Description:
Approx. 90 m2 interior surface, 3 BR, 110m2 built on 560m2 plot with lots of privacy in a dead end street. A large 13m long pool with steps and a 1m shallow area and terrace. Walking distance to the beach, about 1,3 km. And just a few minutes walk to get fresh croissants and all amenities. But still being away from the crowd.

FAMILIES w/ small KIDS: pool can be fenced upon order & small surcharge.

2 bathrooms, 1 w/ bathtub & shower, 1 w/ shower. Also pool shower. Extra outside room for washing, 2nd fridge, utilities, toys.

We bought this charming house for a home away from home and invested in it e.g. with brand new mattresses, sofa, chairs, decoration (2016 & constantly), etc. and like to share it with people who take care whilst enjoying a great holiday. Couples, families, friends welcome ... no heavy party or heavy drinking vacation though. All amenities like supermarket, restaurants, pharmacy, very nice beach are close to reach on foot but far enough to avoid the noise and being in ones private spot on Menorca. It's feeling almost like in a "casa de campo" country house as it is bordering the nice countryside with views to the horizon and the sea even.
Cala en Porter beach is very nice, shallow, cristal clear waters, 20 min away on foot or 4 min by car, has a lifeguard, great snorkeling, kayak, etc. A 3km long beach is just 20min away by car. Cova D'En Xoroi beautiful club and chill-out terraces w/ bar is also in walking distance.
Other unconstructed beaches also not far like Cala Mitjana, Cala Macarella, Cala Mesquida, etc.. The villa has been rented for years by the previous owner to always happy holidaymakers. A repeating visitor from before our times wrote to us:
“Last time we really enjoyed the villa, this time was to be honest even better, it seemed a lot more loved, the furniture and new fire really set it off, my wife struggles to sleep on any bed except our own when away, but this time she slept like a log and found the new bed very comfortable. ... the house has improved a lot and feels much more loved."

We had a great time at this property. The pool is a really good size for a proper swim ! It’s very cosy home from home feel. Somewhere to sit and enjoy the weather in all areas around the villa . The kitchen is so well stocked you could host a banquet! The showers were lovely and hot and worked well . The beds were ok but really need new bedding and pillows . Also the sun beds really need new cushions but apart from that we loved it .

Lovely villa with a great pool

We had a great 6 days despite some awful weather. The villa is beautiful and well equipped for all your needs. When the sun was shining relaxing by the superb pool with a cold drink was pretty much paradise. There are some nice places to eat in the town, the beach is lovely and the main supermarket is very good. Great place.

Très bon séjour à Minorque

Nous étions 6 adultes et avons passé un excellent séjour chez Axel. Très bien placé à Minorque la maison est fonctionnelle et la piscine très agréable, le tout au calme. La communication avec Axel est un vrai plus, il est très réactif.

Maison de vacance facile

Nous avons séjourné 1 semaine dans cette maison tres accueillante. L'enorme plus est l'extérieur : piscine tres grande, propre et amenagée de transat et parasol. Douche exterieur tres appréciée. Localisée au calme. A 15 min de Mao et de nombreux villages et plage. Axel est tres disponible et cela securise le séjour. Merci.

Superbe maison

La maison est très agréable et très fonctionnelle. Le coin piscine et la terrasse sont très bien aménagés. Nous avons passé un super séjour en famille à Cala en Porter grâce aux conseils d’Axel. L’emplacement est parfait pour découvrir l’île. Nous relouerons avec grand plaisir la maison si nous retournons à Minorque.

Superbe séjour en famille dans cette belle maison très fonctionnelle, située au bout d’une impasse, au calme à côté des champs. Très grande piscine sécurisée. Cala Porter est un point de départ idéal pour découvrir Minorque et ses plages magnifiques. 2 grandes supérettes, restaurants avec possibilité de commandes à emporter. Très belle plage, idéale avec enfants. Nombreuses activités nautiques possibles depuis la plage. Axel le propriétaire est très disponible, facilement joignable et de bons conseils. On recommande!

Home from home

Situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, the villa was fabulous, with a “home from home” feel about it. Despite being only a 15 minute drive from the airport, we never heard any planes overhead during our stay. We were very surprised at how comfortable the beds were & had it not been for the unexpected heat wave (about 34°in the day) that meant the rooms were 26° at night, we would have probably slept very well. Consequently, the massive pool was a “must” to cool down & was used at every opportunity. Despite having neighbours, the villa was very peaceful & felt totally private, with nobody overlooking the garden. The owner, Axel, was unbelievably helpful in the lead up to & during our holiday & was happy to answer all the questions we had. The local supermarket had a large selection of everyday items but we chose to do our bigger shops at Lidl, 15 minutes away in Mahon, as it was well stocked & fairly cheap in comparison. Places worth a visit were Son Bou, Mahon, Binibequer Vell & Ciutadella but Cala en Porter itself has a beautiful beach & a variety of great places to eat (El Pulpo does a very good paella). We had a lovely fortnight in this villa & would definitely recommend it.

Idyllische, ruhige Lage in Cala en Porter

Wir hatten einen sehr erholsamen Aufenthalt in Cala en Porter. Das Haus ist schön und ruhig gelegen mit Blick auf die Felder. Supermärkte, Restaurants und der Strand sind in 5 Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Zu Fuß sind es 15-20 Minuten. In der Sommerhitze war es uns aber doch zu beschwerlich zu laufen ... Die Kinder haben den großen Pool geliebt und viel Zeit dort verbracht, was uns zu einem ruhigen Urlaub verholfen hat. Leider waren die Nächte sehr heiß und der Schlaf nicht ganz so erholsam . Nicht desto trotz würden wir jederzeit wieder kommen (nächstes Mal vielleicht im Herbst oder Frühling) und empfehlen das Haus gerne weiter. Vielen Dank nochmal für alles!

