent Hosts

We throughly enjoyed staying here. Derek and Bea were exceptional in their attention to their guests - nothing was too much trouble. A week is enough in our view as there is not a huge amount happening locally although trips to Bayonne, Biarritz and the Pyrenees are a good option. St Sever is a nice little town close by. Overall a very nice stay.

A clean and well kept property. The gite is fitted out with everything you'd need. We had an amazing two weeks. The pool and games area were popular with the whole family. In the hotter weather, the air con was a very welcome addition. The hosts are always on hand for a chat, help or advice, but never intrusive.

Maison charmante dans une spacieuse propriété pleine d'activités

On a passé une très agréable semaine, à profiter des nombreuses possibilités de se détendre et de s'amuser en plein air, de jouer au ping-pong, au Babington, dans la spacieuse piscine, aux fléchettes, au babyfoot... situé dans un très grand terrain qui a été aménagée avec gout (très joli jardin entretenu). C'est agréable de ne pas sentir qu'il y a des voisins juste derrière le talus et de profiter du calme (à l'écart de la route). La maison est cosy et décorée avec gout, on s'y sent bien. Les propriétaires sont vraiment charmants et sympathiques, nous avons eu le plaisir de faire leur connaissance et de partager de très bons moments avec eux, ce qui nous donne également envie de revenir pour les revoir.

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine reposante en famille. Une semaine magnifique a Sainte Colombe

Une semaine de vacances magnifique passée au grenier de la maison Pyron. Béa et Derek sont des hôtes charmants, tres discrets mais toujours disponibles au besoin. Le grenier correspond parfaitement aux photos, climatisé et au calme. Le jardin et la piscine chauffée sont très appréciables à toute heure de la journée. Situé au cœur des Landes, nous avons passé une semaine de vacances au calme, tout en profitant des spécialités gastronomiques proposées par de nombreux producteurs à proximité et des fêtes estivales organisées dans les villages aux alentours. Merci à Béa et Derek, nous gardons un excellent souvenir de nos vacances à la maison Pyron.

Since moving to Sainte-Colombe in 2012, Bea and Derek have been busy renovating the house, the Grenier gîte and Four bakehouse, various parts of the grounds and gardens and installing the solar-heated pool which everyone enjoys. They have done some clearing of Pyron woods, having identified an ancient path running through the woodland as well as created a small potager and orchard of fruit trees.

Why they chose this property

We love the peace and quiet of the countryside, local walks, the rolling hills of the Chalosse, the Pyrenees, Atlantic Coast and Spain (San Sebastian is only 2 hours by car) plus the local French food and wine. We have been warmly welcomed into the local community and hear about some great places to explore from our neighbours and friends, many of which we can share with you.

What makes this property unique

Le Grenier at Pyron is a characterful property retaining its original wooden beams and benefiting from complete renovation.
The property has a well-equipped kitchen, leading onto the terrace for alfresco dining.
A solar-heated in-ground pool is located next to a large barn for table tennis, table football and darts surrounded by spacious grounds with mature trees.
Many people love the peace and quiet of the area and the property; it is a perfect place to recharge your batteries and unwind. It also provides the opportunity to explore further afield into Spain, the Pyrenees and the Atlantic Coast.
Speaking both French and English we can help out with translating, booking trips, suggesting places to visit, etc...
