About this property

The Agriturismo Montegonfoli is located on the crest of one of the hills of San Gimignano which dominates most of the surrounding area, giving us a breathtaking 360 degree view. The ancient farmhouse, built between 600 and 700, has been renovated with passion and dedication and divided into 6 comfortable apartments, probably the largest in the area, with dimensions between about 60 and 95 square meters.
The property includes a series of farmhouses, forming a small village, and a plot of land of 23 hectares, divided between vineyards that produce prestigious grapes such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Classico, olive groves (we have about 900 olive trees), fields arable land (Grano, Girasoli, Colza, etc.) and a fantastic forest in which a stream flows, a place where adults and children love to make short trips. Our facility is located very close to the center of San Gimignano, a couple of kilometers as the crow flies, 3-4km by road, and therefore enjoys the advantages of the countryside and proximity to the town. Our neighbors manage a riding school with numerous horses, and organize hourly excursions in our countryside and in our woods. At 50 meters from us, the neighbors run a special restaurant, extremely "SOCIAL", famous for good food and tables all together to allow all the diners to make friends with each other.

thank you for reading my profile and considering to spend some of your time with me or my team in Montegonfoli :-) I'm a very social person, probably because I was born in the south of ltaly. I love to meet new people and new cultures and being an host allows me to discover several things and places while being in Italy. My daily job is into high tech, I'm one of the fathers of the world's most important video editing software ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) and I'm editor for the leading italian high tech magazine ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) At the same time I love old Italian lifestile, nature, countryside and San Gimignano, as well as sea and the other places where I grew up (Naples, Montegonfoli and Amalfi Coast). I love the good and healty food, as well as cooking it; I make my own bread, pizza and cookies using my self made natural yeast. I make olives (under salt or brine), dried figs, capers under salt, egg plants under oil and special liquors (just the ones that you can't find in a shop, but sorry, they are not for sale), in few words all the things that my grand mothers made in the past. If you're lucky, you could taste my famous "Pizza alle cipolle caramellate", "charamelized onions" :-)
My current fitness program consists in growing up 2 nice babies and 20Km per day by bicicle. I have several hobbies, probably too many, including "urban agricolture" of my time to make vegetables for me and my babies without using any chemicals.
I love photography and I made almost all the pictures of all the listings using a very old bridge camera; poor low light performances but great tele and macro, and all files are SOOC, straight out of camera, #nofilter. My idea is that reality must be better than pictures.
My life motto is "BENISSIMO" and I love the people who smile :-), and I'm very happy to give and return as much smiles as possible :-)

Why they chose this property

Owners decided to share their farmhouse to allow it to survive. In Italy there are many taxes and renting apartments to nice persons is another fine way to travel. Every day we meet people coming from any place of the world, and we always learn something!

What makes this property unique

Our farmhouse is very nice inside, but what makes the difference is what is outside, due to our wonderful location. Many apartments have wonderful views from inside, but all share our wonderful garden and many places to see sunrise or sunset, while drinking a glass of good wine or with people you love.