Nous avons passé deux semaines à Cala En Porter dans cette jolie villa. Elle est située à Cala En Porter dans un ensemble pavillonaire calme. La ville dispose de tout le confort nécessaire (supermarchés, bars à tapas, restaurants, activités, etc.). Nous étions 6 (2 adultes, 4 enfants) et avons passé deux excellentes semaines : plongeon dès le premier soir dans la grande piscine, barbecue quasi quotidien, kayak et bateau à Cala en Porter, El Poulpo le soir... Merci au propriétaire pour sa prévenance et ses nombreux messages tout au long des deux semaines !

Tout y est de l’emplacement en bout de rue du coup hyper calme et pas de problème pour se garer à la fonctionnalité de la maison ,. Fidèle à la description cette villa est idéale nous étions 4 mais on peut y loger à 6 .nous avons Particulièrement apprécié le barbecue, la super piscine entretenu tous les 2 -3 jours . Les machines à laver nickel machine à café Nespresso et pleins de plats, de récipients le top .je remercie aussi Axel pour sa gentillesse et ses réponses toujours très rapide à nos messages .Cala porter est comparable à une petite station balnéaire très agréable et on trouve tout pharmacie, Mercadona, petit marché le jeudi ... Tout est réuni pour un super séjour

Well appointed, lovely villa with a very large pool - great for our little family

The villa was great and well-appointed with all of the things you’d expect and more - decent kitchen equipment, dish a washer, washing machine. It was very much ‘a home from home’. The villa pool is really big and we (including our two small children (1 and 4 years old)) used it every day - there were floats and some beach toys there, which we used. Plenty of sun beds and places to relax within the villa grounds. The beds were very comfortable and the cot was also great. Everything in the villa is of good quality and clearly cared for by the owners. The ceiling fans provided light relief but there is also a standing fan which we had on in the children’s bedroom in the evening. We really needed one too and it was provided with a day or two of asking for it - nothing was too much trouble. The owner was very friendly, responsive and really helpful, we liked him very much and he made our trip very easy. We hired a car so shopped at the Lidl in Mahon although there is a minimart in the resort which is good for essentials but is generally more expensive, as you would expect. Having a car also enabled us to do day trips to Mahon (15 minutes away), Fornells (30 minutes away) and Cala Galdana beach (35-40 minutes away). Cala Galdana beach is great for young children as it is shallow and very gentle. We also drove down to Cala en Porter beach (you can walk but the hill coming back up is incredibly steep - there is a little bus/train that can take you from the resort to the beach if you’re without transport), which was beautifully clean and quite shallow but the waves were stronger. We loved it here and would definitely stay again.

Great location, great villa!

My family and I stayed here for 14 days and immediately settled in. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from the airport and simple enough to find. It's a well appointed, comfortable villa situated 5-10 minutes walk outside the main point of Cala en Porter. There's plenty of space and furniture to sit around the property. There's always a number of places either in the sun or in the shade so you'll be able to tan or shelter while reading a book, sipping a drink or just lazing about. It's far enough from town that it's quiet, it's in a cul-de-sac so no through traffic and the walk in to town to find some food or entertainment is quick and simple. The pool is a lovely size with steps in the shallow end and a ladder in the deep end. We spent a lot of time in it, the pump came on about 9.30am for a few hours (pool guy pops in every now and then in the early mornings so leave the gate unlocked). Gardener(s) came round a couple of times but were quick and friendly. Each bedroom in the villa has a ceiling fan and there's often sufficient breeze at night to make the peak temperatures bearable. We were here during a very hot period and we managed well enough. The beds are comfortable and there's wardrobes etc as expected. Two bathrooms each with a shower (bath shower in one), a toilet and hand basin. The kitchen is small but excellent and has all you need (except the food obviously) including a dishwasher. Some complementary tea/coffee and milk on arrival so you can have a drink while you unpack. There's a small utility room accessible from behind the house with a washing machine, freezer (if you need it) and assorted beach/pool toys/equipment. There's a friendly donkey who pops his head over the wall a couple of times a day and asks for an apple or a carrot (I assume that's what he meant). The children wanted to bring him home... The owner kept us up to date from the moment we booked and was always happy to answer any questions we had. I did have a few about the area as I'd never been and received good advice on things to do and places to go. There's a decent sized information pack with all the info in the villa as well, which was handy. There's no wifi but the EU roaming charges have gone now so that wasn't a problem for us at all. There're a couple of "supermarkets" in Cala en Porter which have good selections but they do cost more than the Lidl or Mercadona on the way to Mahón (15 mins by car).

I, Axel, have been coming to Menorca since 1979, playing on the beaches as a child and my parents had a small apartment. Every year I have been coming back and the island unlike others retains its charme and unconstructed, stunning beaches/bays, beautiful old towns, little harbours, countryside, traditions, etc. There are plenty of activities and sports to do if you like but mostly, just relax, enjoy. As a photographer I also took some nice pictures on Menorca which sell at international art fairs and galleries (Axel James Rockfish).

Why they chose this property

It's charme of a country house/casa de campo - some elements a bit vintage but working well and some brand new like a 4K TV - with unobstructed views over the countryside and occasionally with a few sheep next door (not smelling) or donkey but with a bigger size swimming pool and all amenities of being integrated in an urbanization.
