The town is self contained and well serviced with plenty of shops and two supermarkets, intermarche and lidl, with regular markets and always something going on during summer festival season.
The confolens international music festival attracts thousands of people during a week in early August (9-15th August 2017) a happy carnival atmosphere where music fills the streets. We recommend early booking for this as central accommodation is highly sought after during this period.

Very good

Very good location, just across the river from the centre of Confolens. Check in process unsatisfactory, guests were left standing on the doorstep for ages waiting for someone to let them in. Steep winding stairs up to the second floor bedrooms not advertised and were unsuitable for the elderly, especially with luggage. Actual property quaint, good location, but could have been cleaner, there were lots of visible cobwebs!

Hi thanks for your thoughts, i communicated instantly with the party on arrival and within 10 minutes of this call stating arrival the party was greeted and given keys and shown into the property, everyone was happy. We do always pre advise to let us know when 30 minutes away, as this is not an hotel someone does have to meet at the property. I will ask dani to locate the miscreant who made a web. The house is well advertised showing layout including an older historical stairway clear on the photos, as a group it may have been appropriate to book a different property for oaps i was not informed of these age related requirements and although i cant change the advertised property as a grouo it may have been sensible to let the older companions have the luxuriuos large double room on the first floor. Thanks for your comments it goes agsinst our normal high ratings.

Nettes altes Stadthaus

Top accommodation!
We spent one week at this property, it was fantastic! This house is an absolute gem in a scenic rural location, a little beautiful town. We were welcomed with a glass of wine (or a cold beer) and a full tour of the property. We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness, quality and comfort of this house. It's a really lovely house, fully equiped, well decorated and super cosy! The house has so much character and has retained lots of its original features. Thank you for top quality accomodation! We left this property feeling very relaxed. We would definitely recommend this house and would return again without hesitation. Thanks again!

Why they chose this property
I fell in love with this town, and the history that envelopes it, within this beautiful romantic town on the banks of the Vienne. The house is set in the very old quarter of the medieval town of Confolens, with neighbouring streets of timber framed houses, it is like walking through time, romantic and peaceful, just a couple of minutes stroll with your baguette and wine and you are at the very beautiful riverside park/beach and picnic area, the majestic architecture of the two bridges spanning the river to one side and the large weir to the other. The house is down a quiet side lane within view of the tree lined river, very peaceful but so central too.
